That happened to me as well, I contacted breville and they told me the machine does that when it's very overdue for a descale, and judging by the fact that I had it for 2 years without descaling it made sense I always used purified water so figured I just didn't need to descale as often I now descale once every six months and I haven't had the problem since!
I had mine for maybe 5 years and never descaled it and never had an issue other than it tasting not so great anymore and ending up going out for coffees daily. Only today I learned of that little spot where to descale 😆 and now have descale cleaner on the way, a new filter, and beans.
thankfully, hasn't happened to my Oracle non-touch after 9 years of continuous daily use. Haven't descaled it as often as I should, but better than never doing it.
Same happened to me, had 2 replacements in 2 years under warranty, and now happening again. I descale MONTHLY, and this still happens (in addition to water coming out of the water spout by itself instead of the portafilter. Problem continues even after turning the power off.
Have you replaced filter and descale every 2-3 month? Harder water is expresso machine's enemy. Even if you can get Rocket Espresso, you still have to be careful about hard water.
:Poop happens. For a machine that price I'd get the extended warranty. I have the Barista Touch and while still under warranty the mother board went nuts. The repair process was very easy, they sent a box to and shipping tags and I sent it down to LA. Missed having it but it was repaired and returned. I had an issue with another one that I purchased at William Sonoma and I only had it a month and they didn't even quibble, said bring it back and I did. I ordered another one. The one I have now has been working great. My brother has had his Oracle for years and it's been wonderful;. He had one repair on it and HE is lucky because he's in the Bay Area and there is a company in Oakland that repairs them. So, there can be a problem, especially with the mass manufacturing, with any machine.
I would never recommend any machine unless it had got through its warranty period anyhow, but in social media if you dont review it quickly you miss the boat.
@@JoeyVaracalli The machine actually knows when it needs to be descailed and will tell you as much, it should then stop you using the machine, its more likely a bug in the firmware or a design flaw in the steamer, so i think sending it back was a better choice than keep descailing till the warranty runs out. These machines are supposed to be premium and command a premium price so they should offer premium reliability not just premium looks.
DON'T BUY IT!!! I got the same machine....... last year, I had to get it fix .... this year, I had to fix it 2 times, and it's only 3 years old. This time, it cost me $600 au to fix it (now out of warranty......

That’s interesting glad it fixed your problem

Honestly I've had some amazing love & luck w my touch hopefully the ring will fix it
What did you end up doing? Warranty replacement? Service?
Yeah sent it back in there was a charge to do it

Sure did but rocket actually doesn’t recommend descaling that much as a heads up
would RO (reverse osmosis filtered water) water solve this issue as it does not have any carbonate? tia
Do you know what the problem is? Mine just started doing this after having it since 2019
All machines can have issues, so why not get it fixed? Recommendation or not, coffee machines can fail, and that's what repair centres are for
Well I said this cause this is the third one to fail on me in a year

How can I prevent this from happening to mine? I just got mine for Xmas
Don’t leave it on for long periods of time
I've always wanted to like Breville, especially the dual boiler but just cant spend that much money for something that isn't reliable or repairable.
Yeah I’m learning that they are great for lower cost machines but they just aren’t commercial
Are you sure it's not just the steam wand setting itself to manual mode?
Nope I double checked everything even did a factory reset
@@JoeyVaracalli Have you done a descale?
@@TheWoundedWarrior yes
FYI, also happened to me. Breville fixed after a long 2 month process of getting them to agree this is a common issue
Yeah it’s annoying and I found out easily fixable with a descaling
We have the same issue after 8 months of daily use 😢
Yeah sad situation
@@JoeyVaracalli it still has warranty and I will try to return it. I will buy three separate devices instead.
Thanks, you saved me a lot.
No problem 😉
We had the same exact issue! I feel like they don’t make them the way they used to. So disappointed 😔
Yes so sad 😭
Open it up and replace the seals and wand. Easy to fix.
You have a video or link for me I’d love to attempt that fix

Same I’d like to know!
Get the profitec go!
Yeah a profitec of any sorts in my opinion is better then a breville

Yeah I mean I reviewed it and it was good then failed miserably I did here it was easily fixable with a descaling but idk I sent it back

They have warranty
Noted👍
If this was just the first one with an issue it would be a differ t story but three strikes and your out as they say
Same happens to mine a decale fixes it every time
So strange wish I would have tried that
I think you get some scale built up in the valves and they get stuck open slightly

Yeah it’s a bit too complex for ooo r it’s own good
Dont you have warranty?
Yes but that’s my point I shouldn’t have to have this many warranty replacements
@@JoeyVaracalli oh didn’t know you had to replace it before. Was interested in buying this model lmao.
@@StijnNLDutch yeah all good I had the first one way back in December of last year
can't hear a single word you said brother. turn the water off when you're running the camera
