I currently have the 2nd gen 2020 iPad Pro with 256gb and with Procreate. I would like to get Procreate Dreams when it comes out, but I'm wondering if I should consider trading in my iPad for more storage. Do you think for Procreate Dreams it's necessary to have larger storage, like 512gb or 1tb?
I personally haven’t seen the specs for Procreate Dreams yet but base on the software I’ve used in the past RAM will be the only issue for smooth playback. I’m using a M1 with 1TB and 16GB of RAM. If you can upgrade to the 1TB you should be sitting pretty, don’t forget your still have to create or import you other assets to build your animation.
@@carltongamble awesome. I’m currently doing bachelors in Computer Animation at Full Sail University where I also work. Procreate Dreams is gonna be amazing.
Guys I need help . I want to try procreate dreams !!! But I don’t have iPad and I’m poor … really … what is the best budged iPad for procreate dreams ??? I’m between a second hand iPad Air 5 or a new iPad mini 6 . That’s my budget … what do you think ? Will it work ?
They’ve been a little sketchy with giving the specs of the type of iPad needed to run dreams but I would expect you would need at least a M1 processor and as much storage space as you can afford. Don’t think of an iPad as being expensive it’s a device that will run longer than an Android and it will have support far longer. Check eBay and Pawnshops for lower prices. Last thing Apple and yellowdog.com both sell refurbished devices. I bought my first Mac from yellowdog.com good luck. 🍀 P. S. Get the biggest iPad you can. Think of the iPad as digital paper. You want something as close to 8x11 paper because your probably use to drawing on copy paper like me.
@@carltongamble , I have used it, too. It has been a good introduction for me since I’m not an animator. I’ve used it mainly to make simple gifs and MP4 clips for book advertisements. I can’t wait to learn something more robust.
@@carltongamblehahaha see I've been using it less because it's so time consuming so I keep going "okay this is going to be so much easier in the new app" 😂
It should available in the Apple App Store on 11/22/2023. If you’re on their mailing list you might have gotten a pre-order email. But the release date is 11/22.
You have a gift of story telling man…good job
Thank you 🙏
Dope review! Can't wait to use the animations in our vids going forward! Opportunities are endless!

Question does it have symbols?
Not sure Dreams will be released next week, but it’s based on Procreate to make symbols so as long as you’re creative the world is open.
Glad I stumbled upon your video . . Like yourself, I have to draw more very excited to animate with procreate dream
less CSR, more DARW, got it 😂

Layers are limited by number of colors. So, i expect we’ll still need to mind our pixels and color trade offs.
@@dplj4428 good to know.

@@carltongamble thank you a lot !
I’m with you. I would have handed my $ over as soon as I heard about Dreams. I am biting my nails waiting for Nov 22.
I’ve using Procreate’s Animate Assist a bit more since I heard the news. I got my 💸 ready to fly out of my pockets. 😂.
