Can't believe the cameras in this era didn't have the guidelines. It's ridiculous considering they were available on other models in the previous gen. Massive oversight. I'm trying to figure out if the older/newer gen cameras can be fitted in place and gain the guideline functionality. Any info on that is appreciated!

So basically some times it works sometimes not ! I guess is the lid that doesn’t allow the cam to come out as when it comes out it works pretty well! Do you have any suggestions for me pleaseeeee???? @@killerhertzmercedes Yes thats Power (+) and ground (-), but where's the 3rd cable for the Signal??? You didnt Show it in the Video. You Show only how you install Power and ground.
@@z.m.5612 signal input is really from "Reverse lights" - You can pick it up near SAM source or trace it from the rear LED lights. Every car model has different wirings specific colors (need to get diagram for your VIN # for a 100% match) 👍

Hey, really struggling to get the black plastic strip off, any advice? I have disconnected the lock and all the wires. I have squeezes the licence plate light clips but still not moving. I thought it might be the handle but I see that goes out with it
Yeah I remember that being really tough - there is a plastic 'C' bracket which goes between the handle and the locking mech if I remember correctly and that needs to be slid out (I could be wrong as its was over a year ago!)

just wondering if its possible to retrofit parking sensors to an a class with none i have a bumper available with pdc, is this already in the main consol or will it be a tricky one. i heard that all the data for everything is in the centre consol it just needs to be turned on via a mode?? a180d se 2015

I have a s550 it has the actual camera in place when I put it in reverse it only shows the check your sorrounding lines. I checked fuse and there is no fuse it only has one wire contact instead of two. Any idea how to fix.

I bet you a soda the wire brake is where rear HARNESS MEETS THE TRUNK bundle... don't just go poping your front console to see the video connector is plugged in solid! 👍
Awesome very informative, just little confused, the original wiring harness came with green connector which goes to the rear sam unit, however do i need to open the fuse carrier in the kit and insert in the fuse carrier on the car or wire? a bit confused why they supply with the harness when it’s already there? Thanks for your reply.
@@killerhertzmercedes I did pay the professional to install mine same spot as U but on the screen shows the line wasn't straight when reversing., Yes It does make a difference. Not saying at the boot button but maybe drill in a lower part like number plate and under the rear bumper. As in all instructions for a reverse cam says must b at center.
it's hardly amazing bargain priced '17 Honda (ACURA in US) have all these must have options built-in including leather seats... plastic seats are not available such as in E-class
The aftermarket camera that is fitted to my 2013 mercedes c class has stopped working after doing a factory reset of the head unit, all I see is a black screen. The system info is as follows: MCU Ver: 615085dFY-N4.5-G-D-C-200113 APP Ver: Ksw-P-Userdebug__OS_v3.8.7 System Ver: 9-8953EA MCU Upgrade System Recovery Any ideas how I might get the screen to see the camera again? Sorry no, just use a multi-meter on the pins whilst pressing the brake.

Sounds like the cable is fraying in the bootlid hinge, or there is a faulty/loose connector.
Can I do the similar thing to my Mercedes’ w221? How much is the full setup ?
Which green socket did you plug the fakra cable into? Left or right? (looking form the back)

Hi, I used a Multimeter to locate a live pin within the SAM, then use the nearby earthing point on the chassis.

You will need to get the car re-coded on the Xentry system.

I do all same like u in Video with same Part numbers and I also switch the grenn Socket from left to right and it didnt work.

The grid/moving grid is a newer version of the COMAND system, you cant enable it unless you replace all your COMAND system £££

Both have green connectors but are ever so slightly different sizes (if I remember correctly!)

Is it possible to locate at the center. It should be at the center when reversing.
The handle to open the bootlid is in the centre so it cant be located there. Its only slightly off-centre which makes no difference.

You would need to get it coded on the system however, there isnt an option to enable it manually.
