You can select the quarter sphere very quickly by using Shift-Z to get the wireframe view and using click-drag and a perspective like front of left get grab the quarter sphere.

Wow I didn't know that! I'll keep that in mind for the future and I'll probably incorporate that in a future video with credits to you. Thanks again for commenting!

@@avramplager1953 sorry for throwing so much at you in this video. I have a bad habit of talking like I know what I'm talking about. Hahahaha.

Funny to come across this in my suggested videos. I was just looking at Gravity Sketch in VR again. Part of my process using it in the past was to create the original model in VR with Gravity Sketch, export it, then remesh it in Blender to clean it up and create different LOD (level of detail) models for video game projects.

Do what you did to create your ICO including the smoothing. Then go back into Object mode and create a second but this time in the lower left of the screen expand the "Add Ico Sphere" tool menu that appears. Change the Subdivisions to 3 and compare it to the first ICO you created. Similar but not the same, two creation paths to suit your needs. Smoothing is a double-edged sword with 3 cutting edges.

I'm planning to make a tutorial on smoothing either today or tomorrow so I'll be sure to include that. Thanks!

@@avramplager1953 sorry again for all the commenting. I'm a big knowledge sharer which is sometimes seen as a "measuring contest".
