      You could literally walk to Russia, but you cannot do it legally. There is a Russian military base on Big Diomede, and they are strictly against people walking, swimming, or kayaking onto their land from the USA. To do it legally, you have to go from an official passport control in the USA, and enter Russia at an official passport control. The nearest ones are in Nome AK, and Provedinia, Chukotka, Russia, which are nowhere near within walking distance

    Big Diomede has a crashed Soviet cargo plane on it

    • @jupiter8141
      @jupiter8141 3 роки тому +4

      Another name for the Russian 'Big Diomede Island' is 'Tomorrow Island', due to its location on the international date line. The history behind the plane crash is quite strange and dates back to September 1971. It was a regular Russian flight which was to deliver mail, supplies and goods to the forward russian outpost at the big island. The Li-2 aircraft brought ballots to Ratmanov Island. It threw out the packages at the outpost and did not pull up in time because of a downdraft and low clouds. So because of cloud cover and weather conditions the plane met with weather disturbance. The pilot had no option but to crash land the plane. So the plane crashed and none of the crew of 4 suffered any life threatening injuries except for some bruises and broken bones. They spent the night at the crash site and the next day they were rescued by helicopter. The plane is a Lisunov Li-2. This is a version of the Douglas DC3/C47 Dakota built under licence in Russia and Uzbekistan before and during WW2.

    Maybe they will? Maybe they have? Alaska is a world unto itself up there, disconnected from mainland USA, and presents some unique living habits, career choices, natural habitats, and weather conditions. Texas, while also huge, is connected and relatively similar to mainland US living. You can always read their magazine for more information. I'm guess somewhere in their history they have printed articles numerous times about Texas. I don't know the answer, though.

    Let me tell you the flat earth realization brought me here Yesterday Island aka Little Diomede on the U.S Alaska side and Tomorrow Island AKA Big Diomede on the Russian side which is ONLY ABOUT 3MILE APART!!!!!MY MIND IS BLOWN🤯🤯🤯!!! RUSSIANS CAN AND DO DRIVE TO THE US SIDE IN LESS THAN 10MINS!!!!!! I PRAY THAT IT WILL CLICK IN PEOPLE 'S HEAD!!! The movie Tomorrow Island always went over my head because I would never had thought it was a real place!!!!!!
