Hey @Brewzle if you want to try a good bridging scotch I suggest Aberfeldy 12. For $40 you can’t go wrong.
You definitely messed up leaving pretty much anything from Four Gate on the shelf
I need that mug! War Damn!
Hey Brewzy, thank you for the content you share.
"If we only get one bottle, we share it." Excellent.
As an Austin native, OLC is the only true gem remaining. Raj and the team are a breath of fresh air.
Raj seems like a bloody legend, awesome stuff
Raj is a model store owner. Great products always fairly priced.
I live here and the whole staff at OLC are one of a kind. They will always have my business.
My favorite part of every video is when TJ pretends he has a “budget”
I enjoy living vicariously through your bourbon hunts. Our state run stores never see 99% of your shelf picks. Even when they do get some highly allocated stuff, you have to put your name on a raffle list.
I love the hunting content man. I know it’s expensive but I sure am thankful to be able to live vicariously through these videos!
Expensive but luckily the big bottles are a write off for his main business and the others are a write off for the bourbon channel. That helps a bit at least. Basically like a 30-35% refund on the bottles. Could even donate some to a charity raffle if he ends up with too much stuff for another tax advantage.
Have you seen his social blade? Dude is doing just fine lol plus the tax write offs.
I know I do
I mean nobody is making him pay quadruple for bottles. Its only this expensive because he makes it that expensive.
That's really cool of Raj to share a bottle of allocated whiskey to the public. Personally I would never pay secondary market for a bourbon, but I get it. Great hunting.
Some of the coolest and most knowledgeable employees/owners I have seen so far, really made this an awesome video.
Agreed, love to hear some more about them and their experiences selling bourbon and the industry etc
Great hunting! I almost always watch all the way through and I did this time because my son has been in the Austin area the last month on business. I had asked him to hunt a little, but he hadn’t yet. After watching this video, I actually called Galaxy Liquors and talked to Kareem. Super nice guy! I told him the three bottles I wanted ( the Buffalo Trace stuff is impossible to find where I’m at). He quoted me $69.99 for E.H. Taylor Small Batch, $69.99 for Eagle Rare (I know that’s still high) and $150.00 for Stagg. My son headed over to pick them up. Some of you may say I still paid too much and you’re probably right, but I can’t find these at home and if I could it would be at least twice as much. Again, super nice guy and willing to negotiate even over the phone. Thanks Kareem and thanks Brewzle!
The eagle rare is only $15-20 more than what I typically see and the others I’d be happy to pay for. You got a good haul!
@@adirtysock9720Thanks!
Oak Liquor Cabinet has been my go-to store for years! Awesome to see them on your list
I work for the Austin shaker and we definitely are more of a boutique and weird alcohol store than anything else. We do carry a lot of bourbons and do some awesome store picks. But we specialize in bringing in rare or harder to find cocktail ingredients.
What would you consider rare or hard to find cocktail ingredients?
@@curtismsh9211 occasionally we get things like chartreuse VEP, some interesting rums and amaros that average people haven’t heard of. We are a class B distributor to 400 high end bar and restaurants in the city of Austin and have been known to bring it some really oddball stuff for them and if they don’t buy all of it and it sits at our warehouse for awhile it will trickle out to our stores.
The downside of announcing these in advance is they end up buried on the Subscriptions page and become difficult watch back for those that miss the live. Subscription page sorts by initial post date rather than scheduled live time.
Might just start doing them the day of. Thanks for the info.
I agree. I caught the last 5 minutes because the notifications buried it and for some reason got the notification dang near just before the vid was over
I think the video will be bumped up in the Subscriptions page once it goes live. In my subscription page this video is sorted based on the time it went live!
As someone from Oklahoma, we passed the law years ago to allow more alcohol in beer. Just wanted to put that out there so everyone knows we don’t entirely suck
Yeah, and Oklahoma has recently passed new regulations making it super appealing to businesses. Which is why stuff like disney world is coming to Oklahoma.
And they also have announced a new project to make an even larger skyscraper in OKC
3.2% beer essentially became obsolete in October 2018 in Oklahoma. I went to OKC for the first time in late September 2018, and as a Wisconsinite, having super shitty light beer as the primary option was highly disappointing. October onward was definitely better, but I remember how big of a deal it was to everyone at the time.
I know NC had a 15% limit on all beer sold in the state when I was stationed there in 2018. My now wife had to pickup my first bottle of Utopias in MN to celebrate my enlistment ending because of that damn law.

Glad to hear Oklahoma is doing well. Always felt it was an under appreciated state
Brewzle. You kick so much ass. The only bourbon guy I follow, because I can tell you're a true bourbon fan and drinker. Nothing boring, and you're a true people person. Glad you made it to Austin, but it'd awesome to see what you can find in my side of the state up in Houston! Great work, man. Keep it up!
Love these videos. You got me hooked into Bourbon over Christmas. Always loved bourbon barrel aged beers but never took the plunge into bourbon itself. Being in the UK the availability ain't too great here and we pay a big premium but I'm already in deep. Eagle Rare, Four Roses Single Barrel, Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey 101 picked up to start me off and already loving it. Cheers Brewzle!
For a person who doesn’t like drinking I enjoy your videos. I learn, I laugh on top of wanting to expand my palate and try new drinks. An absolute Legend! Keep up the good work
I enjoy having a taste, but I don't really like being impaired, especially outside of a social setting. I agree with your sentiment on these videos.
@@scottmattern482hmmm completely opposite i dont like to be inebriated in a social setting especially around lots of people that being said the taste of alcohol is typically horrible so if im drinking something straight over ice its damn good lol
@@andrewparisotto2631 I get anxious, or something, when I know I shouldn't drive, or when I can hear myself slur a word and know I am not functioning very well. So, the only time I ever drink past the point of a tasting, is in social settings when some value can be found. As for being inebriated, I'm not sure I ever enjoyed it, but it happened in my younger days with some regularity, I'm sure I have publicly made an ass out of myself on more than one occasion.
For a person who does like drinking i also enjoy his videos.....
Bottle kill! The van winkle prices were high but the rock hill price offended me more 😂 Great video as always.
I'm glad A&B liquor was showcased. Way over priced, they say its the last bottle and then you go and it's back in stock. Mom and Pop shop that js keeping the secondary market prices high. Love, Love Love OLC, Raj is a gentleman and a scholar, and his entire staff afe of the upmost professionals in the industry.
Raj and Brian at Oak Liquor Cabinet are not only ALWAYS good guys, but the prices are the fairest in Austin. They have earned my loyalty. I drive past 4 or 5 stores and buy from Oak Liquor Cabinet every time.
Bottle kill! I like your transparency on the prices and I appreciate you call out the prices you see… recognizing we can’t always make out the price tags… for me.. I use your hunting videos as mental notes for price references
I did a distillery tour of Maker's Mark just a few days before they bottled up the Cellar Aged barrels. Getting to see the barrels before the new product release and hearing about it before almost anyone else was pretty cool.
I was just in Texas this past weekend. Tried my first pour of Still Austin (went with the cask strength bourbon). I really enjoyed it! So much so that I picked up a bottle of it as soon as I got back home (Wisconsin)!
love that bottle, try mixing it 50/50 with WT101 AMAZING !!!!
Love the explanation of store picks. I didn't realize thats what they are.
Love these hunting vids so much especially when you get talking to knowledgeable and helpful staff or owners, such a cool vibe, cheers TJ
I just stumbled on your channel. My new favorite youtube channel. I just got my first bottle of weller special reserve, antique 107 and van winkle lot B from a local lottery. Living vicariously through you as you buy these bourbons is a dream. Cheers brother 🥃
Amazing content. I shop at those same store regularly. Unfortunately the prices can be hard to swallow. My favorite so far is Oak Liquor Cabinet.
The Whiskey Hunting videos are amazing!!
Right down the street. Hey y'all from New Braunfels TX. Thank you so much for respecting our state you're a good man that comes first before anything God bless the state of Texas and your family
Great video, learning more about bottles, brands, picks each time. HUGE Thanks from So. CA.
Weller SR is super easy to find in TX at MSRP. Anything above that is damn near impossible 😅
Jill might be mad about the Pappy prices. But I bet she is loving the rewards points from the credit card you used. Lol
Brewzle your the man at finding bourbon my man we appreciate the consistent content and am so happy for yall about the fast growth of your channel iv learned alot from you well deserved success.
Great video. Very entertaining. Getting an idea of pricing for good bottles has been very helpful while I’ve been hunting in PA. Since we are state run it’s not the same but occasionally good bottles pop up. Recently found that Bowman Bros. you highlighted in the video for $35
TJ you’d be impressed today. Finally found a GTS on the shelf in NC for $125. Have been on top of the world today 🤟🏻
was it in clemmons?
where was it
@@pakjaded8819 Hickory dropped the full btac collection at every store yesterday. Was working but managed to get a GTS. Somehow it sat for about 10 hours
Raju at Oak Liquor is the MAN. His barrel picks are always 🔥
@BREWZLE You're always asking about scotch well at about 13:30 when you're explaining store picks that Chivas Regal behind you is one of my favorites
Austin is my hometown, just moved away for work a couple years ago. Oak Liquor Cabinet is awesome - tons of great barrel picks, great owner & staff, solid prices too.
Bottle kill! I just can't see myself dropping 800 on a bottle of bourbon. I couldn't bring myself to open it and drink it after spending that much. It would just set on my shelf collecting dust.
I mean the only bourbons i can think of that cost 800 or more are the super high age michters and the double eagles and baccarats. Bourbon is pretty cheap to produce.
Sometimes the price is the price. Mark up can be bad but in some areas those things are like Bigfoot.. they’re just never seen. I enjoy all your videos ! Thanks for all you guys do!
Secondary is all day every day and when he national valuation is less than these stores are asking, that's when you turn and walk away. Don't spend money in these garbage ass stores that are predatory pricing just waiting on oblivious dudes to buy the shit. When secondary is less, it's a problem......... Doesn't matter if a given area is hard to find anything in when you can go to a secondary group and get ANY bottle ANY day .
@@chasecarter1170FACTS! And I do think the bubble is about to burst, in CA it already has. The Flippers out here are about to panic because your starting to find stuff on the shelf (Stagg Jr, Baker's 13, KC18, Woodford BP, ECBP and LarcenyBP etc. I see clowns putting stuff on Craigslist at or above full secondary and it's being sitting since before Christmas or even Thanksgiving! Not in this economy 😂😂😂
The Austin shaker is my local store! Cool to see it here. Although I’m more of a cocktail guy than a whiskey hunting guy - I just enjoy your videos. Cheers!
I gotta say I watch most whiskey hunters and reviewers but by far you are the best for sure
You show you shop you buy your interactive food for you
You the best
The Van Winkle was expensive, but here in NC they’re virtually impossible to get. Thanks for the video.
"Virtually" impossible? Try completely impossible. Gotta go down to SC to even find Buffalo Trace products, much less Pappy.
@@Adam1984_ exactly
@@Adam1984_ can walk into any liquor store around me in my local area of rural Kansas and find buffalo trace products
Oak Liquor Cabinet is the best shop in Austin. Forever grateful that they’re so close. Everything at MSRP, great picks from them, samples, crazy selection and just damn good people!
Thanks for the store pick explanation. How about covering some more Burbon terms like Bonded etc.
Man, RR13s secondary is like $200-$250. How can they charge $300?
Many stores are trying to offset secondary pricing. They don’t want people making money off of their bourbons. It’s a double edged sword, if you sell under secondary, you’ll have an easier time selling and restocking. If you price above secondary, it will take longer to sell, but odds are the person buying won’t be putting it on secondary, they’ll be drinking it.
Of course you paid full secondary you are the “Tater King” 🥔👑
I worked for a large bottle shop in Indy about 15 years ago. One Sunday, the owner took us to Bardstown for a private tour and tasting at Buffalo Trace. They rolled five barrels into a room. We tasted and voted for our favorite two, since the owner was buying them. The winners were the two I voted for! I voted for them because they were the sweetest. A couple weeks later, the bottles came, each with a little sticker, "Bottled for Kahn's Fine Wines." The whole day was like living in a bourbon commercial, with sunlight streaming through the windows and reflecting off the dust as we held up tasting glasses.
You’ve got to pick up one of those Redbreast Kentucky blends (the blue box); I’ve had the 12yr, 15yr, Lustau, Cask Strength, and the Kentucky. It’s easily a top 3 for me
Jesus Christ. Lot b and Old Rip 10 are NOT 800 on secondary. ORVW is like 650 and lot b is around 700. You scammed yourself Brewzle. Plus he swapped the Russell’s 13 out of the package so you paid like 500 over…
Would love to see a video trying some rums with a real rum guy, kinda like the scotch one. A few of these stores you’re in have some amazing rums. Beautiful, single cask, additive-free bottles from Independent bottlers. Kinda stuff that when rum takes off and becomes a bit more mainstream will resell on secondary for ludicrous four or five digit prices.
LOVE hunting in TX…My Dad lived in Dallas for 25 years and the best part of visiting was the Bourbon hunt! I’m bummed he moved back to MN. 😂 My last trip down I saw copious amounts of 1.75 Weller SR going for under $40 & 750s barely over $20 @ Spec’s (my favorite). Liquor King great too.
I always enjoy you bourbon hunting! Love to support it.
Great video! OLC is one of the best stores in all of Texas. You did miss out passing on the RR single rickhouse as it is worth it over the 13 and a hidden gem is the Rebecca Creek 16yr. Fantastic 16yr MGP single barrel.
I always look forward to your videos! You do an amazing job! I feel like I’m going to @brewzle school and learning every time.
Galaxy is right next to my work. I’ve only been in there once and saw Weller 12 for $299. 😂 picked the same bottle up at Specs a couple of weeks ago for about $47. Oak Liquor Cabinet is great. Found a Benchmark Peach there for $7!!! lol!!
Bottle kill 🔫🔫 My first love was beer and now a bourbon enthusiast thank to you. It warms my heart you enjoy the Goose Island BA stouts, such a great combo. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Nothing tops brewzle first thing on friday! Watching from Texas! Wish i couldve seen TJ!
The secondary prcing is no joke! I live in Austin and didn't know about a lot of these places so you gave me some new places to hunt. Especially for some Weller SR
The willet rye was my first bottle from willet and it was delicious. I got a tobacco sort of note with it that was really pleasant for sipping neat
Thanks brewzle…3 months ago I wasn’t much of a drinker and just smoked lotsa weed lol now I’m damn near as deep in whiskey(mostly bourbon) as I am in the green 😂 I also am not a fan of scotch but you need to try Aberlour speyside 12yr…it’s pretty damn amazing!
Hey ! That commemorative F1 Alpha Romeo whistle pig piggyback is more than the label! It’s finished/ infused with floral teas and it’s extremely unique and delicious. And it’s a single barrel. Fully worth $49.99
Bottle Kill.. Honestly I think you did good with the Rips because I've never even seen one in the wild.. Great videos TJ, I really enjoy learning about bourbon from you.
Moon dance in round rock off red bud has an absolutely amazing selection. If your still in town its a must!! Russell 13 ,all wellers, so much!!
Great show you have inspired me to go hunting, picked up a good bottle in St Maarten Caribbean cheers
AWESOME! I live in austin and i only knew 1 of all of those liquor store! Great content!
Great video, this one. Makes me want to drive three hours just to load up on Weller and Blantons. Blantons is still impossible to find around DFW.
Next time you are in Texas, try Sixth Street Bourbon in Giddings, TX. They have a tasting room there. My name is James Dunn, and I work for them. Oak cabinet is in the process of buying a barrel from us!
As a person that drinks Bourbon 98% of the time I drink, I'm glad that I just found your channel. I have been stuck on Chicken Cock right now and I love when I can find it for under 60.
Single rickhouse is fantastic. I have the first release, and it's an amazing bottle.
Long time watcher, first time commentor...the video of the Antique 107 going into a lawn mower brought and kept me here.
Antique 107 is $70 here. It's only available online and sells out in hours after release, but if you are willing to get online at the release time, it isn't an issue getting one. E.H Taylor is $99. This is Canadian, niot American pricing.
Great video! Always enjoy these.
LOVE Old Grand-dad Bonded. We can get it here in Daytona all the time on the shelf - average price is 24 - Last bottle I got was 17.00
goin for the rickhouse out in delaware they try to sell that for 600 and the russels 13 they sell at 400-500, but that mini weller i would buy to never seen a 375 weller sr. the new one is OF 1924 so cant wait to get my hands on it. Sad part is the vender price is 90 bucks for the 10 year and the 12 year. The OF King Ranch is amazing one of my favorites...Always love watching your videos
You will enjoy that Sam Utopias. Enjoy and store at room temp. You can even reseal and save what you don't drink for a later time. Cheers!
Great vid. I wish stores in my area had that kind of selection
Dude fr I just got my hands on an eagle rare, we have ABC board stores only, it was an interesting set of hurdles to navigate just to get the one allocated bottle that I got
When you come up the north east coast I can't wait til you see the price of certain bottles, enjoy your trips and hunting
Thanks for keeping the prices high!
Loved this one, best video so far. Thanks.
Brewzle you are the man!! Anytime you drop a video I gotta watch it asap.. in your opinion what is the best bourbon under $200 that is somewhat easily attainable?
If that "beer barrel" is from New Holland, it is an amazing low cost whiskey. They aged Dragon's Milk, a fantastic imperial milk stout in their whiskey barrels, then turn and age whiskey in the barrels the beer sat in. It's amazing how much it mellows out a $30-$40 whiskey. Like to the point it would surprise me if they doubled it, haven't seen in since I moved back East after living in CO a few years back
Great Video. Still holding on to a 2003 Utopias for a special occasion. Was given it as a gift way back when the prices was about $175.00. My how things have changed.
If/when you make it to Southern California, you have to check out Hollymain Liquors in El Segundo and talk to Jimmy. I was in town for a funeral over the weekend and went 3 times to take multiple family members. They have a great selection of hard to find bottles. RHF, Old Fitz, all of the Wellers, Multiple Pappys, and many many more.
Love the hunting videos, plus you actually buy bottles. Best bourbon hunting UA-camr!
Nice to see you mix it up a little.
Excellent as always Brewzle. I’m headed to San Antonio this week to see family. My brother in law lives in Austin. I think we may have to go hunting in those same stores. Thanks
I’ve been to Chris’s. Marked up a lot but good selections. Weller SR is $26 in tons of places in Texas.
@Brewzle you just missed out on Bourbon Day at the Spec's Brodie Lane in south Austin on 12/28/23. 🥃 Tons of allocated bottles at MSRP.
Great video, glad you made it to Austin.
Always watching till the end, vlogs always flow and engaging! Keep it up good buddy!
Crazy!! Every store you go in you see wellers and buff trace. In nc you can't find the stuff I feel like they don't sell that stuff to us . Only thing is the cream .
Bottle kill! These videos are awesome. Wish we had half the selection up here in Canada. Only good thing is prices are all set at msrp by liquor agency and cant be sold for more. Evens the playing feild a bit.
That Old Forester Single Barrel pick from the beginning (1:19) is from the same warehouse and floor as 2023 Birthday Bourbon!
I've got a Lot B if you need one. Happy to work a trade. Say a couple of antiques and a couple EH small batch. Good deal if you can get those at msrp.
Oak Cabinet is the best store in Austin Area. Prices are reasonable and always a great selection. They always have 3 of my favorites Blue Note Uncut, Bardstown Origin Series wheated and straight bourbon! Always. I have yet to walk in an not find those 3. THE BEST STORE!!!!
If you haven’t already had it, I think the yellow label Wilderness Trail. Pretty sure I saw it peek its tail out at South Lamar
I found this in my feed and really enjoyed it. I’m new to whiskey & bourbon. I’ve tried a handful of the basics: Knob, Makers, Woodford, and some others. I’m 53 and want to expand my appreciation. Can I get a couple recommendations in the $40-60 range?
You skipped right past a Rebecca’s Creek in the first store next to the Cigar Blend! And that was a solid price on the Russell’s Single Rickhouse beaches I believe they are $300 msrp.
Oak Liquor Cabinet is my favorite place in Austin. They are good people and always have good store picks available for a decent price.
As a new subscriber to your channel, I'm a Scotch man at heart with very little interest in Bourbons, however after watching your videos I'm definitely going to try some of your recommendations, love the passion and the content, great work sir!
Thanks for watching! Converting scotch drinkers, one video at a time. 😉
