Thanks for hanging out through the rain. Great footage. So sorry for the loss to these families.
DFD is the best..I was born and raised in Detroit but I couldn't handle that cold and snow nowadays.
They had four hand lines on two floors in an interior attack until the order was given to pull out.
Good job Josh, thanks for posting !👍
Thank you. More videos on the way
I feel great pain for those residents who lost all they had as well as the place they called home. But in all honesty, from the buildings decay which is evident by the condition of the apartment window casings, that the building was already unsafe and would have shortly become uninhabitable.
With no visual sign of any interior fire attack and only one aerial truck can be seen in operation, it would seem that the DFD determined that the building was too dilapidated or too far gone fire-wise, to risk firefighters lives in mounting a serious fire attack and decided to assume a defensive position of contain the fire and let it do its thing to completion.
Thank you for the well-filmed video.
I can't believe this is only a 2nd alarm fire and it's kicking their butt. Maybe they needed to upgrade it.
I agree with the earlier comment about the DFD being one of the hardest working FD's in the nation. But they now have better and newer apparatus to do their job.Since 2015 they have replaced almost all their front line engines, and in 2017 the DFD started taking delivery of 5 New Heavy Rescues as well as 2 New Ladder Towers, and many New ambulances and command and support vehicles. So the Fleet has improved greatly from where it was several yrs ago. It's now up to the new City administration to continue these upgrades and not let the DFD lapse into a terrible state again! They also put in service several new aerial ladders in the last few yrs.Didn't want to forget to mention that!
This is the first time I have heard of the Democrats actually doing something GOOD for Detroit! These departments really deserve the good equipment and they also need a better raise!
Nice to see new trucks working.
Good Video Bro
Noice!
cool.
Nice video
Thank You John!!
Why is it that the ladder trucks pour water down from the top, when we are always thought to aim at the base of the fire ?
Just hitting hot spots...
I actually found a pic of this dwelling on Google Maps before the blaze. It was actually a nice looking building. Any word on how the fire started? God bless all of those who lost their homes and big respect to the DFD. They are the hardest working fire department in the world hands down.
Police made an one scene arrest. Arson suspicion
The Detroit Fire Department motto should be { The most with the least}. Hopefully some day soon they can have new equipment like most of the rest of the cities in America. May God bless and protect them all.
@@danielheartsill4269 ladder 18 that was in this video was just put in service that day!
New York is the best
Nice clip I see MN TL 1 was there flowing water as well MN ( Mother Nature Rain) 😁
they should start a fire fighter school in detroit
They do
Dan The Body Man they should have a comment school where you are...
Great video man! After the DFD pulled out all the interior attack lines, where did all the exterior master stream handlines go? The only master streams I saw were from the ladder trucks and towers. With all that new fire apparatus the DFD has purchased in the last few years you would think they would be able to operate more than towers and ladder trucks for master streams. Not my idea of how to run a railroad. Maybe they should learn how to deploy more handlines through training so they can utilize those new trucks to their fullest capacity.
Still no man power.
That is a total loss to the building, now it will have to be demolished.
Building Had No Sprinkler system "
How long did it take to put the fire out?
3 hours or more...
@@jashfire thanks
Another flat tar roof that you can't extinguish. Might as well wait for it to burn away so you can get at the fire.
did anyone get injured
No
At least they got some new trucks to dump water on another pile of shit burning in Detroit.
