Words to live by, "If it doesn't feed you, don't water it." - Me
I just saw your disgusting comments on Twitter about skin bleaching. How dare you say that, especially given the amount of hate and racism against Asian people at the moment.
Why did you feel the need to add to that?
Unfollowing you immediately
Why did you go private on Twitter sweetheart? You can’t just say shit about something you don’t know and runaway.
I'm always in awe by how you use your platform to set realistic skin goals and normalize real skin. Loveeee it.
I get soooo freaking excited when you post a video!!! You really you know your stuff, because social media doesn’t show/talk enough about REAL SKIN !!!
we’re so honored that our CELEBRITY esthetician has graced our presence this afternoon.
Which celebrities has she worked for?

@@Midnight0Mistress when/where?
My skin loves CerVe Renewing Retinol Serum and Naturium Azelaic Acid. They both are affordable IMO. The Renewing Serum was my first step to using retinol. Now, I'm using a low level of tretinoin but I highly recommend both of these products.
Sisssss!! You giving us alllll the gems! Thanks for breaking down texture, making it clear, and offering products. You always keep it real and I really appreciate you!
Thank you for being so concise and informative about this, I know having someone explain these things is such a relief for those who need help and don’t know where to start. You are amazing!
THANK YOU !! Thank you so much for this video and talking about actual acne scars, when I talk about my scars everyone just thinks I’m talking about redness or hyperpigmentation but I have deep scars :( but thank you so much for this video
Hi! This video was so helpful, thank you! I've been struggling to treat the textured parts of my skin and now I finally have some direction. 🖤🖤
My skin has been going through it after beginning medication for my anxiety. Ice now stop all those meds, but I've been left with some darkness on my cheeks (where you would put your contour) and I've been having some hormonal break outs as well (also due to the meds). This video came just in time!
Hi, look into your vitamin D levels you can ask your Doctor to check your Vitamin D levels to make sure you’re not deficient in Vitamin D. I heard that low vitamin D levels can effect your mood. But do your own research on that. Also darkness on the sides of cheeks can be Melasma. Melasma can occur in women that are pregnant or if your on birth control or be hormonal but also you can do your research on that as well. GOD BLESS.
What you said on Twitter was disgusting. As a dark skinned Asian you offended me, I hope you will apologize for this. You are a grown person, you need to act your age and apologize + learn from this. You are very ignorant and seem racism towards Asians
Perfect timing, never had a acne problem, maybe a pimple or two occasionally, now that I'm doing a face wash routine, oil cleanse, wash, tone. exfoliate 1-2 times a week, sunscreen, retinol once a week, refresher spray, my skin is all over the place with breakout. Currently removing certain products to try and find the cause. Removed retinal by cerave because I thought that might be it but I will try it again and stop using the face cleanser.
I literally just “discovered” you not even an hour ago , and I'm already 4 videos in ! I just loveee your honesty , no beating around the bush . I make natural skincare products . I had a question though , can you do a video of your thoughts on Urban Skin RX if you haven't already ?
keep up the great work , Queen 🖤
THANK YOU this was such perfect timing! I've FINALLY managed to clear my skin with you, Dr Dray and Hyram's advice but haven't been able to figure out how to get rid of skin texture!
Yes totally. On to the next quest..
How did you clear your skin
@@LifeGuru16 this is a long explanation so if you don't have time to read it I've put the products in bold and I'll put them at the very bottom, although I recommend reading it for context. This is also a combination of advice I've obtained from Dr dray, la beautyologist and hyram - skincare experts on UA-cam
BACKSTORY: I have dry skin and used to get fungal acne on my forehead, between my eyebrows all the time, my nose and blind spots on my chin and also nodules, whiteheads, and blind spots completely covering my cheeks and black hyperpigmentation marks from where they were. MY SKIN CURRENTLY - I still have hyperpigmentation although it's now lightened and my skin no longer breaks out apart from occasionally near my jawline when my period nears - rn I have 3 spots on my face from plucking (i don't want to deceived you into believing my skin is completely clear) and that's it. PRODUCTS FROM BEFORE/TO AVOID So products wise I stopped using a lot of products due to being desperate to clear my skin quickly I was using an unbranded tea tree face wash, raw tea tree oil, witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, a charcoal scrub and the clean and clear dual action moisturiser, all around the same time which were extremely strong and harsh, contained many fragrances and I didn't realise I was damaging my skin further. Those products were extremely drying, even for oily skin and all of them should NEVER be used on your face. I firstly found out my skin type was dry after believing it was oily for so many years because I had acne, which was where I had mostly been going wrong. I was also following the advice of people on UA-cam with no qualifications and doing no research on the impact following this type of advice would have on my skin - for example using acv due to seeing other black woman using it and clearing their hyperpigmentation, not knowing how strong it was or sensitising, and using it in the summer making my skin react worsley and making it even harder to clear my hyperpigmentation. I firstly stopped using the old products after learning how damaging they were and seeing their impact on my skin, and simplified it to just 3 PRODUCTS - a very simple face wash containing no actives or fragrances, just to clean your face solely - *the simple refreshing face wash 100% soap free* which is £1.80 (around $3), *simple soothing facial toner* which was the same price as the face wash, and the *simple replenishing rich moisturiser* which was £2 so again, around $3 - there's a light one if you have oiler skin or want something lighter, although the other one mentioned isn't that heavy, but again I have quite dry skin so it may be just me who feels that way. All these products are just simple with the purpose of cleansing and hydrating and no extreme impacts, as I had to simplify my routine greatly to give my skin a break from all the chemicals and damage I was exposing my skin to. After about 3 months of just this, my skin started to clear of some of the acne slightly, although not greatly, but my skin stopped worsening. After my skin became less sensitive, I began incorporating ACTIVE INGREDIENTS into my routine - for fungal acne on my forehead (malassezia in proper terms), *nizoral antifungal shampoo for around 10-15 minutes daily for around 2 weeks until it cleared*. I already had it at home but it's around £10 (like $13) but comes in a small bottle so if you need it then use it sparingly. Then I started using *glycolic acid* as it was recommended *for hyperpigmentation and is a form of chemical exfoliant, a type of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) which is gentle and good for dry and also sensitive skin*. The ordinary one is what was recommended but I couldn't find it in stores, so I bought 100ml of superdrug's naturally radiant 5% glycolic tonic glycolic acid for £3.50, about $5 and then used the 300ml bottle for £5, like $7. But if you're not from the UK the ordinary one is $7 and more widespread. That helped with hyperpigmentation and pretty much all of my acne and skin texture. I used this twice a day and the bottles lasted about 3 months for the smaller one and 6-7 for the larger bottle. You're supposed to use some form of sun protection alongside as it can make your skin sensitive, and it can also NOT be mixed with some other actives but the ones which work for black skin can be expensive so I don't use it, I just used it in the winter and spring months and stopped in the summer. I used *niacinimide serum which can get from the ordinary but I got from boots for £5. It helps with hyperpigmentation, is hydrating and also helps with skin texture* - I used it in winter and it really helped with skin texture and a little bit for acne, although not as much as the glycolic acid. The only thing is it's not exfoliating, although doesn't risk sensitising the skin like glycolic acid, and can be used anytime. I used it daily and sometimes twice a day for about 1-2 months until it ran out. Then I used *creightons hyaluronic acid for my dry skin which is very hydrating and also helped with skin texture*, before applying moisturiser, and can be paired with all other actives. I also started using the *simple waterboost face wash which is more cleansing and hydrating, and good for all skin types*, which was £2.50, or $4ish. For *hormonal acne near my chin and jawline I used a turmeric clay mask by botanical lab* which was £2, although it contained fragrances and was drying so I stopped, before I used it once a week, although *any clay mask is good for hormonal acne*. All these products helped me to clear my skin, as well as adhering to doing the routine regularly, avoiding products containing fragrance (may be listed as limonene, linalool, hexyl cinnamal) and alcohol and products with too many ingredients, changing my pillow case regularly and INCORPORATING NEW PRODUCTS ONE BY ONE OVER TIME SLOWLY in case of having a reaction to be able to figure out what was working and what was not, in case of having a reaction. It's also recommended to use sunscreen whether you have dark skin or not, to prevent worsening hyperpigmentation especially. I haven't tried these but the ones I've seen recommended for black/dark skin: supergloop invisible sunscreen, neutrogena hydro boost, la Roche posay and black girl sunscreen. You would also need an oil cleanser to remove them properly.
*Face washes - all skin types: simple replenishing face wash, simple waterboost micellar facial gel wash*
*Toners - simple soothing facial toner, glycolic acid toner 5%, superdrug/the ordinary*
*Serums - boots/the ordinary niacinimide, creightons/the ordinary hyaluronic acid*
*Moisturiser - simple replenishing moisturiser, rich or light*
*Other - clay masks for hormonal acne, nizoral shampoo for malassezia, boots with hazel gel for spots !contains witch hazel and alcohol! , but it can be used on areas w acne where there is excess oil built up*
@@rukayath6674 thank you so much, i have the exact problem !
I have incorporated the Mandelic acid (Mandelic Acid 5% Prep Water) and Niacinamide (The ordinary) and I am seeing progress in my skin texture. It’s a slower process but effective (when I stay consistent with my routine).
Sulfur is sooooo underrated I love using it in the spa!

I so wish you were in my city but I'll take what I can get. Thanks for giving us all this free info.
I am learning so much from your super educational videos. Thank you for all this excellent information!! I am starting to oil cleanse my skin and wondered if you could create an AM oil cleansing video. I am not sure what the steps should be in the morning if I have oil cleansed the night before. My skin is extremely oily, bumpy texture, acne prone and I have rosacea on my cheeks. Not sure what to use to moisturize after the cleansing and toning steps before applying makeup. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated!!❤️❤️
Just in time. You don't understand that this is something that I need and you popped up on point. Thanks sis 🙋🏽
Thanks for the information about the products, it’s appreciated. Ignoring the rest.

im asian...do you have some kind of skin bleaching joke to make for the cambodians out there? shout out!!!
I'm going to leave this everywhere: you've got to be joking about her being the colorist one. Have you not seen how colorist Koreans including BTS members are? They joke on their "darkest" member routinely and have even been caught saying rude remarks about some of their international dark skin fans who come to their shows. So i dont even want to hear it nor do i care. And I'm glad she doesn't either.

can you do a video on what chemicals/products to use together and what not to use together (if they cancel each other out, etc)?
Hi! Can you do a video on dry + acne-prone skin? I'm sorry if I missed it when I looked through your vids. Lots of people associate acne with oily skin, but there are tons of people like myself who struggle with products b/c acne ingredients usually dry the skin out more, and then we have to rehydrate/moisturize more which can be counterproductive. ughhh Thanks for your help!
I so love and need more of your YT videos! 😊

I think it’s funny how everybody has something to say about how “culturally insensitive” La Beautiologist but turn a blind eye from Hyram when he got over defensive about being a white guest judge for black owned businesses and didn’t even make a yt video or tweet apologizing. The selective hate is fucking astonishing. I wish y’all went this hard for non black folks and how performative the are. You didn’t say anything wrong or “colorist”. Most k-pop do bleach their skins and DO wear foundations that makes them look ghostly.
literally
I'm just love all the videos
Thank you knowledgeable as always. Can I use retinol and azelaic acid together or choose one?
Acids plus retinol don't mix well together. Retinols work better at night time, decreases UV damage from daytime use. The acid can be used in the morning.
I can't wait to try some of these suggestions!! Just an FYI your discount code doesn't work - I want you to get the credit with the brand... Wondering if I should wait to purchase or not?

Hi Nai! I have large pores but I also deal with allergic breakouts…very fine bumps due to pollen and certain foods. Do you recommend the healing ointments for this?
I really want to try that PTR mask. I used the Dr. Dennis Gross sulfur mask in the past but sulfur at that percentage is no longer available OTC in Canada anymore so I can't buy the DDG or the PTR sulfur masks. Sigh
Hello! Thank you so much for this amazing and thoughtful video. The code for Naturium is not working at the moment.

Is the BHA from Paula’s Choice a good option?
any product recommendations for dry skin ?
This is why you save your coin and go to the professional because this is too much to keep track of lol
How would the Biologique Recherché P50 lotion (exfoliating toner) work in your routine. Would it replace the first three (tone and exfoliate and tone) steps?
So, I use Azelaic Acid and Niacinamide (Paula's Choice) but I got recommended Naturium's Azelaic Acid last night (Amazon) cause I need to repurchase, so I wanted to know if you ever tried the PC version and if so, is the Naturium version better. 🤔
So I ordered Naturiums azelaic acid and I’ve notice fading on my dark spots. But from research Paulas choice azelaic acid is suppose to be a lot better. So I ordered hers and currently waiting for it to come in. Because I’m curious to know which one is truly better.
@@RadiantPineappleSkincare I genuinely wanna know what u think between the two, because i recently bought Naturium's Azelaic acid, but I've heard the Paula's Choice version is supposed to be more effective!
I have the PC azelaic and it’s very irritating, I guess cause of the SA in it too. I found the ordinary one to be better but it had silicones and weird texture. I have tried the PC one now 3x and every time it irritated my skin.
@@mclovin7065 the texture of the Ordinary brand AA is why I decided not to try it (I did research and immediately cancelled that out). As for the PC version, oince it irritates you, I would say not to use it (cause that seems to do the opposite of what you need it to do).
@@baybeetricia the TO azelaic acid is silicone-y like a primer. I find silicone-y products pill when you put them under other stuff so when I use this, it's my last step of a pm routine. Goes on easier that way. And it still works without being the bottom layer. I like it. Imma try naturiums, though.
I wonder would sulfur help with an eczema dry patch on the face?
My only issue with the Naturium’s azelaic acid is it doesn’t actually have azelaic acid in it. It has a derivative. And I understand why they’re using the derivative because the texture/application is typically better (although I guess this is still somewhat subjective), but it’s just kinda misleading to me to label the product as azelaic acid. Anyways, love your videos and knowledge!
Heeyyyy!!!!! Are you going to bring the skincare routine sweatshirt back?!
