So glad you showcased an entry-level system by one of the tribesmen. I have a beginner's rig and am usually too embarrassed to tell fellow "audiophiles" but feel welcome here. Thank you!
This is absolutely awesome. Proud of my good friend Lukas. The crown on his achievements is this video! Keep up the good work Lukas! Your doing a great audio job! You can be proud to be member of this audio tribe !!
Now this deserves a comment. How fantastic to visit a members home and shake hands. I live in the UK and would love to have you over one day, have some good food/drink and listen to music together. I feel like Hi-Fi can be a lonely hobby with most of the world thinking we are batshit crazy but it doesn’t have to be. One of my favourite videos on the channel thus far. Awesome.
I could definitely hear an improvement in the sound when you widened the distance between the speakers and toed them in. I also keep a bag of small quart crystals on top of my breaker box which helped to elevate the sound of my system. Now I'm going to move my grounding mat which I use when sitting in front of my computer, down to my listen room and try grounding myself while listening. Should be interesting. Thanks for bringing an interesting and entertaining perspective to Hi End audio.
My music system is Dali ,NAD, Sony and Garrard. The movie is Denon ( now laff ) Tangent front, Dali centre, Mordaunt short rear and Jaycar sub. The other room has a Diy class D with Marantz 6G Altronics pre amp and DIY modified Bluetooth link ( was a hands free phone kit until I got my tools out )
And this, is the philosophy that brings me here. While I have what is a substantial amount of money for me in my system, it's not anywhere near top tier. My approach to putting together a system was to start with the best speakers I could afford that provided me with the tonality I prefer. from there I am working my way back to source. I have sound I've always dreamed of, but I know that my room and set up could definitely get me next level before any more money is spent. It's probably not the way most would or should approach building a system, but for me I have zero regrets. My wife came home from going to the movies with my daughter and walked in and said. "Have you been sitting here listening to music this whole time?" With a smile I said "YEP"
@@OCDHIFiGuy Haha I typed the "G" word and F'N UA-cam deleted my comment. I said it was better that I spend my money on HIFI. I'm now rethinking where my money should be spent. Thats Sarcasm for the Minders.
Synergy is actually a huge factor that people dont consider, and that's the difficult part of audio since there are so many variables. We got dac, pre, amp, source, you name it. In addition EQ and room acoustics plays a major role. The fact is most of us go to these audio shows and I mean 80%+ of those rooms are garbage, even with a million dollar system. You cant go in and say the room is why it sounds like crap, because the fact is there are the same exact rooms with different set ups and at cheaper prices and they sound amazing. You must factor everything if you want that happy place in audio.
Adding modern EQ in a modest system can be beneficial, but I would hesitate doing the same at a higher end level. And stay away from those old distortion sliders.
@@ryanschipp8513 I definitely agree, but to one up that the source itself is crucial. Biggest upgrades to my stereo systems, which I have two, has been the addition of bit perfect streamers. I used the same streamer on both and I did not spend 1000's either, nor did I buy you typical audio company streamer. I have one of those and that was also did improve the overall performance, but even the Pi based streamers with a quality HAT work phenomenal l when designed properly. Also they only cost about 300 or less. But to get to the point, I think anyone into hifi is using quality content as that is basically part of the hobby. You would hope that's not a miss or an unchecked box
Interesting grounding tweak. I only listened via iPhone speakers so it was hard to assess differences. Nice work on the slight change in speaker placement, Mikey! How large is Lukas’ listening space? It seemed pretty nice-14 ft X 20 ft?
This is the type of content I really like. One thing about the system that I seem to notice is that it is not sibilant in anyway and almost laid-back which I like a lot. You changing the speaker placement definitely made a difference as they were way too close together and not towed in at all. Well, done, Mikey.!
Human energy channels open when the static goes away! Respect to you and congrats to your host Lukas for putting together a kick ass system. I happen to love the hypex amplifiers especially when they are designed with a input buffer and a nice tube preamplifier for that midrange sweetness. 💯 Awesome!

I was really digging that song, Slow Ready from Goose. I started looking up the band because they have a very 80s and 90s synth pop vibe to them and then I realize that they started in 2014 two towns away from my town in Connecticut.😮
From what I've heard in my 25 years 5000 to 10000 All In is a solid start. The point of diminishing returns settles in quickly. There is a point where you are wasting money and it's simply a different flavor of sound versus a better sound.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't. He's clearly made his choice, however. That means his choice is made on UA-cam content alone. 90% of viewers here are the same. It's a judgment based on the guy and the channel only. On the flipside, look at how many people think these uber expensive systems sound great, and they've never heard them.. lol. They just blindly cheer for shit that LOOKS like it would sound good.
Cool video. Before I got targeted and life went to shit, I had a similar sized room and setup. I found treating my front glass cathedral window made a huge difference.
