you can barely see the "door" lettering, so imagine a old man or woman trying to board and she or he sees this label and thinks the entire train is out of order. LMFAO
The train's already delayed for 10 minutes at this point, pretty sure the passengers would want the crappy sign than to wait 5 more minutes to find station staff to hand letter one up.
I was so excited when I ticked off the Sprinter and Super Sprinter in my I-spy railways book, I was so bored with the HST's we get around here. How naive I was as a child.

The guard probably had a couple of pints before shift, a couple of pints on lunch and a few more after. Don't mess with them. Especially Welsh drivers and guards. The crews based at Swansea would knock your teeth out just asking about a timetable.
Wow! Very similar with Class 315 when it was new in 1980s. 315s has drivers (front) and guards (rear). Sadly of 315s being scrapped but hopfully one unit should saved. I'm not sure about modern London Underground trains but they got CCTV screens in drive cabs.
Well I saw a "super sprinter" (156405) on the Derby - Crewe line last week at Tutbury and Hatton station, still in Welsh livery. So these "old" trains are still serving passengers in May 2023.
One of these turned up one Saturday night at M/cr Picc and I was given it for the New Mills service.....we were turned back at Bredbury because of a problem further up the line. Then an engine stopped on the way back.....When I got back I had it taken to Longsight DED. After this I drove quite a few 153s but never another 155.

As for multiple units, what about Classes 317, 318, 455, 442, 319, 210, 150, 450. Also, there's a subsection of MK3a coaches which are, in fact, loco hauled and are not compatible with the MK3 coach. Yeah, a lot of multiple unit variations can be built from regular coaches, at least, the design of them.

Spotted a driver mistake! When driving, the headlight was illuminated on the drivers side. This must only be done at night, not during the day. Should be illuminated on the other side during the day.
They do actually. The outer thinner lights (marker lights) are always on and the main headlight (depending whether it is day or night) is either on the left or the right hand side. Driver's side is night running and other side is day running.
Why is that the rule? Does it really make a difference (especially with modern headlamps)?
The night running headlight is brighter, so is better to see in the dark, whereas the day running is just so people can see the train approaching.
I can't say I've noticed a difference on, say, a Class 444 between the two main headlights.
Well, I don't really notice the difference either, but that is what it is meant to be for.
