Only thing that makes me hesitant about the Fount Inn or Simpsonville area is medical care. The hospital has a crappie rating.

I lived in Anderson from March 1988 until September 1995 when I move back home to Columbia. If I could live anywhere else in the state of South Carolina, it would be back to Anderson, South Carolina. If I am ever fortunate to do that, I would probably Want to be on the side of Anderson from the hospital past Anderson University in that area. There's some nice mid priced older neighborhoods that were built like in the 60s and 70s and early 80s that would be really great to live in.

We are looking at possibly moving a small bakery equipment manufacturing business to the outskirts of Greenville. We find that South Carolina could be very friendly for business startups. We’ve lived in South East Florida before, but it’s too far down in the State and hot. Currently in the Toronto area, but to do business in Canada is both very expensive, and impractical and with too much red tape and costly overhead. Hoping to make beautiful Greenville South Carolina home for business and pleasure !!

Aiken has become just as violent as Augusta. I moved to Augusta in 1995 and I use to not be afraid to go out in public. Now I dread going out in public or to Walmart or the Mall. Before you move to either place you should check the crime statistics for both. Look at the number of gun violence.

Don't let this beautiful lady fool you. NORTH CAROLINA is far SUPERIOR! The only thing better down there is seafood cooking. There is nothing comparable to Raleigh and Charlotte NC in South Carolina. You can get the same affordability of South Carolina in NC Smaller cities like Winston-Salem are basically the same as Greeneville, Greensboro is similar to Columbia, and Wilmington is similar to Charleston. South Carolina might of grown faster percentage wise but North Carolina clearly adds more people every year 3rd most in the country (140k annually).

Looking to move from Florida to SC in the Aiken or smaller areas in the northern area. I am retired and wanting to know more about the costs of home owners and auto insurances. Also taxes compared to our outrageous $ here. Florida does not have state income tax so do either SC and NC offer any breaks?

Both Carolinas are great. A big difference people don't often mention is the eastern and western differences, such as weather, bbq, culture. Each state has their mountain regions and beach regions which is amazing for both.
