- A fiery exchange has erupted in Question Time on Wednesday between Health Minister Greg Hunt and Shadow Industrial Relations Minister Tony Burke over the issue of vaccine supply.
The heated exchange took place in Parliament after Mr Burke asked the Health Minister why vaccine supply issues were currently taking place in the COVID-19 hotspot of Lakemba.

That entire dialogue is just the major political parties throwing up a smoke screen, and the media failing to call them out on real issues. Ask yourself this, what percentage of all diseases and deaths are from _preventable_ disorders? How many of the "comorbidities" associated with covid deaths are the product of suboptimal diet and lifestyle choices? What would the consequences of a vigorous public health campaign to improve the diets and lifestyles of Australians, over the last year or so, have been, and how much better prepared for the inevitable would we have been? The federal and state governments have been doing many things, but *they have failed to do the most important thing* to reduce the load on the health system and reduce the numbers of people who are vulnerable to serious covid disease.

Tony Smith dealt with the situation very well, quite a fair and good Speaker and will be sad to see him go when he retires at end of his term at next election.
