    Well, I for one am grateful to have this washing machine because I did not have any washing machine for over a year. If I wanted to wash my clothes without having to go to a laundry mat I had to wash them by hand, which would make the skin on my hands raw and painful. What has worked for me with this machine: put the liquid soap in first, then the clothing; pre-spot and rub any stains out as much a possible before adding them to the load, once there is enough water according to the sensor, open it and push whatever has not gotten wet down (I think that may affect the sensor and it will add more water to the load, the deep clean cycle takes too much time for my liking); be aware of when the rinse cycle begins and add the fabric softener then - or - much easier, after the entire cycle ends run the rinse cycle again with the fabric softener.
    I don't know how it works for others, but I read that adding vinegar to your wash really helps get them clean and strong odors out. That it does. But I think it caused my previous washing machine to slowly fall apart by disconnecting things that were glued in because hot vinegar is a really good way to remove sticky substances. It was a great machine and got things really clean, not old, but it got a great deal of use with hot water. I'll never use vinegar again in any washing machine, hot or cold water. Anyway, thanks for the video, I've never taken the time to watch my laundry being washed. It did help. Thank you.

    Thinking this will be my next washer and the dryer set that comes with it in next few years. We have a Maytag washer and dryer and set, but the washer sometimes has problems spinning out the clothes plus the dryer has problems drying properly when drying clothes most of the time, but it’s probably getting close to buy a new set sooner than later

  • @puppet003
    @puppet003 7 років тому +1

    I own this washer too...I gave away my Maytag cause it bounced around too much...but I wish I kept it.
    For those of you who hv this 100 series Kenmore, hopefully it's hooked up next to a sink, or water faucet do you can attach a foot hose which are sold at any hardware store, after you start any cycle, wait till you hear the water stop filling, then either push pause, or just lift the lid and fill your top loader to the desired amount of water you want..don't over fill it..at least till the notch below the top flat part it where I always full mine.
    I know it's time consuming, but hey, I remember my mom washing clothes in my grandmother's old machine in the early 70's and it's better than a washboard. Life is short, I bought mine with proceeds from a Superbowl win in 2015...Aloha

    We have the 2019 model of this washer, I have never missed my Samsung front load so much. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. We lost our home to a house fire back in 15. We (well we have always done this) live on a tight budget now. When our washer broke we had no choice but to buy this one.

    To increase water level in the Kenmore 100 series, just turn the switch from normal to " DEEP WASH". I just found that out after months of searching and dismantling my unit

    Thanks for the video. I and my husband always liked Kenmore brand and got this washer without thinking nor research.
    I really regret it now, because no matter how big the load is, the deepest the water level gets is like 12 inches. Saving the water is ok, but if the clothes needs good rinsing, they need more water, I believe.

    Something else I learned about this machine, I think it may help in the long run, to run the machine empty with bleach (like you are supposed to to clean it every now and then. Maybe because it doesn't use much water and because I use fabric softener in the rinse cycle when I wash, the plumbing doesn't seem to not drain as quickly as it used to. I don't know but I do it as a precautionary measure every now and then. If have done that by running the machine empty using just bleach, and I have removed the drain hose from the wall drain pipe (not from the washing machine) and poured boiling water with bleach in it. This took care of the leaking (I had in the laundry room which was caused when the water didn't drain through the house drain pipe as quickly as it was leaving the washing machine) immediately. Maybe I was using too much soap and or fabric softener. I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it was something I was doing wrong since I am not mechanically inclined. And I'm sure I was just using too much vinegar, like I did when I would use it also to clean the outside of the refrigerator and now I have little chips and rust spots on the paint. I guess I just wasn't rinsing the vinegar off well enough. I'm learning though.

    So me and my roommates have been having soiled clothes after the wash cycle and drain spin issues. The clothes come out dirtier then when they go in. The machine will not switch to the drain spin cycle at all. However after checking the valves I discovered maintenance men who installed our washer at our apt did not open the valves (hot and cold) completely. I’m waiting on a load now to see if that improves the current soiled wash situation. I’ll keep you all updated.

    You have to hold the button for approximately 3 seconds and then release the button and wait then it should unlock. I learned you have to be patient with it or it won’t work. Also if that fails unplug it for about 2 mins then plug it back in. Give it a moment and if it doesn’t unlock on its own repeat the first step again. Hope this helps.

    • @eskk2169
      @eskk2169  8 років тому

      I believe if you turn the fare right nob where it reads normal casual ect.. Turn it to the left from center on normal turn it counter clockwise just before it is on Heavy Duty. That should do it. The washer also has a sensor that tells it what size as well, it is just like a front load washer but it's a top load, so it doesn't use as much water as a normal washer. Are your clothes coming out not as clean as you would like?

      It's your suspension springs.
      One of 4 either came off or is broken.
      It's an easy fix.
      You tube will show you how.

      CHARLESF55 you should be able to remove the cap on the center of the agitator and there is a nut, then gently pull it up not off just up enough to reach under to get the coins. Hope that helps.

    Terrible Appliance avoid at all cost I'm sure we're all here commenting because we have one and it's trash... unable to wash four pair of pants without leaving one dry and soapy(work pants not yoga pants). Whoever designed this is probably been demoted

    • @eskk2169
      @eskk2169  5 років тому

      isaac tapia people aren’t here to complain. Not all of these washers are bad. You can get a bad one or a good one it happens with all appliances believe it or not. Just because yours doesn’t work doesn’t mean others don’t. I still have mine and it works great. You just have to know the run down on it. I’m sure you just got one that isn’t good but don’t blame them all for one. That’s like saying all Fords or Chevys are garbage, not so. I don’t care for Ford but I do know they make some great vehicles.

      It barely agitates and sometimes if I don’t get my clothes out right at finish I like to run them through the rinse again.I had to run them through the hole cycle.Put some on the soak and it filled up and run back out was no soaking to it.
