Yup. I was there in 1980 at the Los Angeles gig. I was so ecstatic to be with Steve Chris and Alan that I just pretended it was Jon harmonizing with Chris. I was actually THAT stoned.
I’ve seen YES since the Drama Tour. All sorts of incarnations including the UNION Tour in 1991 with the classic 70’s lineup and then some. Pay no mind to the naysayers criticizing this band who have NOT seen them in person. You will NOT be disappointed in June!
I loved the original Drama tour during this song when Alan White's drum riser rose and rotated in the opposite direction as the rest of the band. This Halloween will be my first post Alan show (not counting ARW). Thanks
Ha! I remember Alan White's riser elevating and rotating (I think) in the opposite direction of the stage. One critic called AW the "first vertical take off drummer" in his review of their MSG shows in 1980
Maybe you can confirm something for me. I love Drama and the tour, but I've always said Trevor Horn struggled to reach some of the higher sections of And You and I. I don't think his voice was up to some of their catalogue. I am a camera --- camera, camera...
@@pschroeter1 I don't remember how good Trevor Horn nailed the higher parts. I just thought the band overall put on a great show and I loved it. Some days/weeks prior to them coming to LA the King Bisquit Flower Hour played songs from that tour and I do recall that And You And I was one of them. It was surely good enough.
I don't know if they have "improved" in the last 5 years however, I am rather dismayed by all the negative comments from "fans" who complain about all the dead members- what sort of immortality were they expecing Yes to give them or their members? Were all there capes meant to mean they had superpowers beyond death? When I look at Billy I see glimpses of Chris and when I see Jay playing I see someone who can pick up the slack that Alan was so courageously struggling with in his later years. Ultimately I see the same energy be played out except through different and sometimes newer members. In contrast to many comments posted, as far as I am convinced this line-up does Yes justice and people just need to get over the fact that people occasionally pass on into greater realms of consciousness(that is die). The least we can do is celebrate the lives of every member of Yes as they are seen through different players down the line. That being said, I might change my opinion shortly if they need to find one talented mf'er to replace Steve, but believe me there do exist such people in our midst if ever Steve leaves us (not a wish Steve live long and prosper- your discipline and immaculate playing has graced all the albums your have played on). For instance has anyone seen what Paul Bielotowicz has done for Carl Palmers band? ua-cam.com/video/E4F_6MhQ-y4/v-deo.html Still I will admit that I will have trouble calling this band Yes when Steve is no longer there mainly due to the discipline that he infuses into the arrangements.

I remember a weekend concert in Memphis . Yes and the Stones both had concerts on the same weekend just a day apart .That was an awesome time in Memphis . I will turn 70 in a week and my eldest son will be taking me to the concert in Oxon Hill Md. in about 24 hours from now . He took me to see the Peter Gabriel concert at the Capitol Center in DC on 9/20 /23 . He is a very good son .
Sure, a surprisingly mis-timed drum fill around 20 seconds, but otherwise this sounded great. This is pretty much the only Yes we have now, so best of luck to them.

Brit Floyd shows are great and bring us closer to the true experience of a live Floyd show despite not having anyone affiliated with the real PF. Why complain about their performances when they pull off a nice rendition of Machine Messiah like this?
