@@TheCornerverse Joe Locke said he hopes that he can have more scenes with her in season two. Joe said his favourite scene of the entire season one was in a later episode, where he is sitting at his drums and he opens up to her. A truly emotional scene in episode seven I think. He said that was his favourite scene.
The complete and total lack of "no homo" moments from Nick is what really endears him to me. Even long before he realizes that his feelings for Charlie are more than just friendship, he isn't afraid to sit close to him or lean in to whisper during class, and Charlie's sexuality isn't a factor at all when he asks him to be on the rugby team. I think a lot of people who wouldn't consider themselves homophobic might still express some internalized homophobia by scooting away from Charlie in class or recoiling quickly after Charlie tackles him in practice, getting all wrapped up in "not giving the wrong idea" when really they don't want any spectators to mistake them for also being gay. But when Charlie is clearly hurting, Nick reaches out. One of my favorite scenes that gets overlooked is at the beginning of this ep when Nick finds the angsty pics on Charlie's instagram. Props to the Kit Connor for being able to translate the million thoughts Nick must be having with just a few facial expressions: remembering what he saw/heard from afar about the bullying Charlie went through last year, guilt for not having been part of the solution, shame at still being friends with the sort of people that bullied him, anger that someone as obviously great as Charlie got bullied in the first place, sadness that the trauma probably led Charlie to accepting shithead Ben as his only romantic option, and a determination that Charlie deserves way better and he wants to make him happy. It's such a journey in such a short moment.
Well said! That’s what makes Nick so truly special for me, he doesn’t have a prejudiced bone in his body and I don’t think he ever has. Even while figuring out his sexuality, he doesn’t take it out on Charlie which is a trope that gets played out way too often on TV. What an absolute king 👑
I’m in love with both Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie). The chemistry between them is electrifying! I got tears in my eyes every single episode from all the cuteness. Everything from the dialogue to the cartoon animation is so well done. Just perfect. Also I’m shocked this is Joe’s first acting role EVER. He’s so natural and captivating!
I though of you any time there was hand touching in the series 😂 I love it too! Watched it all over the weekend and have read the graphic novels through this point. The series truly is so wholesome and cute!
The series kinda did Tao dirty. I really like him in the graphic novel, but I thought he was a bit of an arse and not a really good friend to Charlie throughout the series. Maybe that was just me, but idk
It’s definitely explained better in the graphic novel, but their personalities in the show and graphic novel are about the same. Just takes a bit more reading between the lines if you’re watching the show exclusively
I love watching people get excited the same way I did
Can we all appreciate Charlie’s sister? She cracks me up every time she’s on screen.
She’s so deadpan it’s great😂

It is?? They’re both doing so great in their roles! Their chemistry is so natural and believable, perfectly cast🤩
Otis is one of Nick’s rugby friends, he’s one of the nicer ones

This! My least favorite character. I wanted to jump and punch him when he was rude to Nick and hit him with the ball.
@@denko3203 yeah, that just doesn't exist in the novel

I can’t speak too much because I’m not even halfway through yet, so far he seems nice😊
