Life Changed Little on a Tiny Island Between Alaska and Russia

  • While Alaska may be the biggest U.S. state, its population is one of the smallest in the country. Four-fifths of the state's territory can be reached only by air, and a lot of small towns would have been completely isolated were it not for small planes. The community of Diomede is on the island of Little Diomede in the middle of the Bering Strait, right between Alaska and Russia. Natasha Mozgovaya reports on what residents say life is like. Anna Rice narrates her report.

      These people are Eskimos, and Eskimos did not traveled down to South America.
      Almost all Eskimos just went up to Canada.
      East/ Northeast Asians, Koreans, Japanese, and Other mongoloids, traveled down to South America that’s why some Mexicans look like Asian.

    These people are seriously crazy, I've looked at videos and aerial photos of "Diomede city" and it looks like a slum full of wrecks, broken things strewn around and piles of garbage simply lying around here and there.
    I also wonder how they dispose of human waste: there is no sewage system so probably they throw buckets of shit and piss into the see in the warm season and just keep it in the homes in the cold season as the entire area freezes and there is ice all around for miles (actually the sea between the two islands used to freeze completely up to some 30 years ago and it was possible to literally "walk to Russia").
    If they make holes in the ice and put the shit there once the ice melts they'll have shit mounds all around the place or simply floating in the sea.
    And I can only imagine the inbreeeding...

      It was never Russia’s land to claim in the first place.

    • @PlayshotKalo

      Much of Alaska is Alaskan Native territory. Sovereign land owned by sovereign tribes. Russians never lived here or colonized here, they never conquered us for our lands. Most Alaskans didn’t even know Russians existed in those days because they hadn’t even contacted many Alaskans at all, they hadn’t even discovered most of Alaska by the time they sold it to the US.
      A couple hundred Russians did some trading of pelts and animal skins with the few Alaskans they actually came in contact with and nobody even knew they claimed the territory. Alaskans never gave ownership to Russia and Russians never defeated us for that ownership. It was never theirs. Alaskans never recognized them as owners, let alone knew they even wanted it. It would be like me flying to Russia on a business trip and just claiming Russia then selling it to another country when no Russian even knew I claimed it, let alone agreed that I was the owner.
      Now you see why the US called the deal “Seward’s Folly,” they bought something from Russia that didn’t even belong to Russia, and this is why Alaskan Natives actually have strong land claims unlike the lower 48 Native Americans who were conquered and colonized

    • @benj8242
      @benj8242 Рік тому +1

      @@PlayshotKalo Alaska was still conquered and colonized, and Alaskan native tribes have just about the same right to land claims as the mainland native tribes. The Alaskan natives refusing to fight for territory they believe as theirs is instantaneous surrender of said territory. If I were to claim Russian land and sell it on behalf of a foreign government, what would happen to me? I'd be put in in jail for the inherently aggressive action that is. War isn't innate to the conquering of a territory, It's just the assumed action a peoples would take when being aggressed upon, which the Alaskan natives did not.
      The majority of Alaska is now inhabited by European-American's, you don't call that colonization?

      @@PlayshotKalo Russia conquered Alaska by claiming it and selling it, Americans colonized Alaska by buying it and settling there. The Native Alaskans didn't fight for their territory therefore its instantaneous surrender of said territory. The simple act of claiming the territory was aggressive as it invalidates the peoples sovereignty, there's simply two options after that which is war or surrender and they chose the latter, unlike the Mainland Native Americans who fought and through that fighting gained concessions from the United States such as the Native Territories.

      @Francisco81a It is fabricated....the US (pretends) to be free....but really it is according to who is in (control). The so called (US) is NOT home of the free and home of the brave, nor do they have a so called "American Dream" it is all a LIE! It is one of the most CORRUPT countries to live in under the (dictatorship) of the sneaky democratic party....they are so very evil and do NOT care about their citizens and they have NO morals, values, or respect.....it is ONLY about them and what they want....which is to tear down and destroy America!!
