- In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. I can't believe this has not had millions of views. It was wonderful. It was geared to young adults but this is great advise for anyone of any age. I'm always fighting all my interest trying to figure out what is the "right one." I love the equivalency of cutting off a limb and walking around as a cripple by ignoring parts of your gifts.
I am trying to decipher a calling as well. I have multiple passions - art, environmental advocacy, community growth, travel, human services, and teaching. I think I have a lot of talent, but I also struggle intensely with mental health and PTSD. Every time I feel like I am getting close to achieving in one of these fields, I get caught in another depressive episode. I think I may need to focus on healing for a chapter of my life and begin whole-heartedly pursuing the life I want. It would be wonderful to combine all of my talents in a way that somehow helps other people that are depressed/suicidal/lost in life.

conclusion: be a park ranger, adopt many animals and have a bakery or cafe with a youtube channel that discusses philosophy as well as teaches baking and art and create films about nature and lifestyle

I'm trying to combine my interests in film production, interior design, athletics, travel and some kind of meaningful work all into one but I'm clueless. I think I'm just going to pursue them all and simply see what unfolds and what opportunities arise :) Thanks!
I guess some of the potential correlations are : travel brings different kind of inspirations to interior design & film production, athletics as a sport can be brought to the next level in different physical landscapes or environment when you travel to different parts of the Earth under different climate or terrain, just for a start. @@virgojwy2024 Hi! It's going quite well :) I completed a course in tourism and realised that I'd rather be a tourist and travel lots, than actually work in the sector. I also realised that my main interest in film production is actually set design/set decorating, so I'm now finishing up an interior design course and I'm planning to start my own company in ID soon, that I can take on the road (my teacher was very excited about this and 100% believes it will work). I also intend to learn much more in the areas of arts, crafts and carpentry and look forward to picking up knowledge on local design while traveling. Hopefully I can get some experience that way and some day find a way into set design. I am not worried in the slightest, because in the meantime I've been working jobs that I thoroughly enjoy as well, at a health insurance company where I'm now focused on communications. I'm picking up some wonderful transferable skills that will come in handy for my own future website and company. This TED talk has been on my mind a lot over the last couple of years and it's literally changed my life.

Exact problem I have right now, what I am going to do with my life and what can make me happy and fulfilled, and what I kind of work suits me etc. Exactly explains what my situation, I also thought about reaching out to a wise person or coach or mentor to find out my gifts and what type of work to proceed with, seems like your solution of designing my own work would work for me, Thanks
