Great review of this blend. Growing up my mother also gave me cinnamon sugar on buttered toast as a snack. I had it all the time, loved it then, still do. Have that and a cup of English tea with a bit of milk added👌. My mouth is watering already 😋. Separated by a pond and united by cinnamon sugar on buttered toast... and a pipe 😂✌️
Hey buddy. Smoking my first full VA blend while watching this, Capstan Gold. Picked it up today while I was in Birmingham for work. There is a pipe shop there called The Briary that is about to celebrate 50 years. So far really digging this full VA! Next up is probably Capstan Blue! Also picked up an Aldo Velani pipe, never heard of it, but she smokes well. As always, great review, great video.
I hated orlik golden slice UNTIL I folded and stuffed it a certain way in a certain pipe. Now I absolutely love it....weird how little things make a big difference. Good luck on the hunt my friend 🔎🦄🍀
Love my Zippo pipe lighters! This tobacco sounds delicious! I'll have to see if my local tobacconist has some hidden away. Don't know why, but the 320 just smokes, handles, clenches and looks great!
Paul, the 320 has been a game changer for me. I can definitely see me investing in another one down the road. Heck yeah, check the local shops, it’s the only way to score some right now for sure :)
Another great video and review. I use my 320 for Virginia and caper blends also and I do believe that the massive bowl absorbs most the heat and keeps the smoke mostly cool that comes from the Virginia tobacco that burns hotter than most.
James I think you are right, this bowl shape is really helping me with several blends like this! I’m really pleased with the 320 and will likely buy more in the future! :)
Glad you like the 8320!!! It is awesome to see you get to enjoy some wins that you really love again. Great review wish I had some to smoke right now. Unfortunately I only have Tillberry and Woodbridge left. I can only smoke those on special occasions like a YABO that’s coming up
Thanks for watching this review, Doug! Yeah the chase is real and there are many more losses than wins. You’ve been such a great support to me, I’m happy to send you a sample of anything I own, just email me. :)
Wonderful review, Kevin - smells like Panera Orange Scones and takes like Buttered Cinnamon Toast (relieved to hear that it doesn't taste like cheese dip 😉) - what else could you ask for (except that it wasn't as rare as a dodo)? You really do a review right. Your analogies and comparisons and, especially, the similarities that you find with qualities in other tobaccos are phenomenal and immensely helpful. The observation that you made about the 320 shape eliminating the irritation you've experienced with some blends is interesting and, perhaps, not surprising. The 320KS shape does seem to smoke most tobaccos well. It may be that the wide, deep, thick-walled bowl keeps the air-smoke ratio in the zone. (You'll have to get a couple more to be able to run side by side comparisons!) lol That one dog was definitely not amused by something. Best for a continued fine weekend. Be well, stay safe, and keep it awesome - peace The scenery at the wedding venue really was beautiful!
Thank you so much Skipton, I wish it wasn’t so rare! But then again, it’s rarity really makes me appreciate each bowl. Yes the 320 shape has been a game changer for me so far and I can definitely see myself owning more in the future! :)
Great video and I hope you get some more Peacehaven sometime. Watch out for the ytpc drop alerts. My favorite Esoterica so far is Pembroke 😋 Those 320s have a lot of briar to absorb steam and wide bowls to keep the smoke cool, maybe part of the reason you, me and many in ytpc love em 😊😄😉
Thank you Lester, I’m sure I’ll run across more someday, patience in the search is key. I’m sure you’re right about that wide 320 bowl helping with the steam and heat, it’s such a great bowl shape! :)
Afternoon Kevin. I enjoyed the video and review. Glad you're liking the 320 shape. I'll probably never get the Esoterica blends. I'm one of those non-chaser types 😆 which I'm fine with. Great job on the burgers 🤤
great review ,then the burgers made me hungry . i have a serious question , i am new to pipe smoking and do not know much about the pressed tobaccos , can you put it in a grinder and fluff it back up before smoking ?
It’s usually do-able to “rub out” flake tobaccos by hand (see my method for rubbing out thin flakes in my Capstan Gold review), but then some flakes I may break into chunks by hand and load that way. Other dense flakes I may fold and stuff but the smoking mechanics can be challenging. If you give me a specific blend example I may can be of more help
Hi Kevin! Maybe it's me, but the tobacco looked kinda dry when you showed the cake. I'm sure it's moist, but looked like a cake of yellow grass. Is it on the dry(er) side? I was lucky enough to score a 2oz tin of Margate I have yet to open! Oh Esoterica...why must you be so elusive!!!
Which one?! There seemed to be a yapper and then a big mad one at one point 😂. I don’t own a dog so they aren’t mine… something had them wound up tho. Maybe they are mad at the rarity of Esoterica blends 😄👍
@@hobbitonpiper I’m totally into the idea of finding rare or discounted tobaccos. It never occurred to me that trying to obtain hard to find tobaccos could be stressful. Feels like a fun treasure hunt. One of the main reasons I’m going to the Chicago pipe show in a couple weeks. I have a list of tobaccos I’m looking for. I’ll keep an eye out for this one, and try and get ya some!

That is so awesome, I knew I wasn’t the only one! Yes sir, we are cinnamon toast piping brothers :) Love it
Beautiful view and great tobacco review. Have a great week.
Thank you Monte! So glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you back tomorrow for another “Smoke With Me” :)

You’re smoking some great blends!
@@hobbitonpiper I LEARNED IT BY WATCHING YOU! lol
Sounds like a great blend! Thanks for the review. I’ll definitely try and get my hands on some too.

It’s so interesting how simple little changes can change EVERYTHING about the experience!
Kevin great review. Always great to see your brother God bless
Thank you Kirk, always great to see you here as well! :)
Thanks for your thoughts my friend it’s been a long time since I had this one I’ll definitely have to revisit it soon
You’re the first I’ve heard that even has some. :) sure wish we could find more!!

I’ve got a little Tilbury but haven’t had Woodbridge!
Love the thought of cinnamon toast. Nice review, very relaxing. Enjoy! Oh I'll be there for a burger.
Frank I’d love to make you a burger and smoke a pipe after! :)
I’ve never been able to get my hands on any esoterica. But I am a relatively new piper. This stuff sounds very interesting 🤔 and wonderful!
It’s becoming even more scarce it seems. I’ve heard supply chain issues this year have delayed them even more.
Good stuff, Kevin. I am one of those who doesn’t chase the unicorn blends so I have not had this. Enjoy!
Thanks for watching this review, Doug! Yeah the chase is real and there are many more losses than wins. You’ve been such a great support to me, I’m happy to send you a sample of anything I own, just email me. :)
@@hobbitonpiper I always appreciate the offer Kevin! I’m good for now! Let me know if there is something you haven’t had and I can do the same!
Very nice, my friend.
I definitely will ant to try all the tobaccos that I can as well! 😀
Thanks brother, yeah trying different tobacco blends is so fun and interesting to me too! :)
very nice review as usual. Enjoy the Esoterica, hope you can pick up some more soon-ish
I’m sure I’ll run across more down the road, but if not I certainly have many other amazing blends to enjoy! Thanks so much for watching, Peter! :)
Well done Kevin. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you! Have a great weekend also! :)
Hiyas Kevin, Peacehaven sounds heavenly. If I ever come across it, either in this universe or another one, I'll definitely go for it.
Cheers,

Yeah Gary if you like straight virginias at all I think you’d enjoy this experience :)
Nice seeing this review. Very very Hard to find any esoterica Around here in Brazil.
Very very hard to find any Esoterica here as well! And I haven’t seen this one anywhere in two years…
I don't know if we'll find ANYMORE Esoterica anywhere.☹️
Me either. Been a long time

@@hobbitonpiper very nice of you to offer. I'll keep that in mind. 👍
Zippo lighters might stay lit easy in the wind but then it tastes like dumping lighter fluid gases all over your tobacco. Never mind the leaking lol.
Haha that may be true, Gabriel, I haven’t noticed it being that bad. I do prefer the butane no doubt!

Man, I can only dream…I’m afraid my small amount will be long gone before I will ever have a chance to find out :)

See my video called “WEEKEND SHORT | Favorite Pipe Lighter” and it’s description. I also use a Zippo with the pipe insert when it’s windy, Cosmo :)
