Hello, Rachel. I am a heart patient. The main reason I would make my own seasonings is to make them with NO SALT. My doctor recommends barely any salt in my diet and store bought seasonings have lots of salt. Thanks for your very well made seasonings. I just leave out the salt.
I too have atrial fabulation problems and salt is one of my triggers to throw me out of rhythm. When I have blood test done they tell my salt levels are to low and to eat more salt. That very hard to do. But I do have to get a little intake in because if I done I start feeling bad and fatigue with no energy level. Get a little salt in I feel better. I doomed!
Careful with the salt substitute as it is made of sodium potassium & can increase your potassium blood levels esp. if you are on potassium meds or if you have kidney problems. Check with your doc or dietitian before using those. Try using Mrs. Dash table blend or her Original blend, Southwestern blend of Mrs. Dash to replace salt. Contains citrus which gives a nice flavor when on restrictive or no salt diets.
A good addition is to put on a Christmas sticker Rachael's address for the video on how to make this. That way they can make more or get into Rachael's recipe videos.

Other than driving across Texas across I-10 (going west from Louisiana to California), I haven't been back to Texas since my mother passed away in 1960---I was a 16 month old baby, then. You recipes mean so much to me because, I can use them to meet and get to know a lot of Hispanic people! I love all races of people. But, for some reason, I have a greater affinity for Hispanic people.

I also use Mason Jars and the white lids for spice mixes, freezing, storing, etc. I place a piece of scotch tape on the lid and use a Sharpie to list and date contents. The tape comes right off the lid before I wash it. I have never had the tape come off in the freezer or cabinet and I can re-use my lids very easily. Made this seasoning tonight for our taco's for 2 pounds of hamburger. We used the whole thing! It was delish. My husband eats gluten free and was happy I could save money and make my own healthy alternative to all those packets! Thank you so much! Will make a BIG batch next time.

Check out in the spice ilse in most grocery stores. There are salt substitutes. 😊

i also make a type of all around seasoning….I call mine Mickey’s Rub and my son and daughter are always happy to get a jar. Funny thing is that I put almost everything you also use and a few others…..Love your channel and your recipes also they way you have to share them, may God bless you always.

Made this seasoning tonight for our taco's for 2 pounds of hamburger. We used the whole thing! It was delish. My husband eats gluten free and was happy I could save money and make my own healthy alternative to all those packets! Thank you so much! Will make a BIG batch next time.
