    A thought on the media time-management/short form:
    The algorithm is ruthless. You know this. I would recommend a second channel dedicated to shorts and short -form. Yes, it's a whole new channel with no audience yet, but from what I've experienced and also seem from other UA-camrs, it will be better in the long run. Keep your long videos on "Out of Darts", and make a second channel called "Out of Short Darts" where all the short form content can be found.
    Edit for some more context: Essentially UA-cam has two algorithms; shorts and traditional. And it will digitally assign you as either one type of channel or the other. Mixing them tends to throw off the engagement numbers.

      I'll take a closer look into this! Thank you! Logistically, it may be challenging to implement this, but we'll do some more research about what's the best way forward.

      The problem I have with 'Shorts' is, I can't scroll the curser back to repeat something you said or showed, I have to re-watch the whole thing from the beginning, I can't download it for later reference. I hope you keep your build guides to 'longform'. I guess your reviews will be short form, I'm not sure I would enjoy that as much. Just some honest feedback.

    • @outofdarts
      @outofdarts  8 місяців тому +1

      @@mainstay. I'm not sure how long ago they implemented it, but you can scrub through shorts by dragging along the red progress bar at the bottom. Before that feature, yes, I agree it was slightly annoying.
      As for our tutorials, we will always have a crystal-clear longform version for people to use, even if we also make a hyper-cut for shorts. Thanks for your feedback and happy modding!

    As an assembly engineer, i love seeing this kind of content. It's exciting to see progress you have made on your lean journey and I am looking forward to seeing how you and your team tackle the remaining lean opportunities. What tools do you have to help identify and implement lean improvements going forword?

    • @outofdarts

      We've recently added on a new person, and we've taken about as much time training him as he has helped develop better systems. Since he hadn't worked in the previous system, he could better identify places we could improve. In the future, we're looking at having co-workers trade places for a day and timing tasks in order to achieve that goal similarly and more sustainably.

    not the most important, but a suggestion for the "grocery": have a "fast mover" (most frequently used parts) in the lowest row, and then the rest sorted alphanumerically. This is common in pharmacy practice, but there are also way more drugs than bins from what I saw in the clip

    Love everything. My inly critique, keep paper towels in the bathroom. Hand dryers can bebkinda gross, sometimes something disposable is best. Also. Wanna keep towels? Hire a laundry service... Or make your kids do it.

    • @outofdarts
      @outofdarts  6 місяців тому +1

      We still use a minimal amount of paper towels for sanitizing and other purposes that require single use. We also keep on top of daily bathroom cleaning, so we can confidently say the hand dryer (and the wall below it) is cleaner than in most other implementations.

    Thanks for the video. Learned a lot for our own operations. I am thinking about dropping some SKU's too, yet, as we also do lots of print on demand its hard to decide wether to do it, as the parts don't need any storage (besides some space on the SD card). Of course, if the items turn out to be somehow faulty and there are complaints it seems to be easier to just remove them from shop instead of trying to fix everything. Would appreciate your thoughts on that! Greetings Vlad from Ausgeknipst

    You might not be at the scale for this yet, but I love Impinj's RFID systems for tracking movement and asset/inventory locations. It can reveal where a lot of other inefficiencies lie and makes inventory management easier.

    Will the MTB Honey Badger motors be coming back? I really like them for basic Stryfe modification and I noticed that they are out of stock with you and with Containment Crew. Also, I really enjoy the behind-the-scenes look. It is very interesting as well as helpful as I acquire more tools and modify more complicated blasters with more parts.

    • @outofdarts
      @outofdarts  8 місяців тому +2

      Blastertech decided to pause the production of their wholesale hobby motors indefinitely. Because of that we can only sell what MTB motors we currently have in stock. The Honey Badgers just happened to be the first to go out of stock.
      We might design a replacement motor in the future, but we don't have an ETA that would be helpful to anyone.
      For anyone needing a motor with similar stats to the Honey Badger, Meishels and Fang ReVAMPeds will do in a pinch, though neither have quite the same RPM.
      Glad you enjoyed the video, though!

    I mean this in the nicest way, but if you think just buying a lot more expensive tech is simplifying you missed the memo.
    That’s a lot of extra expensive label printers that aren’t needed.
    That kind of Expense spending kills businesses in the long run.

    I really wish you guys would of put a survey out there for what people use/what people want. Just cutting 200 skus is kind of rough. Like i went to build a blaster, the Printables linked to all sorts of your items, but none of the are in stock. This could be a big issue moving forward.....

    • @outofdarts
      @outofdarts  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your feedback! Would you care to link to this blaster on Printables?
      We've thought very carefully when removing SKUs from our site, and only after looking at how many we actually sell on average in a three month period. In a way, these sales analytics are a survey of what people want and use, and keeping something on the site that only four people order one of in a year is just not practical.
      However, if you think that there's something that's glaringly missing from our site, shoot us an email! If there is sufficient demand, we might just add it to the site in the future.
