Don't buy aftermarket ball joints! Like Lab Coat Paul says, the originals lasted 20 years - the aftermarket i put on lasted 2 years! Do it right do it once!
I have a 2001 Tacoma Base 2wd (5 lug) similar to this truck. To check my sway bar diameter, I took a piece of blue painter's tape, wrapped it around the sway bar 1 1/2 times, then took a knife and cut the tape across the middle and removed it. I measured the length of the tape (in mm) and divided this by 3.14 (pi). The result was the diameter which turned out to be 27mm. In my research Toyota used a couple of different sway bar diameters and sway bar link designs throughout the 1st gen series. Hope this helps.
So I live in France, don't own a car (though I'm interested in them) nor do I have my drivers license yet but I just really enjoy watching your videos

Loctite won't cure in dirty or rusted threads.
Is the process the same for the 4 x 4
It's similar, but the front suspension is different in the 4 wheel drive model.
