I think it looks way worse than it is due to clever editing. Just see how every clip is cut so that you don't know at which point the girl in the car actually started to cut. The biker made the girl look as bad as possible. It is safe to cut lanes and curves at a certain point. It is very hard to tell how bad this really was without uncut footage.

And lane splitting isn't legal everywhere, and regardless it probably shouldn't be legal anywhere because it's reckless and dangerous, you should always be hyper vigilant and take caution when riding because you can't count on others to be safe for you. Half these videos are bikers riding like assholes and then getting mad when they almost get themselves killed.

It's partly because if you dont obey the laws of the road. If you hit another car, odds are both parties will be fine but hte cars will take damage. If that person on the other hand is a biker, that person WILL get seriously hurt and possibly die. Thats why we react harsher to certain things than most ppl in cars. As it puts our lifes in greater risk than a person in a car. Now we dont all go overboard like alot of ppl on these do.
