- This is a behind-the-scenes look at our warehouse and print farm here at Out of Darts. We've certainly come very far from my garage, and we're about to go farther than ever.
This is NOT sponsored, but I do have an affiliate code for purchasing Original Prusa 3D printers below (It's worth mentioning in the 5-year channel history- this is my first affiliate link):

When you dream of a small business and then you see this...
And your jaw drops.
I love how highly this guy speaks of his employees.
I just ordered more or less every part out of dart had available for the Perses and kronos. The customer service, shipping and Lukes personal touch to everything is absolutely amazing very few companies can you talk to the owner of and also get him to reply to you when you ask a question or have a problem. Luke personally answered my questions and helped me through a wiring issue with the perses. He even went as far as emailing me a picture of the wiring diagram and personally drawing where I need you to wire in my parts. I was just very impressed and want everyone know what kind of business hes running and how awesome out of dart is.
This video is unbelievable! That is such an amazing setup/organization/process etc. incredible!
Thanks so much!
Love to see how much your business has grown and the behind the scenes of what it takes to keep a successful business going. Thank you Luke!
Saw "3d Print Farm" so I clicked.
I had no idea that modding nerf guns was a thing or one that could support $40,000 worth of Printers depending on how many Minis are coming.
Very Cool, good luck in the future.
So awesome to see that this hobby is able to produce and support a fantastic business like OOD. I had no idea you guys had grown this much, but it doesn't surprise me a bit. I've lost count of the number of times Luke and team has helped me with random questions and issues while navigating custom builds, and your shipping speed, item selection, and prices are all top notch. Can't wait to see the continued growth going forward!
Looks awesome! My family was in the spring business for over 50 years, it made me smile to hear how you work with springs and do a lot of that work right there!
8:41 this makes my inner organization and color harmonization monster sing with approval! I can tell you have and your team have an eye on "details", which I can completely relate to.
Great job! As a LEAN practitioner in the manufacturing world it is very exciting to see a small start-up following the ideology so early in development where it can really become ingrained in the culture. What a great mix of things I love. No kidding, I'm a little bit jealous! Keep up he great work!
Amazing tour :-) I really love how you turned 2 passions of yours (Nerf mod + 3D Printing) into a successful business. Your optimism and energy radiate during all the video and it should be awesome to work with you. Keep up on the great job.
OoD
Wow that is a super fantastic look at your shop. Thanks for taking us around for a behind the scenes look at your operation. You rock thanks for all you do for the hobby.
Loved the video, Luke! It’s inspiring to see your shop as organized and efficient as it is. Super cool! You’re a busy man though. Respect!
Didn't think I'd see you here lol. It's a small world after all. 🌍
@@shimshimity5667 me too!!
I've been volunteering at Seattle Makers. Thank you so much for turning your print farm to making Face Shields! After hearing from Joel (Aka 3D Printing Nerd, who stopped by with his camera) about your print farm, It's awesome to see it. Thanks for this video and helping with the PPE shortage!
Thanks for the tour and congrats on your success! Love the organization and shipping table flow 👍👍
Thank you. As you are a small business i completely understand the struggles, and im glad you guys are working thru it. awesome wearhouse.
I'm always impressed how quickly you guys get your stuff out after an order! :)
I was literally thinking about it, and you mention it at the end of the video; I love seeing how far you've come from your garage to this. I remember the crazy proton pack video and wondering if it was going to be legal at the first Endwar back when I ran it. I love your progress and glad to see you're doing well, and I hope for many more innovations over the years!
Thanks, that was fun. Great job on the organization. I've got a small 10' x 15' work area and can't keep it clean 😀
After watching a clueless guy on youtube showing off his messy farm with shit over the place this is really refreshing. Very pleased to see this kind of work environment, everyone can find things to learn from this.
So hyped for the proton pack!
This was an awesome video Luke, stay safe and thanks for all you and your team do for our hobby.
“You didn’t see any of this.” - Queue the B-roll. Lmao
Awesome tour! Thanks for your work.
it's always nice to see business tours about how they lay out their factories.
Luke - Great lean operations!! Very impressive.
Absolutely a wonderful video and story!
Your tour was really cool. I have aspirations and this is encouraging.
Fantastic organization and shop! Great job!
All you need is a ton of cad knowledge and the right market.
Wow, your shop looks amazing!!!
A+ on transparency and humility on successes and failures. Having read 2 second lean, you know you actually have way too much space... Gemba!
Awesome ! You've come a long way.. It wasn't that long ago we were hanging in your garage watching one printer work..
Nice clean operation, keep up the good work!
Very nice setup. Well organized and efficient given the constraints and competitive demands to save money.
Awesome site! You have a facility there that is efficient and clean. Love supporting you!
wow, this is fantastic! i do pretty much nothing with nerf, but wow, this company looks cool! thanks
I use Atomic Filament almost exclusively, was super excited to see you got their neon green on the shop! Looking forward to more colors in the future.
RZ Rider hell yeah bro!
@@atomicfilament5825 I love Atomic Filament. I have been buying your Jumbo rolls to make all my 3D Printed Gold Prospecting Gear. Great Stuff!
Great Video,Thanks for the tour.
Great video tour Luke!
I really enjoy videos about the inner workings of business.
Luke is an absolutely amazing person and business owner
Thanks for this inside look
Well done indeed! Keep up the good work!
Impressive shop. Just recently discovered the sport/hobby of Nerfing. From watching one of your videos. Have always been curious about Rival platform. Now, cause of you videos, has convinced me to order a Jupiter blaster. Can’t wait to build it and shot it. Thank you for yours and your teams hard work.
Cool
How did the build go? As you said, you just recently discovered Nerf. Maybe a bit much for a first project...
To get rid of the many open spools, some Prusa MMU2 would possibly help, as you can simply add 5 spools and use them as it would be one. Great Warehouse btw! Super clean and organized, love it!
Your shop is just awesome, thanks to sharing that with us. I'm proud to have OOD in our official partners !
Great to see where all those packages come from.
You've come a long way from that guy who showed up with a Zeus at BURN. Really proud of you man.
Awesome bro 👏
Thank you. I have follow from Joe video to this video now and is a inspiration for me to try and get my dream to make a 3d farm a go.
Mad respect for the way you carry your shop, bussiness and team! Clean and lean... Well done budy! Them walls are never gonna get painted eh? Most of them are hidden behind a wall of boxes anyway ^^
Out of Darts most important comment there is ‘for a few years’... you have your growthrate planned to a T.... Good on you ^^
WOW! You guys exploded since the vid with Joel! Happy to see that!
Wow yes i do love the look of the warehouse snd the print farm excites me love the wrk and the time you put into your product awesome job bro and keep it up
I LOVE MAINTENAING MY PRINT FARM! :)
Impressive Prusa farm!
I really like what you already established. I have started with 3 Ender3 and I wish some day I will have my own shop.
Awesome video, luke
I feel you so much about humidity... I do some calligraphy in my spare time and recently it has been too humid to do anything for literal weeks
fantastic! thank you for making this great video. I would like to make a small farm someday
Very inspiring!
Excited for you congratulations on your success I wish you nothing but the best in the pursuit of your passion thanks for sharing
That is an awesome place.
This is awesome, and really #warehousegoals!
Liked, and i hope to see you one year from now!
Thats so funny, he uploaded this video yesterday morning, and it got taken down, he re-uploaded it, absolute legend
Awww man this is incredible to see! Wish I could have a zoom meeting with you to run down the numbers, work hours, limitations, and other stuff just for curiosity sake :). I'd probably sound like I would be interrogating you though lol.
Its amazing how big of an operation you can sustain with what seems like a few dozen printers.
I love the fact that I watched this right next to a printer using Proto-Pasta. Stuff is amazing!
Out of Darts Thanks for the recommendation!
This is awesome...we started with 12 Ender 3's but starting to switch over to Prusas. Will have 6 mk3s+ and two minis soon!
Cool stuff!
I did one of the blaster wrapz kits and i liked it. It would be pretty great for you to carry some of that guys product to help his business.
the world 3d prints top fans that s great make every thing you do as your favorite one and perform it with passion
great stuff!
As a former manufacturing consultant it looks like you could scale production better if you used 3D printing for prototyping/low volume production and used traditional injection molding for high volume production.
We're already working on injection molding for higher volume items, like our Tachi magazine. Before then, it was really hard to justify the upfront tooling cost that injection-molded parts require.

Seeing the Perses hopper and Jupiter, I think it'd be very cool to see the hopper have some sort of adapter that allows it to be connected to the Jupiter, making it essentially a paintball style blaster.
If it isn't that easy as making a magazine adapter then perhaps integrating the hopper into the Jupiter, making it hopper fed, would truly be amazing for those of us who want to use the firerate and compact nature of the Jupiter to an even greater potential!
@@outofdarts Just saw a previous video since I'm new to the channel, now I'm aware of what the pack is and boy will it do more than what I thought a Perses hopper and Jupiter integration would!
Lose the plastic totes for opened filament spools, and go with resealable plastic 5 gallon buckets. Put 4" of white rice in the bottom of each bucket, store filament rolls inside each bucket with the lid sealed tightly, on top of the rice. All humidity problems solved.
I am so excited to see nerf wraps because I suck at painting blasters and I would love to see a product that makes it so much easier.
I was happy to hear you mention 2 second lean. I love that book and have such respect for Paul and what he's done at FastCap. When I saw your warehouse ship and pack stations, I saw the inspiration from them. Well done!
6:09 dang that printer in the bottom is doing a great job
This is so inspiring omg
the Dart Show How?
the warehouse is Fantastic!
wow. come such a long way
Dude , your shop looks awsome. I wanna work there😀
amazing video and business set up!, well done.
Glad you liked it! We're hoping to film an updated tour in the next couple weeks!
@@outofdarts looking forward to it! We are a domestic 3D filament manufacturer. Let me know if you need some premium filaments. BTW, I sent you an email today.
great job!
Man I'd love to pick your brain on all of this. I do project management/software support for a living and am super curious about your setup and software. Really awesome to see you pushing into LEAN.
Quite beside my love of foam-flinging I mean.
I feel like I just watched this video yesterday.
Rob E hmmm that’s suspicious
Ya, there was a version of this uploaded yesterday that is now private. I was half way through watching it, stopped, came back to it later and it as gone. Anyone know why?

@@esoterra1024 Maybe they had to go in and censor Corona virus. UA-cam has labelled the word as not advertiser friendly, so they might have re-edited it to make money on this.
@@esoterra1024 there was a shot that said frame need cropped
@@brandendunagan8822 nah, the different video I saw yesterday still censored "Covid19" I think Luke ended up filming a prototype that we were not supposed to see.
@Out of Darts: get a filament joiner (or make one your self )and make full spools of those partially spools.
Nice farm! Josef Prusa would be proud :)
Brilliant!
Awesome ! 🙂
Great work

Luke is more efficient than multi-million dollar companies
Might want to try desiccant packs for the humidity in the plastic cases. Would probably fit your immediate needs.
Thank you, sir.
You don't need larger premises for a while. You've got enough headroom to convert those racks to a dual tier installation by extending the uprights and suspending walkways between the racks. The uprights might need extra strengthening depending on the shelf loading but it's all very easily done. I used to be a salesman/designer for an industrial racking and shelving manufaturer and used to love designing that sort of installation. You can double your usable space if you've got a high enough roof like yours.
Thanks for the tip! We actually just moved into a new space last November. We're continuing to maximize space and efficiency, and that does include better use of our industrial shelving, as well as some other improvements.
inspiring!
Awesome video
Ziploc sells a bin that has a foam rubber seal and snap-down handles that make sure the seal seals- this is how I store my humidity-sensitive stuff (with silica gel packets). They aren't much more expensive that any other brand of bin, and you can find them at major retailers (Wal-mart, Target, etc.)
