That was very helpful. We are praying about moving from IL to SC. Aiken and Greenville are the biggest contenders. I love Aiken best so far but the hubby is looking more into Greenville. Still doing our research. Thanks for sharing this info. It really helps.

I have a cat that I was taking to a specialty vet clinic in Tallahassee and they’ve referred me to CVET since I ended up moving to Aiken. They had lots of good things to say about them.

I love the idea of country life and feeling at peace around horses. I have lived in Phoenix for 10 years and have felt so muzzled. This town doesn’t encourage friendliness and is very self-indulged. How are the after work activities in Aiken? I.e., Happy hours, beer/wine tasting? Community meet ups?
Thanks for watching! It sounds like Aiken might be a place you would enjoy. We always have activities, festivals or events going on all year round. I will say, there isn’t a huge night life scene but overall there is a lot to do. Yes, we have an awesome place that does wine tastings, a tap room, a local brewery and another nearby, free live music events and festivals downtown, etc. I’d love to send you my local guide so you can learn a little more about Aiken..let me know if you want a copy! ☺️ -Lindsey
But does health insurances, in particular Medicare Advantage & Supplement plans, work in 2 different states? I didn't think so.

Folks, not all of this is accurate. Keep in mind that the charm of Aiken comes from the people - Southern hospitality. There is no way to retain that as it becomes more and more diluted with folks who have no idea what Southern is. It's not something you learn.

In a true emergency that’s still too far
It can be a bit far, but it also depends on which side of Aiken you live on, it could even be 25 minutes. It’s the same if you lived in the rural, outskirt areas of town and having to drive into Aiken. Some people live 30 minutes from town. Luckily a few local clinics are considering a change in their hours to offer more emergency care in the near future. -Lindsey
