This was a real who-dun-it! Great mystery movie! I enjoyed Eugene Palette as a smart detective, instead of the clueless detective he usually played next to Philo Vance and others!
What a hoot! Really enjoyed this movie, it just plodded along and then all the pieces (or bodies) fit.😂 And yes, it's always fun to see Zazu Potts and Eugene Paulette. Thanks.😊
Was it on purpose when the top policeman (the chief?) mixed up the words "bed" and "basement" when questioning the lovestruck, hobo-helper lady? That was very subtle and clever if it was done on purpose.
Ms. Pitts was a big deal. My mom, born in 1920, talked about her and what a favorite she had been. My dad always filled me in on the histories of the femme fatales we would see doing guest sopts on late 60s-80s TV shows. He once rested his elbow on the stage where Mitzi Gaynor was performing about 11 feet away. Kinda surprised he ever washed it again.
What did the letter in the pocket signify? This film has so many currently-defunct accents. What a sad loss of American culture… I ADORE the opening title font. This was written and shot better in a lot of ways than many modern films.
ZaZu Pitts was a funny gal. But she don't look too happy with her "catch" in the poster. Maybe the other guy will dump the blonde, and she'll trade-up to a beau that will put a smile on her face. 😉
A very modest comedy/mystery B movie populated by silent and early 1930s character actors. An amusing antique; a tighter script would have helped but enjoyable.
Strangers of the evening !!! I have no idea !I don't believe them and avoid them ! Strangers are dangers !!! So wait and see !I think my best friend Mike is here ! Nice! 👸 🙏
Crazy comedy must hv been fun working with Mr Humberstone 🤔 Known as "Lucky" ; on wiki this not mentioned ... He did the whole range of genres. Less than 1K likes from 60K views and comments here aren't all positive. To a few it's a real find tx for upload/preservation/ cast & crew. The reviews on IMDB mostly condescending at best, seems not many (there) liked it ...
😃Thank you 🥰Always good to watch the great Zasu Pitts ❤👍💖Oct . 4 , 2023
Zasu Pitts and Eugene Pallette in the same movie, awesome 🎥🎥🎥❤️😊🥂
Agree!!

Aww,The Great Zasu & Eugene 😉
Tired of this century, looking for some old-fashioned, uncomplicated entertainment. You thankfully delivered!

Ah, the great Eugene Pallette - wonderful pairing with the other players: and a voice like no one else ever had.
Yahoo for Zazu!
Marvelous! 🙂

Even back in 1932, people didn’t want to do jury duty! 😅😅lolol

Zasu Pitts is the headliner of this movie she got top billing but only appears for 10 minutes in the whole movie. Strange.
no its not
Obviously; she had an excellent agent.

I see this has its own entry on wiki which tries to explain the plot!! It was Tommy's first solo job no wonder he's under such pressure
Uh yeah that’s the ticket
Is that a Xmas turkey on your dinner table or a beached whale on white sands? (You got a new kitten? Cool.)
