How any of these children grew up to have the intelligence and courage to break free of the cult is nothing short of miraculous!! So much courage and strength!!
The most important items for me is that these are ordinary people. Not flawed, necessarily, just in a position where someone was able to take advantage of them. I've read about a couple of cults and it's a twisted world view. Once inside, they lose perspective, frequently because the leader cuts them off from family and friends. I'm relieved that these people were able to escape and terrified to think how many others are in cults even as I type these words.
A very important and educational show. I would have liked a deeper look at how the interviewees escaped. What first gave them the idea that something was wrong and "off?" How did they practically bring about their escape? For example, we know the person who belonged to the cult of the "O" had a turning point when the cult tried to teach her how to raise her child. But how did she actually get out? Did her husband come with her? The man who was in the pseudo-Buddhist cult--what enabled him to stand up to the leader and refused to engage in physical activity with him? How did he get out and manage on the outside? This is a very important starting point and I hope that further episodes will focus on some of these questions, as well as giving advice to well-intentioned friends and family members how to navigate the situation when a family member is in a cult.
I'm only a little bit further into the video now. Wow trying to get someone else to take the 'rap' for a crime they did not commit........... it sounds really similar to the tactics used against British author Russell Miller by the Scientology organization. You should really look up his story. it's quite sad and every bit horrifying what that group almost got away with against, Mr Miller.
The 60s through the 90s were interesting in studying cults. Such groups were more prominent and common place. The David Korish (sp) one is another known one that was sad for the children involved.

Yes, well said.

It's frightening that this can happen to any of us. I'd like to think that I'm too stubborn and too controlling 😊. But I don't think that matters.
Another interesting phenomenon: When a joiner later usurps power and takes over the leadership. David Koresh and the Branch Davidians in Waco.
And Heaven's Gate
Love the black with purple swirls rug, in the room with the grand piano...
Should be dark blue🔵
I'm joining The Movementarians.

David Koresh I think it was. Vernan Howell? They recreated their own mount Carmel
The 'documentary' spends half its time specifically discussing the Jimmy Prout case.
It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature
I sent this to the magats on tweeter n Facebook 😂
They'll use it as an instruction manual.
@@thankyouverymuch hahaha 🤣
Why do we need to believe?
Human nature 🤔????
We don't.
It's imprinted on our brains. People who don't believe in religion, believe in something else - ideologies, people etc. It's how humans are made
"I really believe it because I had no choice to believe it". Yes , you did have a choice. That is really bad thinking on your part.
I would like to be a cult leader. It would be legitimate but probably silly 🪆🪆🤡🪆🤡🤡🙏❤️
