Loving your videos. I have been working on my service for weeks and watched a lot of videos. Yours are always the best. So simply explained and executed... Thanks Eli..
Many thanks Eli, really enjoyed the explanation and the way you were innovative by using something from a related sport (tennis). Hope your new centre is going well. A few years ago I did a topspin table tennis camp at Harefield. It was excellent. I remember encouraging you not to give up on the dream! Well done. Kudos to you!!
Howdy Coach Eli. Thanks for more ammunition against my opponents! I especially enjoyed your inspiration for this serve-slice variations on your tennis serve. I hope you're using that slice to go at your friends body and backhand, and serve and volley like a madman, Eli! With your quickness and handskills, I bet you're an elite volleyer. Your explaining it this way helped me, a fellow lefty, to get a good feel for this. I just channeled my tennis slice. Thanks again.
I really enjoy the fact that you are left handed player, it helps me a lot to just watch the moves without having to translate in my head to the other side. Really useful tips, i've started to practice these serves and they improve my game a lot
Very interesting... brushing the ball at 11 o'clock is like topspin, relies on friction of ball against the table to go left; brushing the ball at 9 o'clock relies on the Magnus effect, making the ball swerve right instead... brilliant!
Awesome video. I accidentally used to serve the kudus serve and I never knew what was causing it. I have seen some players do it consistently, was looking for this video to understand the serve
It's really hard to pick which way the ball is gonna swirl.. This is your very first video I watched today and It looks very useful. I'll practice that server now.. It will be really effective.
What a lot of coaching video do is show the shot but never slow it down and explain the tactical idear behind the shot you help me improve my chops long on the table which then sets me up to smash or loop the return.
Your welcome. I try jab serve tonight I left handed to found the inner curve down the line short very effective. If you ever plan a coaching event I love to come. I a good club player ex county there to ex national player hugh Jones and Beth Roberts in my league. They make me look as if I never picked a bat up 😂.
The difference between inward and outward jab serve is the speed. Outward is fast and I ward a bit slow. but in terms of contact no difference. The serves are just excellent.
@@ebatt8803 Well, I've just tried this serve against some of my teammates and it seemed quite effective, thank you again for helping me to learn this serve
Hi Eli Baraty , Very good demo and explanation. You are a left hander whereas I am right hander, is it possible to try Jab from both ends of table? Have you tried? If so, make one video from your Forehand corner too. Hope right hander may try from back hand corner? Awaiting your answer. Shekar
Solid video coach ! Maybe just some casual viewer observations; you are delivering high quality content thus can try it in a more casual relaxed manner which will be more natural and smoother for you too (less stress/stutter). Thanks for the insight again ! Just my 2 cents, and also just subscribed 😊👍
Excellent video, I am a tennis instructor and the bit about tennis serve was right on I use the topspin and under spin serves in both sports. Question for you on blades and rubber. Due to wrist problems and on advice from a physical therapist I set table tennis aside from age 25 to age 60. Now that tennis playing at high level is done, I am back at table tennis. When I played years ago I used a butterfly power 7 blade with sriver 2.0 on forehand and super sriver 1.5 on backhand. I got used to that combination. What blade and rubber is similar in today's game? I was never much more than a 1300 player back then, but would like to get back up to speed. Thanks for any input.
I understand and am able to do the tennis version but have a harder time figuring out to the table tennis version. That kudos serve then would be a topspin serve
Please do a slow lotion of the kudus serve. Now we see only very fast from the front a few times....show it also from the site please. Its very interresting!
Hi! I’ve been following you since I started playing TT. I’m still an intermediate player and I would love to learn this kodus serve. However, the video is too fast for me. Can you make another video with the camera focusing from your side with a slo-mo? I’d appreciate it very much. Thank you.
Hi Eli How do you do this as I couldnt work it out from your video as your blade seems very open and I didn't see you brushing the ball at 11 or 12pm or at 9pm ?
Hi David, Unfortunately it’s so hard for me to truly explain and show via words. I will look at doing an updated video in the near future. I the mean time try your best to contact the ball (at the top ) hopefully you’ll find a solution. Either way experimenting will only help your game and serve. All the best
Looking at this initially, the serve looks great. But from a receivers pov, the way it was shown on the vid, it is border-line illegal. Due to Eli pretty much hiding the point of contact behind his body or his arm.
@@ebatt8803 I have my coachmetabletennis.com rubber bracelet you gave me at all times. Brings me good energy. Cheers and hope we can train together again soon.
only thing about this serve if you are contacting it from those points, the ball is likely to be looped from an attacker. keeping it extremely short will be the hard part
I don't think the ball is actually curving in two different directions. The serve that curve's in does so because you're putting backspin on the ball thus slowing the forward movement and allowing the ball to move more horizontally before it goes past the table. While the serve that jumps out has a lot of topspin so it increases the forward movement thus making the horizontal movement minimal in comparison to the backspin serve. However you can still deceive people between the two.
I am assuming that only top or top side can be produced with the Kudus Serve? Can't see how you would put sidespin-underspin on the ball. Will the disguise video be coming soon? Btw..I heard you are doing a camp in Morrisville, NC this summer?
is this serve legal considering your throwing the ball back towards the body and hitting it from behind body? Im not great with the rules.. how much is let go by the refs in this regard? we can only just see the ball from the camera angle at the corner of the table, but if the camera was in the middle of the table i feel the ball would be obscured by the body when contact is made on some of the serves demostrated.
@@ebatt8803 Thank you for the info. I asked because I watched some game where the referee deemed many serves illegal and we weren't sure why, so we guessed it was because of the serve throw.
nice tutorial thanks! tho I wouldn't call it outward. all u doing is put less inside spin so it goes in more a straight line than curve in. if u observe carefully from the helicopter angle, even the "outward " serve curves a bit inwards until the 2nd bounce, which has no more inward spin and thus jumps in straight line which appears to be outward. I guess... u can call that outward haha

Coach Baraty. You say in the intro section that the jab serve was developed around 15 years ago.
