Upside Down Fire - Thunder and Rainstorm - 4 Days with a Canvas Poncho Shelter in the Wild

Rain, rain and some more rain in the north. But I like it more than the heat. Started out with a clear night and slept under the moon though. My Bohussäcken (for hunting and fishing) with chair is my new favorite pack even though its pretty small. It's waterproof and lightweight. I never realized before how nice it is to have a chair with me. Not just to rest, but when you sit down now and then on a hike you take in the scenic views more. I also noticed I saw more animals this way being more still.
The Lavvu poncho performing perfect as always. I'm just amazed by this fantastic piece of canvas. And I thought I knew everything about this poncho but by mistake I learned something new. The flaps needs to be on the inside when you set it up as a shelter... that is obvious if you look at the armhole design. On the last day however, wearing it as a poncho, I took it on in a rush inside out, in the morning when it began to pour down. Normally it is totally waterproof when you are still. But when moving around in heavy rain eventually there is some moisture leaking on your shoulders (But overall it keeps me much drier than modern rain gear anyway). But with the shoulder flaps out that didn't happen. Its logic when you think about it I just never gave it a thought.
Nice to be out but sure... I was kinda tired in that last scene lol. For fun: Tell me what my thoughts were in that last sequence!

I have learned a lot from you and I have been challenged to survive without food, without water, without shelter, without fire. I started exploring the forest and looking for wild vegetables to eat, building my own shelter in the harsh rainforest. In the evening I went to catch frogs and stayed overnight.... many things were really wonderful. 🤗🤗

I love the rain! I live in a temperate redwood rain forest. Many residents here flee to Mexico for the winter rainy season, I live for it. You seem to enjoy it also, not many people set out to camp IN the rain! Enjoyed the tutorial on building fire in the rain. And the cool carving - self portrait or Swedish Wood Gnome? Envious of the plentiful and gorgeously pristine Boletes (and chanterelle) you find everywhere. Bacon and boletes, doesn't get much better than that. Personally, I thought you looked quite Zen-like in the final sequence, like Buddha contemplating existence. Keep posting these great adventures my friend, we'll keep watching!

Function is beauty. My favorite: the curled wood for starting the fire. It is so pretty and just cute. Every precise setting of the wood for a good fire in any circumstance demands a certain structure, as I see. This is a creative art. The meals look so delicious! It's better, away from the equator. Just not TOO far. Where you live, I don't know if there's a similar climate. Swed's far North, low elevation, with some maritime effects, I think. You'd have to be on the highest mountains in Bangladesh to come close, and even then, I don't think you'd be high enough. I'm high and dry in the Rocky Mts.

@@harrymills2770 It's not the same. We have six seasons here in Bangladesh. Winter, summer, rainy, Autumn, Late Autumn, Spring. It goes 18-16 degrees in winter, some parts less than that. But no snow! Bangladesh has beautiful mountains but not so easy to go for. People who love trekking they goes there!
