Smart Roadster Coupe (452) Spark Plug Replacement

We changed 6 spark plug of 452 roadster. 3 top of the engine and 3 under side. You need to remove rear bumper to change 3 underside spark.

A helpful tip especially with a coupe that needs the glass removed to do the job. Mark round the registration plate with a felt tip pen. Remove the plate then cut out the panel about 6mm inside the line. You can now get to the plugs without taking off the body. Make up brackets to refit the plate but space it out about 10mm from the body and you will improve cooling to the engine as well as getting easy access to the engine.

Thanks for tip, its really hard to work in small gap even remove the rear bumper, but it works if you have right tools 👍

As a roadster owner this was quite informative. But would have been much better with some narration instead of the music.

I'd be checking the engine mounts next, that engine is moving quite a bit.
