@@WatchItPlayed Just have the video flip. No need to reshoot. And, if you can, have the effect be that the world goes darker and the colors muted (or gray).
I know right? I've actually had an idea for a Twine game telling the story from Will's perspective, but i'm afraid that that game will never see the light of day, because i'm way too ADHD to ever finish something that complex.
Brilliant explanation (once more), Rodney! These Watch It Played-movies are really top-notch. Kudos for you and the team. I got the game last week and I’m now even more looking forward to playing it. Thank you ever so much.
I didn't even know this was coming out until a few days ago when your video popped up. I immediately thought it was a game we would enjoy and I pre-ordered the game that very evening. It arrived yesterday, and I finished off reading the rules this morning. The rules arent too complicated and are presented quite well throughout, then as always (if available) I finish off by watching a 'Watch it played' video to ensure I havent missed any rules. Now I feel confident and ready to deliver 'the teach' tonight. Looking forward to introducing this to my gaming group, it looks like a blast. Thanks Rodney for creating content that has become a must view in how I learn to play new games but is never dull and is always enjoyable to watch. Great stuff 👍.
Such a kind comment for you to take the time to write Marcus, thanks a lot - I really appreciate it and I'm very glad you've been enjoying the videos 😀 Have a great time playing!
always great to see you content Rodney! i watch almost all of them and i usually pop these on for the table to watch the rules as i'm setting up for the night. Makes it clear and concise :)
Very clear and concise, a pleasure to watch. As a Stranger Things fan and an avid board gamer, I've got to try this one. Although I enjoy all kinds of board games, I prefer ones like this where the players work together instead of against each other.
I'm glad I watched this. I always thought you could move out of a space with an enemy, I didn't realize you had to stay and fight if you start your turn on a space with an enemy.
I thought you can move out of a space with an enemy if you start your turn on an enemy space, you just can not do the space action, you must instead fight the enemy? I understand you can not move past an enemy space, but if your turn starts with an enemy on your space can you move or do you have to fight the enemy first?
Let's take this in parts. First off, if you "start your turn" in a space with a foe, you can leave that space, as it says here: ua-cam.com/video/GJxO3mwow5c/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=349 (also on page 10 of the rule book). If you are in a space with an enemy (either because you moved into that enemy's space that turn, or because at the start of your turn you didn't choose to leave an enemy's space), then you must use your action to fight it: ua-cam.com/video/GJxO3mwow5c/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=440 (also page 10 of the rules). Hope that helps!
Wow, I've never seen this show but I know it's so popular. This will be right up so many gamers' alley! Great teach!!!! Hopefully lots of gamers will enjoy playing with friends around the table!
Just received the game yesterday - thanks for making this!!!!!!!!! I quickly ordered a second copy - I was surprised to see it at my door when the preorder said May 26. Great surprise! Just subscribed to your channel, although I have seen many of your great videos before.
@@oneysnyder2116 First game was ordered from GameNerdz, but they are out of stock, so I went to Miniature Market just yesterday and ordered my second copy.
Nice one, my copy arrives tomorrow (UK), i ordered a few days before it sold out, think its gone under the radar, your video has indeed got people interested...
I’ve only played season 1 but I don’t understand the comment at 17:42. When would you HAVE to fight a foe with no cards in your hand? I see the rulebook mentions this as well.
Hey Justin, I can't think of a situation off the top of my head, but I think you can assume there might be situations ro scenarios that "could" make this possible, and if, so, this rule is to cover that situation.
First. Rock on! Thanks for the Rules explanation. Now, I assume there is not item discard pile from the rules. It just says to shuffle it back in the deck (where as at 8:51, you say to put it in the discard pile). It's weird, but I think it can be a hard thing to remember than when refilling the Ally/Patrol or adding to the Lab on the board, it doesn't have the top token revealed (because that's what you do during setup).
@@WatchItPlayed the rules also have a side note "REMEMBER: Characters can have up to 2 Items at any time. If a player would get a 3rd Item, they must choose 1 to discard.". You only shuffle extra items back into the item deck when choosing which item to take. I assume the discard pile is the disadvantage of already having 2 items when you want to add a new one; therefore the one you no longer want goes to the discard pile and won't be available to draw again next time.
So, I watched this wonderful video, read the instructions, played Season 1 solo with 3 characters and lost. Came back to watch this video again and realized a made a few mistakes - go figure 🙂 Thanks again for such a wonderful explanation of this game, and to be honest a bunch of other ones on your channel (I would say all of the ones you have done, but I haven't watched every single one) :-) Shame on me! But, this game is now one of my favorites, being mostly a solo gamer, but I have two daughters that love Stranger Things (as do I) and they have been away this weekend, but we are planning on playing co-op tonight! That is why I needed to kick the tires solo, and then come back and watch you video :-) Note - my second copy should be here tomorrow - I bought the 2nd one after watching this video. Here's hoping another set or two will be done to encompass Season 3, 4 and the final! I can't stop saying thank you enough! And CMON has posted an official Eleven dashboard - printed, laminated and ready to play 🙂

That's a tough one to answer, as I never feel comfortable trying to assess for someone else what a game "feels" like. What one person might experience could be different from someone else. For what it's worth, I felt they played quite differently, but again, that's not to say you'll feel the same way.
There is an option to download a dashboard to use Eleven as a playable character. If you do this no character can use the Help Eleven action. Does that include Eleven herself or can she use those powers by beating a stack there?
If you draw the scene card Search Party, saying the enemy moves 2 locations towards you, and you are only 1 location away from the enemy, should the enemy still move 2x and skip over you, or will they stop at your location?
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!
Just played my first run of this game today. Does anyone have a clarification on the Karen Wheeler card. If in possession can I use her effect on myself to go back two spaces on the fear track?

Are you forced to fight if a foe moves into your location due to drawing scene cards? Or can you leave the location in your next turn and avoid fighting?
You are not forced to fight if they enter your location due to a scene card , and yes, you can leave their space at the start of your turn. Hope that helps!
Note: When you gain more items than you are collecting, the extras are shuffled back into the Item deck (not put in a discard beside it).
