Yes both those things are true 60 is the standard but some games can also go to 120.. and some games wont do either...like standard move length is around 1 and half hours but sometimes a movie is far longer... standard is just what things end up being most of the time

It all started with The Last of Us, that was the game xbots said was a walking movie sim. The rest of the first party games was pretty much light or heavy action-adventure games. The xbots even trashed on Hellblade 1, walking sim, cinematic, slow dull combat, puzzle game, short boring game and so on. After Ninja Theory was acquired oh Hellblade was suddenly amazing! Liars and hypocrites.

Get a PS5 if you want 60fps or higher with Vrr, and you can look at all the incredible PS5 first party games which all run 60fps or higher with Vrr while also looking phenomenal and some games like rift apart, and SpiderMan 2 also use Ray tracing and still run 60fps minimum.
The Microsoft devs are lazy and don’t care to optimize anymore as that’s the problem not the hardware, and it’s not only Microsoft first party devs but many third party devs are doing the same stuff not optimizing anymore

For example, I think if GTA 6 is 30, it's probably because the game is very graphically impressive and the world is advanced. Not that they didn't optimize. And if you want 60, you might need decent PC or a PS5 Pro

It's not about standards and this isn't even a PlayStation fan or an Xbox fan issue. This is about people in the game and community in general who are not devs not understanding how games function and then making demands.
The fact of the matter is all games can hit 60 frames. The issue has nothing to do with frames it has everything to do with everything else. The thing that you people don't seem to understand is these deaths want their games to be able to do certain things and they pick and choose what they want to prioritize the resources towards. If they really wanted this game to hit 60, they could drop the graphical fidelity reduce the draw distance. Simply put they could make the game look a whole lot worse and make it run a whole lot better but they don't want to do that. The fact of the matter is a game like God of War or horizon or Spider-Man could look three to four times better than it does now, but those games would probably run worse frame rate wise.
Casein point final fantasy 16. If you listen to digital foundries analysis of that game you will learn that when combat starts in that game, the resolution of everything else in the background drops this is the only reason final fantasy 16 can keep its frame rate during combat. This goes to my point when I say that to do these things you have to lose something and the way they did it in final fantasy. They temporarily made you lose resolution and fidelity of the background so you wouldn't lose frame rate in the foreground but the fact of the matter is that game does not run perfectly at 60 FPS all the time they had to do those tricks to create the illusion that it does because even they knew it couldn't run that way and also look how it is. But you guys ignore all of this because it's a good talking point to s*** on your rival.
And the only thing you do when you demand for every game to be 60. Is it you're basically limiting what devs can do when they make games? Because they're going to have to not implement certain mechanics that use a lot of resources or not make the game look as good as it could visually just to keep that 60 frame rate.

They could've reach a good 1440p 60, easily on their old engine, if what they've shown in their trailer is all we'll get; its up to them to prove me wrong.
You can keep your artistic integrity when your purpose in creating the product is to entertain friends and family. But leave that shit at the door when you want paying customers. We asked for 60fps minimal, this generation. You figure out how you're going to get there.
That's before we mention that it'll achieve presumed stable 30fps with dynamic resolution. No native 4k resolution. Some people are good with 4k30. Hellblade 2 is having none of that.
Let the brand die and wither. The clowns that seem hellbent on maintaining mediocrity and trash will never learn their lesson until Xbox goes offline... FOR GOOD!

It is up to the deck to determine how much of each material is poured in the container, but only one of these materials represents the frame rate and obviously the container isn't going to get bigger so you have to pick and choose what is most important in your game. At a certain point the developer has to ask themselves. Do I want this game to run at 60 or do I want this game to look hyper realistic? Do I want my game to use mechanics that put a load on the system or do I want it to run at 60? How many objects do I want on the screen? What's draw distance do I want or do I want 60?
People tend to not understand the fact that every game that runs at 60 could probably look four times better and do some wild mechanics, but the developer chose 60 frames per second over everything else.
Just like how they believe the "power" of the cloud fairytale shenanigans fantasising that cloud gaming is the "future" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 only tech illiterates believe that nonesense

What I think is that they over-produced the game, meaning they shot all the animations and done the textures in such high fidelity that they had to cut the frame-rate because they didn't want to compromise on visuals.
Ya cause their main goal for the game was the visuals not the frames.
If you want all that (on a console), yeah it'll probably be 30 FPS. So I don't doubt GTA 6 or Marvel Rise of Hydra could be 30 fps

Ragnarok, returnal, forbidden west, rise of the ronin, ff16, rebirth, spider man 2 ratchet and clank all had 60fps modes. Shit some had 120fps vrr modes. Starfield, hellblade 2, redfall. All 30fps only games

TBF, Hellblade 2 is sub-1080p on the Series X (with the black bars), whilst also 30fps! So, if they pushed for 60fps, the Series X will be around 640-720p and the Series S will be yet another game running BELOW SD on Xbox!

I expect the same thing for 1943: Rise of Hydra. That Captain America and Black Panther game. The game looks insane, so I heavily doubt it will be 60 FPS on console. Will you blame the Series S then? You have to be able to think critically beyond just "game doesn't have my preferred performance or they made a creative decision and it's only on Xbox, it must be due to the Series S"
There's a reason you never hear somebody on PC with a 4090 blame a Steam Deck user or 1060 owner for why a game runs bad. If anything, the game being on Steam deck means the optimized it really well for low spec hardware, and that it'll be optimized and run better overall

I think they couldn’t get the game above 60fps without dropping it to 720p internal resolution. These devs seem to care about image quality above everything. Guarantee to play this game high settings 1440p 60fps, you’re going to need a 7800xt or 4070. Those 2 cards are insanely more powerful than the series x.
Ive never heard of a game studio locking the ability to change settings of the game on PC. We saw this with starfield as well. This is just kinda a weird take imo

Why are we talking aboutb the Series S? If the SX could run at 60 they would do it. The S and X don't have to have the same performances and graphics. Some games run 30 on the S while 60 in the X.

I'm fine with a game LAUNCHING at only 30 fps e.g. Plague Tale Requiem, and then patching in the performance mode later on. Having no option isn't ideal

I actually believe the dev in this scenario. They really wanna hammer home hellblade is a movie like cinematic game. That’s why the gameplay was bad in the first game and the 2nd game is barely an improvement. The whole thing about blaming the S here is dumb for the sole reason it’s a single player game. They could just leave the S at 30FPS and have both options for the X. Their decision is stupid but this one isn’t on the S there’s no reason they can’t just leave the S with 30 and give the X the option

What do u expect on a box less than quarter of the price of a pc that can run these new ue5 game's at 4k. I'm still on a rtx3070 and making game's in ue5 & playing test projects bring my pc to it's knees. 500£ Vs 2000£ Consoles are already amazing for what they can do. 4080/4090 is needed for a good experience at 4k with all the sauce in ue5.
Let's stop expecting so much from a cheep ass box when very high end GPU struggle these days probably twice the price for one part.

It makes 0 sense for the Series S being the limitation for framerate. That's not a requirement for Microsoft. Series S can have only 1 mode and 2 for XSX. Redfall was struggling to run at 60fps even on PC and Starfield is a game made by Bethesda. A team that has never made a 60fps console game. Flight simulator is the only game that I could've seen possibly having a 60fps mode day 1 but that game was also pretty demanding even on PC CPU wise. The series S is limited hardware even further than XSX. It basically makes all games cross gen titles in some since because they have to build from a weak box and go up. If anything, 60fps modes should be MORE common on the XSX than on a PS5 because they have to factor the S. The S holding it back argument simply makes 0 sense.

Games targeting around 30FPS or lower can burn, no point for "next gen" consoles for this low level of quality.
Enough with this Xbox Series S nonsense. There are plenty of games that come out without a performance mode on the Series S but have one on the Series X. Even Xbox first party games have a wide disparity between the X and S.
And Redfall has a 60 option on the S.
