The 6500XT is serviceable so long as you stay away from the VRAM limit. It's the connection between the GPU and the system memory that's suffering from the limitation. And all of the issues stem from it being a laptop GPU that was amputated from it's APU and slapped on a PCB.

@@DawidDoesTechStuff Yeah... if it was about a $150 card or so, it would have been a lot more well received. I think you're spot on with the 5300. Had they released that for around $130, it would have sold like hotcakes.

I mostly agree, but you still probably need gen 4 or else you could take a performance hit. For example, from what I've in cyberpunk 1080p low the 6500 goes from 49 fps on gen 3 to 60 fps on gen 4 same settings. But the old 5500 xt 4gb gets 60 fps on both gen 3 + gen 4 same settings. Cyberpunk 1080p low only needs 3gb of vram so it's not running out. What's probably happening is the game needs more bandwidth outside of connecting to system memory, and x4 pcie lanes in just not enough on gen 3 but the x8 on the 5500 is.

Buyer tip: When trying to save cash with the 6500XT, think twice before double-dipping on savings with an Intel F-SKU. It will cost you streaming capability. If you wanna stream, spend the few extra bucks on a non F-SKU to get that Intel iGPU and it's included encoder.

Well, we are just about about to hit a huge energy crisis where electricity will increase by a whopping minimum of at least 50%. I'm a bit disappointed that the 6500XT beat it so soundly since they're the same price, but in all fairness the T600 was intended to be used as an incredibly efficient workstation card at only 40W, and not as a gaming card. It also has Nvidia's encoding tech and 4 DP outputs.

What I'm really wondering in this comparison is how the T600 would do if you could turn on DLSS. Although it's built on the Turing architecture, I'm not sure how many of the features it supports. Absolutely agree!
Reviewers trashed it as it has no encoder support nor more than 2 video outputs, completely ignoring that:
      A. All modern CPUs can do video encoding/decoding just fine
      B. Not everyone is a UA-camr/Streamer/Content creator with need for hardware encoding
      C. Very few people who can only throw less than $200 on a GPU would have more than 2 monitors to begin with.
      D. It's the only NEW GPU in stock at MSRP, and at that price tag.
It also received a lot of hate as it only has 4 Gb of VRAM and won't be able to game in high settings in 10 years anymore. Since when do people expect to game in ultra settings and keep an entry level GPU relevant for more than a couple of years? Put textures in medium (or low on demanding games, or even high or ultra in older games, it's all depending on games) and as long as you stay under that 4 Gb VRAM cap, the 64 bits bus won't be an issue.
It's an entry level GPU that does as good as top of the line GPUs from 6 years ago and with half the power consumption. It's absolutely fine.
It's also always in stock, and nowadays can even be found under its MSRP in Europe.

Running it in a Audio workstation (Ableton Live), smooth as silk and the HDMI audio doesn't interfere with my ASIO drivers. The 3100 had consistent spikes that were a bloody nightmare, and really didn't like my multi monitor setup. The biggest advantage to the 6500 XT is having Radeon Super Resolution support. Upscaling from 900p to 1080p gives you a pretty good performance boost and adjusting the sharpening enough actually makes the game actually looks sharper.
