yess, all of the other reactions i've seen are from people that are already fans of the books so this is really cool seeing it from the perspective of someone new to the characters and story
Ok but can we all appreciate the great representation in this show? We have gays ,lesbians, bisexuals, transgender ppl, ppl of different body types and of different skin colors and literally none or at least most dont play into the sterotypes and common tropes. And most importantly their sexualites etc arent their only character traits. Elle is trans but her story arc doesnt focus on it but still manages to mention the struggles of being trans and even our main storyline which focuses on gay reletionships has many sides to it and the writers made sure that charlie and nick had personalities beyond that
I also love how they focused on the story of Nick's crush on Charlie and not the other way around. Gives you like an insight on how people discover they are part of the LGBT community. And honestly? NICK SAME "am I gay" SEARCH IS TOO TRUE
This stories are so important and it's so emotional that we are getting them and that kids nowadays can grow up with them and feeling more secure in themselves 😭😭😭
I wish there had been shows like this and "Love, Victor " when I was struggling to accept myself and come out in the early 70's. But it breaks my heart that young members of the LGBT + community are still being bullied and harassed. Be proud of who you are and don't let ANYONE shake your confidence in yourself! Don't give close minded homophobes that kind of power over you!😉

the way i knew tara and darcy were together from the first scene where they in the background wrapped the scarf around themselves and the "Gal pals" just confirmed it lmao
No cause Tori is literally my favorite character. She's so supportive and just hysterical how she's always just showing up out of nowhere always holding a glass with a straw. Like how ominous and amazing, ya know?
The final episode with her comforting her brother is one of the best scenes of all time imo. As somone who often feels the same ways as charlie, hearing her say it to him makes me cry like a baby every time.
one thing I love in the novels is how every time Nick's cool rugby friends appear they always have their names next to them (although I always forget everyone but Otis lmao)
That scene where Nick and Charlie are at the drums had me saying “now kiss” with a huge smile on my face. This episode and the next one I could not stop smiling and squealing (something I haven’t done in a while). P.S. I find it so heartwarming to see so many people share their stories about coming out and trying to explore their sexuality bc of this show ❤️
Holy crap have we all googled That question when we were baby gays? Is that the rite of passage? I felt so seen by that scene. I love love love this show so much. I binged it all in one evening. I love that they let us see Nick falling for Charlie too. I also thought it would just be Charlie's POV. Elle is also such a sweet character. I'm glad they gave her great friends to bond with at her new school.
I am a 36 yr old straight married woman with 3 kids and I watched this show with a huge smile on my face all the way through its so cute.. 12 yr old daughter has just started reading the books and thought I would watch it to see if it was suitable foe her to watched and eneded up binge watching it 3 times in two days..
