Was -17 C yesterday here in Småland. SOmehow these cold winters remind me of the 90's when i was a kid. All day, everyday out playing. Skating in a hockeyrink we kids cared for ourselves. The memories. Our of those childhood friends, i have lost 4 and had to end friendship with one. Life moves quickly.
The best tool is any tool that does the job and it’s there when you need it. Great stuff as always! Anything can break or get lost/forgotten at home, it’s always better to have alternatives.
I wish the entire planet smelled like fresh fatwood! It is almost intoxicating. And your right that was the perfect fire. With basic knowledge being in the wilderness is like writing music. Let your senses tell you what to do and before you know it you are proud of what you've done.
Several video's back, year or so, I commented that you remind me of someone that isn't just a "bushcrafter", but rather, I believe you continue to be a student of your craft. That is made even more apparent from your entry above, talking about the history and tradition of the Sami, the copper mine, and the tradition of the fatwood lights and lanterns. You are an inspiration on numerous levels. With the new year fast approaching, I hope you and yours continue in good health, and long, happy trails. Roger
I love the beauty of winter, the biting cold (as long as I can get warm when needed), the different sounds the snow makes when you step or lay on it, and the taste of food cooked over a fire. Thank you for your video and letting me enjoy those things through you.
The action itself filmed in vid is rather simple, not been "patched up" by lots of "survival tips". And it is ok. Most impressive thing to me was the magic lighting of near-midwinter night. Very good! And your commenting text for the video is quite remarkable too!
Appreciate the effort to show folks how things were done centuries ago. Many of our youth are lost in cell phone space but there are many still seeking the beauty and solitude of the woods. You live in a beautiful place. May your axe stay sharp...and your mind sharper.
Thank you for the kind comments. It's a shame really. The youth here in USA are being brainwashed and hypnotized daily though many still enjoy the solitude of nature as well as hunting for food.@@HimachaliCamper
Love seeing the snow falling like that and beautiful campfire, very captivating. Exceptional scenery, the grasses glistening with snow crystals - spectacular
I can't add more to comments that hasn't been said already. You made me hungry again even after eating dinner, you inspire me with your neverending innovations and beautiful cinematography. What an incredible journey you're sharing with us and tell the story like no other!
You out-did yourself this time; in addition to the demonstration of your skills, this was beautifully filmed, and, I am sure, painstakingly edited. It is so kind of you to share this with us. Be safe, and enjoy the forest.
I love your videos. Not only because of the enormous peace that they convey, but above all, because of the great beauty of their images. Those aerial images of impassable and majestic snowy forests are absolutely wonderful. I congratulate you, you live in a really beautiful country. Enjoy it a lot and thank you for sharing your experiences from which a lot can be learned. 👍😉
Your videos are amazing! This crazy world lacks something like that. Thank you very much for allowing us to enjoy the beauties of your beautiful country.
-16c = 3.2 degrees Fahrenheit for my fellow Americans out there. That’s a chilly one. The coldest night that I’ve been out camping in was around -14 degrees Fahrenheit. I kept my two 1.5L water bottles that were both in insulated sleeves in my -20F rated sleeping bag with me that night, and we all stayed very warm. That night I stayed in one of the many free to the public shelters on Vermont’s Long Trail, a 3 sided lean-to at Sterling Pond in the Stowe area of Vermont. It’s snowing like mad outside today, and watching a Swedewoods video makes me want to pack up and get out there!! - Jason/Freedom Fighter Until Death/Vermont, DSA (‘DSA’, meaning “The Divided States Of America”)
My favorite vegan fresh tomato pasta sauce is made with chopped kale, mushrooms and chopped walnuts. I add pured sundried tomatoes to mine. It is such a delicious combo. I just love your aesthetic. It is what makes your content stand out, in my humble opinion. The way you film, what you film, the quiet, the scenery, the food; so simple and decadent in the way it is all handled. Hard to put into words!
I enjoy watching your video. It would be nice to return to nature and such a way of life. I am 38 years old and I have not enjoyed modern life for a long time.
Your videos are not just relaxation, camping and bushcraft, it’s like real meditation, immersion in everything you do! I watch your channel with great pleasure! Thank you !!!
Great video so far. I've loved "fat wood" or "fat lighter" since I was a kid making fires at my Grandmother's house as a child at Christmas time. With that experience comes a little bit of knowledge. Beware the off gassing of large amounts of freshly split wood. I sent my uncle home with a car load and he got light headed while driving. He stopped at a store and bagged up all the wood in trash bags for the rest of the ride home. Just a thought for all you kind folks. Peace.
I love how you stay civilized by using a plate with that yummy looking winter pasta. I would of ate it right out of the cooking pot😉😁 Another wonderful video! Thanks for sharing🏕
I just figured how much stuff he carry into the wood... oh my godness... A pan, a pot, oil... at 24:11 you can hear him using a pepper-mill... WTH... half a kitchen!
I come from Vietnam. and you know. In Vietnam, only a few northern provinces have snow. over 95% of our country is snow-free. and i really like camping theme videos
Swedwoods👍👍 Awesome! Interesting fact on the Arran fire. I can see in Sweden a rock ring is not needed account the abundant moisture but here in the states, if an open fire is allowed on federal lands and forest anyway, it has to be contained one way or another per regulations. Usually a rock ring is used to keep the fire from spreading/creeping to adjacent combustibles, we're much dryer here. I go camping etc. to have a good time not survive, so I make fire any way I can period and agreed on the naysayers.. Filming was award winning as usual, the drone shots are epic, well done. Fires and food was Swedwoods all the way, I'm warm and full. Thanks for the winter adventure, the snow and cold there makes up for the lack of it here in the desert southwest, I knew it was close to Christmas time... Enjoy!
Oh I know what dry is. My humus enriched soil around here is disaster waiting to happen. In summer this is also important. You can make a ring sure, but the important thing is not to let the fire creep down into the ground. So always fire ON rocks. Its essential not to have a ring elevating around the fire because: easier to ignite because of better airflow, it heats your body better and faster, it burns better with less smoke. Some awesome books out these days on the matter. And yes, we have all been doing it wrong!

I think this version of the tent is the best for spiritual hikes Thanks for the video.
What is the name brand of this lavvu? I really like the removable peak. My son is interested in hot tents. It would make a nice gift.

The last sequence when your walking away from the campfire was magical 👍👍
You basically turned your tent into a large twig stove...love it.
Ну и как всегда отличное единение с природой!!!
dank dir für die beeindruckenden bilder und den geschichtsunterricht !

Beautiful, mesmerising imagery on the ice. You are the best possible ambassador for your country. All best wishes to you and your family.

Tu fais aussi bien ça !
You are a unique natural person. I learned a lot from you.
Another great video! Best camera set ups on UA-cam. Visual of the campfire smoke laying on the snow packed lake tells you how cold it was.
Thank you my friend!
My gentle giant I don't know how I missed this trip but I enjoyed every minute 😊😊😊
