- Here I replaced a crankshaft senor in a 3 Series BMW, this job normally requires your dealership to remove intake manifold or for someone to blindly do it from under the car. If you remove sensor from underneath the car, you don't need to remove all that stuff from the top! Much easier!

@@707Tino if you do it front bottom you need jack stand if you did like I did in video you won’t need jack stand
Underneath is about the dumbest way I’ve ever seen anyone do it. Your blindly going at it. But if you insist. To each their own. But I bet ya I can have it done quicker. Lol

Nice work. Looks like it was pretty simple. My mechanic said intake and starter has to come out. 300 labour plus parts and taxes. How long did it actually take you from start to finish? Cheers
About 3 hours and normally you do have to take all that off to get to it. But if you can work your hand under the intake and fill for the sensor you can attach a socket - swivel adapter- and an extension and work it just like that. I have a video I uploaded to remove intake manifold. I just replaced my starter as well and will be uploading that video soon where you will see exactly where the sensor is

What was the diagnosis that told you it was the crankshaft sensor. Or maybe symptoms with the car

When I changed mine I replaced the stupid allen head cap screw with a 10mm hex head cap screw.

No I just erased the code and let it idle for a few minutes. Afterwards it ran fine

Hey dude, what were the symptoms of faulty crankshaft sensor ?
Hard to start, would cut off on its own and wouldn’t idle correctly. I had to keep my foot on accelerator to keep it on

What size and type of screw was it
6x16mm
That was the AUC sensor by the cabin air filter. Its what senses environmental changes (temp, etc) and relays it to the ecu

Hard to remember but the part is only at bmw repair shop I just simply asked for the bolt for that exact part

When I get the chance I will take a photo but it was ratchet-extension-extension-swivel-socket
This the same way I do it and I can have this job done in 10 minutes tops. It’s cake. I’m also skinny as shit lol. I laugh at anyone else who does it this way or that way and how long it takes them.

@@Gkc410 I’m having the crankshaft sensor code replaced it with BMW sensor new. No luck. Do you have adapt the new sensor
@@RicardoGarcia-104 so new part same code? Check the reviews on that part if you got it from Amazon. Good thumb if a lot of reviews that the part then that maybe the cause. I would try another one.
