@@thunder2ray242 it's about the right effort you put into your relationship. Marissa has tried over and over with Jean, but at the end of the day, they just aren't compatible. Josh and April had it going a whole lot better, but Josh's fear and projection held them back. It's only when Josh faced these fears and openly talked to April about it did they both realize that their future together isn't as bleak as they are making it out to be.

    • @TAPex011

@@thunder2ray242 Here a perspective a guy's view and what a guy is willing to do. Keep in mind this is not me and i will never do this or have I ever done this.
Most guys like Marissa's baby Dad will always say things like, "I am sorry babe. I promise you in have changed. I promise I won't hurt you or cheat on you. I promise you I will and have CHANGED." Keyword changed. Most guys will only ever promise to change enough for the girl to comeback and stay but will never truly change for her. She will always fall into that trap and cycle that "he will change because I made him and got him to change for me the way I wanted him to. " I have seen so many people in bf/gf relationships and married go round in circles with this. The girls always gets fed up and move from them. Then they have this logic that now all guys are like their ex. Thus the toxic relationship is birth from this cycle. That is why relationships are they way they are now. Tip ladies never force a guy to change.
Being real here. A guy will never change for a lady. He will only change if he was the giving 90 percent of the love. That is right 90 percent to 10 percent of her love in the relationship. He literally has to be head over heels for her then he will change to whatever she wants him to be and in the process the guy will lose himself and be burned at the end. Pretty much tuck their tails between their legs.
I have always seen these perspectives and scenarios. The other way I have never heard or seen it happen because not too many relationships can be saved or salvage because it takes 2 to rebuild the relationship. Although I have seen where 1 changes and adds in value back into the relationship and other sees it and wants to the same. Closest I have seen. They were mostly married couples who were at the end of their ropes and was willing to save their marriage. They were committed to each other.
Today no one is like that no more. They give up too soon because truth be told they don't have a support system and their foundation was shaky as well. They needed to restart and redefine a new foundation but most will not do it because they lost too much time and what happiness they have left.
I am not married or divorced. I am not a relationship but I have learned and studied from others who I want to have a similar relationship like. I just happen to have great examples and terrible examples in my life of what each relationships are and be very good at analyzing each one.

    • @seatheparade
      @seatheparade 2 роки тому +5

Mmhm. It can be tricky to know the difference, but personally I feel like people should look within to see if ultimately the foundation of their relationship is solid. Like if there is mutual respect and genuine care for each other, if their core values are mostly aligned and if their hopes for what life direction they want to take is viable to create together as a couple, then it's likely worth working on the relationship. If key things aren't aligned/is impossible to align even with effort then it's quite likely that the relationship isn't meant to be.

I couldn't emphasize this enough but they have shown how we have diverted from the traditional story of exes getting back but instead have parted ways for good, leaving an immeasurable impact on both of them that changes their lives forever. I love the fact that their conversations were the main focus of the finale. Even we felt the comfort amidst the awkwardness between the two exes. Both were searching for long lost happiness and when they met, they found it, although not in each other. Marissa, who has always tried to make things work with Gene, found the confidence to end it for good and focuses on herself, which is why she was humming at the end. Josh, who has always been running away, finally decides to hold on to April. Both wanted to end the cycle they were in as they got to hear different perspectives from each other. Beautifully written and played. ❤️

I was barely leaving home to be on my own as an adult. Your 20s changes you so much and I’m not the same person I was back then. The words that hit me the most. "I got comfortable living in fear; doubt." I don't know when that will change. I wish that it will be soon. I still miss you after a decade. You shown me what it was to love, be loved, and broken. I'm getting older and that's not gonna stop, but what I wish to stop is to stop living in my past and to start being uncomfortable again.

I think it’s perfect the way you guys ended it. Unlike most movies, they feed us what we like to see how we like the outcome to be when in real life, it’s really not always a happy ending (not to say Marissa and Josh wasn’t happy in the end. They had closure, and brought them to realizations of things.) Thank you for putting another piece of art together that we couldn’t express with our own words but you did it for us. Please do more life relatable series like this please! Lol.

The main characters find their happiness in their own ways that is reflective of what their characters was struggling to find. Amazing story and looking forward to more stories from a long time Wong Fu fan :D

10 years ago, I was still a kiddo without any relationship experience and Strangers Again was one of the guidelines that took seriously. Looking back, i was kinda naive to think that its a one size fits all solution to all relationships. I thought communication and simply talking things out were all it takes to make one's relationship successful but i neglected many things like compatibility, interests, irrationality. We really took things for granted when we reach the comfortable stage and its a really dangerous trap!
I do hope there will be another strangers again sequel 10 years later, maybe by then i can relate to this sequel even more! Coming out of a 3 years relationship couple of years back. I do hope I will be able to have a proper closure to my relationships, finding one's direction, able to see different perspectives the next time i come back to this video. Only time will tell. Divorce is something that I hope either of us have to go through. Even though it can really toughen the shit out of even the weakest person, but its not something that anyone deserves.
On the side note: Isla is super adorable. I cant wait to see her reaction 10 years later!

God, when Strangers Again came out I was a sophomore maybe junior year in high school. I was in a weird space at that time, with a girl for what felt like eternity but was a year then on and off, so sad, mad, happy were all apart of that. We actually used to watch Wong Fu shorts like Nice guy all the time together. Strangers again stayed with me, close, I cried, laughed, and I still shed a tear watching it now 12yrs later and I refer to that video still. With watching Strangers Never Again, its almost verbatim how my life and hers went 12yrs later. We have our own life, family, kids, and before that all happened we did this, met up, talked and officially had that closing, we we’re both lost. That closure helped me and I’m sure helped her because after her I was a better version, like Josh and Marrisa. Ya’ll need an Oscar of some sort. Everything is clear🙏 remember “thanks to a shoe lace”

I remember watching the original Strangers, Again when it was first released it. It resonated because it brought up recent emotions and spoke to me on a personal level. Being single and in my mid-30s, this film series speaks even deeper than the first. It's a surreal feeling of having such a strong connection with a film that I don't think happens very often, if at all. Everything from the story-telling, to the acting, to the filmography is top notch, and per usual of WFP films, I appreciate that there are multiple endings (e.g. Marissa vs Josh) to this story. I can go on about how it personally connects to me but just know that as a fan from the late 2000s (since Just A Nice Guy), I wholly appreciate the time and effort the entire staff took to make this film.

I didnt think that this ending would be this much satisfying and so much more romantic than them getting back together. I always felt like Josh f#d up and needed second chance to get back, but that was me 10 years ago, learning about relationships mostly from wong fu videos. Thank you so much. This has given me perspective on my relationship and place where i am at life too.

Only discovered this sequel now, but I wanted to throw in my appreciation for it. It helped me better come to terms with my own experience of going separate ways with a special person (which coincidentally was also around 10 years ago). Although I may never get that chance reunion, I can at least look back and appreciate those moments that have made me a better person today. The thought that they will never really be a "stranger" to me is weirdly comforting.
    Anyways, amazing series, well done!

WONG FU IS AT IT. AGAIN!!
Ohmygooosh you guys!! First off, thank you, for celebrating Strangers, Again -- the very first video that got me into your roller coaster ride. I was young back then, and had no idea of what was going on, except for the fact that I became so sad of Josh and Marissa's ending. And years later, it still gives the same impact. And now THIS. Strangers Never Again was just beautifully written, for it gave us a peek at Josh and Marissa ten years later and how they are as individuals struggling to find the meaning of love to where they are now, just like the rest of us. I still cried, although this time, it's because it was the kind of closure you don't ask, but is an ingredient you needed to really cherish what you have. Congrats WF! Looking forward for MOOOORE! 💙💕

    How far you've came !
I remember watching Strangers again 10 years ago and being blown away by it !
And today, 10 years later, you just did it again ! It's funny how it makes the original indeed feels like child's play in terms of maturity. Your writing keeps on moving forward, and digging deeper and deeper in the intricacies of life and relationships, and I love every fiber of it !
Thank you all so much just for existing and bringing your talent to all of us. People keep saying you should get noticed by Hollywood and do "proper" movies or series, but I feel UA-cam is just where your home's at ! There's no way you could have such a wide reach and such a long everlasting influence in the shark's pool that Hollywood is. You're already long past that pigeonholed "asian community represents" with your movies, which are now speaking about life itself, but with an asian flair to it.
Props to all of you, the level ups have been delightful to watch, and long life Wong Fu !

And we did acknowledge the impact we had on each other, and amicably parted, not as strangers, but as a reminder of the things important to us now, and the things we learned from our past together. xoxo
