The fuel foam is designed to a) stop fuel sloshing around when braking/cornering and b) to stop a flame front propagating in the event of an accident and fire. Removing it is dangerous. You should use an e85/alcohol rated foam instead of removing it.
Many of the racing regulations I've seen make fuel foam mandatory.

Are the build need to meet certain rules? My 15 gallon ATL cell is about $1,500 alone and you need check or discriminator valve in case of roll over. The entire fuel cell especially for hatchbacks where these is no bulkhead to protect the driver in case of fire needs to build an metal enclosure to house the fuel related items.

How did you secure/mount the cell to the floorboard?

You want two large fuel filters. Radium is a great choice. 100 micron between the tank and fuel pump and install a 10 micron between the fuel pump and fuel injectors. This is proper build edicate. Not sure why the young man thought foam had anything to do with fuel filtering? Anyhow it is a good idea to remove the ebay foam however replace it with quality E85 tolorate foam. The foam is to prevent sloshing that eliminates your fuel system from sucking air.

Nice work. Doing this next week. Has the fuel line rubbed through the steel braids at the rear lower control arm yet?

Use the stock fuel pump to trigger a hardwired relay to the external pump
The hardwired relay should be powered straight to the battery..at least 12 wiring..10ga preferred

What did you buy for the fuel cell for the rails and fitting sizes I need to run my lines a bit better and try to run a toggle switch for a push to start

Would using the top outlet as the return not cause bubbles in the tank or is that eliminated by the other vent? Also, how good is that fuel pump holding out to this day? I'm debating on ordering from the same brand but it's cheap so I'm skeptical

I don’t think running the lines threw the car is that dangerous because on the older Subarus they run down the inside of the driver side of the car
