As a former SDA, I am very convinced that fear plays a major role in keeping members loyal to the organization. The overwhelming evidence within the writings of Ellen White is plain for anyone to see that she was/is a fake prophet, also her various contradictions with the Bible and her own writings. For example, her admission that Tithing and Sabbath were not re-enacted in the New Testament (COUNSELS on Stewardship, p.66), her admission that Galatians 3:24 is saying that the School Master represents the moral law and the ceremonial law. I don’t think that the Church leadership would want to discuss these two contradictions by her for fear of the confusion that it might cause. Way to go Mike!!!
This is the quote from Counsels on Stewardship, p. 66. The very same language is used concerning the Sabbath as in the law of the tithe: "The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Man has no right nor power to substitute the first day for the seventh. He may pretend to do this; "nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure." The customs and teachings of men will not lessen the claims of the divine law. God has sanctified the seventh day. That specified portion of time, set apart by God Himself for religious worship, continues as sacred today as when first hallowed by our Creator. In like manner a tithe of our income is "holy unto the Lord." The New Testament does not reenact the law of the tithe, as it does not that of the Sabbath; for the validity of both is assumed, and their deep spiritual import explained.... 1:23:54 That is such a profound question. Leaving Adventism and joining another denomination causes such a divide, which as your rightly point out, is because of how Adventists view Christian churches. I've seen this acted out in my own family.

I'll keep posting this. Adventism and the fear of the gov coming to kill sabbath keepers had my 70 year old mother army crawling to answer the front door. As far as i can tell, she is living in fear.
My mother said to me that she thinks she’ll literally be hauled off in chains due the her fear of the government. There’s no spiritual or literal rest in Adventism
Regarding the analogy of why would you leave SDA because of false teachings vs not leaving the USA if your party is not in office - it's apples & oranges in my opinion. That's why it doesn't make sense. We are commanded to worship God in spirit and truth. It's about WORSHIP and guarding our hearts from false teachings. I don't worship any President or leader, or political party (although, sadly some do). I am to be in the world, but no part of it as it is admonished in scripture. However, God commands His people to get out of Babylon, to separate ourselves from false teachings, doctrine, ideologies, etc. When it comes to Scripture and worship - light and darkness do not mix. These are commands from God.
As for me I have made up my mind about Ellen White, her teachings and how the church promotes the same, through my personal research, that is, they are faulty, unbiblical, and plagiarised from her first vision to her last book Prophets and Kings. I am still in the church, and no amount of my correction and exposing errors during lesson study has had any impact on any member, including the pastor. They teach and love false doctrines and hate those who expose the falsehood. But this did not shake me in any way. Let God judge and reward the wheat and the tares according to their works. However, Adventists will never change like the Jews who rejected Jesus and Jesus has spewed them out and their Temple destroyed. The same fate awaiting the self-righteous, proud Adventists😮😢

The Mosaic covenant...G+d gave the 10 commandments to the Israelites after they left Egypt so that the nation would first and foremost know that He and He alone is G+d, He took them out of Egypt with a mighty hand, He destroyed every Egyptian gods which many of them more than likely also venerated...G+d wrote do not worship idols, creatures of the air, the sea, the earth, stones, or the stars and heavenly bodies, for He is G+d who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them...He gave them his Sabbath that He blessed at creation for them to enter into His rest..He gave them the commandments on how to treat each other cause they were lawless as we read that they made a golden calf and were sexually sinning with each other like pagans because Moses did not return to camp on their timeline. The covenant of G+d in Christ, our Messiah...the life of Jesus, the shedding of his blood, his resurrection, ascension, He is King and Priest after the order of Melchizedek...He is our rest, our peace with G+d, our propitiation..the Sabbath does not save and is not the mark of the remnant....we live under grace by faith... Adventism is rooted in another view of the gospel skewed by Adventist literature, books and beliefs on salvation...
Read the 4th commandment from Exodus 20 and it points you directly back creation. Furthermore, the mosaic covenant was not to bring salvation to the Hebrews, but it was a guarantee of God's blessing on the nation. Individuals were saved by believing in the one and only true God and the coming messiah as was Abraham. The cross removes the laws condemnation but not the moral law itself. The civil and ceremonial laws were removed completely which is why we dont stone people for breaking the Sabbath.
The NT Sabbath is resting in Jesus, therefore all Christians keep Sabbath in their hearts. The literal sabbath keeping brings God's blessing for obedience.
I really enjoyed your comment here! I would like to ask though: how do we defined what is civil and ceremonial within the law in contrast to what is moral? Where do we find a biblical explanation of that distinction? Secondly, the law is described as fulfilled in Christ and not removed. Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements of the law, can we then claim that the moral aspects of the law is not fulfilled?
@@VeronicaS-b5c The moral law was written with God's own finger. The civil and ceremonial laws were given to Moses to write. Also, the 10 Commandments were placed in the Ark of the Covenant. The laws of Moses were placed outside. That is the distiction. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life and fulfilled all aspects of the law. We are saved by His obedience and not our own. The laws of Moses were temporary to lead Israel to the day when Christ would be the ultimate and final sacrifice. The moral law still stands as a standard for Holy living.
I understand. But have to ask again: where in the Bible does it say that the law on stone written with Gods finger is moral? And why is it considered moral because it was placed in the Ark? Okay, so if Jesus fulfilled the law, and we live in his obedience and not our own and the moral law is still a guidance to Holy living: Do we need to keep the 10 commandments to be saved?
