And then actually beating the cancer after 3 years of struggle.. Just to finally succumb to a heart attack.. Again, damage done by the damn chemo. If you want to roll the dice and keep smoking.. Go ahead.. I ain't gonna tell you to quit smoking.. Some people get lucky. I had a great aunt who smoked since she was 12 years old... Lived to be 97.. Was still driving at 93...you might get lucky.. Or maybe die of emphysema, stroke, heart attack instead.. But no matter what happens, don't say you'd rather die of cancer.. Cause you definitely wouldn't. Cause all that bad stuff thst happens when you die of old age... People wiping your ass for you, etc.... What an interesting little detail. I'm not really sure how to analyze that, but it's certainly left an impact on me. Interesting character. Perhaps my favorite mobster in the show; he shows why "cooler heads prevail". Very wise man. And Mr. Vincent Curatola really nailed this character. Every once in a while you see an actor portray a character as it were somehow the character that person was meant to play - they really own it. The Sopranos is special I think because there were a lot of relatively unknown at the time actors all under one roof who absolutely showed us a masterclass in their portrayals of their characters. Like they were meant for the roles. Paulie, Tony, Furio, Jonny Sac, to name a few. Edit: now that I watched a few more times I think I get it. He doesn't want to ash on his little golf green, but doesn't care about throwing his butt on the real grass and leaving that filter there for at least 10 years. lol!
