This video helps explain Rocket bunny V1 wheel fitment.
Fronts are an additional 40mm wider.
Rears are an additional 65mm wider.

(if you go too big you are gonna have a bad time)
(they typically round up to keep things easier)
1inch = about 25.4 mm
1/2 inch = 12.7mm
Hub centric & Wheel centric adapters means fits flush with the hub and wheel.
OEM wheel bolt pattern 5x100
5x114.3 has a better low offset wheel selection.
Hub is 56.1mm
Every inch you lower your car the wheels are tucked in by 8mm (0.314961 inch)
Camber adjustment in the rears is via lower control arms. Any degree higher then 3 degrees will throw the rest of your suspension off. So, trailer arms and toe arms are highly suggested after 3 degrees.
Camber adjustment in the fronts is via upper controls arms ($$$$), top hats ($$), and camber bolts ($)
A bad TOE alignment will eat up your tires more then a big camber. In short, get your suspension figured out!

1st. Choose your wheel fitment you want.
I personally like the meaty wheel fitment sitting semi flush. & following the arch perfectly.
However, the best and most practical fitment is tucked in a bit so you do not have to worry about hitting your fenders.
2nd. Understand Offset.
Offset in short.
The higher the offset is the more it sticks closer to the car.
The lower the offset is the more it sticks away from the car.
3rd. Pick your wheels. Running a small adapters to 5x114.3 is an affordable way to get to rocket bunny wheel fitment. Also, look into 2nd hand wheels.
4th. Pick the correct tires. Use the tire wall calculator listed above. It is really important.
Note: If you are going for the tucked in fitment, you can fit a much bigger tires like 295 (rears) if you really want to.
Things to look out for!
Front wheel fitment! You have to deal with the turning radius. So, if you pick an offset that is too low it will hit the fenders. If you pick too large of tires it will hit. If you pick with the wrong offset you could fit the inside of the car @ full lock! Be mindful.
My wheel and tires fitment
1/2inch drop from stock from stock height
Fronts 18x9.5 +10 mm off set with a 15mm hub centric and wheel centric adapter.
So it's really 18x9.5 -5mm off set
Tires: Nittos NT05 255/40 R18
Camber -3 degrees
Toe -0.3
Caster max
1/2inch drop from stock height
Rears 18x11 +8mm off set with a 25mm hub centric and wheel centric adapters
So it is really 18x11 -17mm
Tires Nittors NT05 265/40 R18
Camber 3.2
Toe.-.4
caster max
My total cost wheels + tires + adapters.
1100 wheels
540 tires
adapters 150
Total = 1790 + install
Note about my current set up no back spacing they are in 5x114.3 bolt pattern. They will not make them in 5x100.
Cost effective wheels
forgestar f14 super deep concave
1700 + 160 shipped.
Custom to size and spec.
tires (400-900)
no adapters
or
a used set of 5x114.3 wheels and a small adapter.

56-40 is 16 not 14 lol. Other than that, great vid! Very informational.
I r needs to go back to schools
+Frank Hong teh fitment is simple... question is how you did the wheel arches inside with the mud guards and fenders?
+IrenicusFTW Can you cut a piece of paper without cutting the edges, so you can walk through it ? That is the basic idea. cut the OEM fender liners like such and then you can install in your car & push it far into the wheel well. & from there that’s where the magic happens. You can either 1. Glue the FFFF out of it to match the contours of your wheel well. 2. Finish spare liner materials and JDM AF zip tie them. 3. Double side tape or straight attach it to the wheel wells. Velcro works too. 4. Fiber glass and resin your liners together. 5 do something and make it work. I know of 1 person who actually got thin pieces of sheet metal bend and flex it to the contour of the wheel well and weld it together and called it a day. It’s up to you.
Thanks for not being greedy with your knowledge!
MINESSSSSSSSSs NO ledge.
I like the explanation, Frank! A lot of people can benefit from this.
I don't mean to be that guy, but @3:36 56 - 40=16mm unless I missed something with the 1" drop.
+Jerry Batista :) yeah it was a joke. added in. I will add a note in to avoid confusion.
this was interesting, I was unaware of all o this however im a noob when it comes to car parts. i think its funny you have 18s when you when to the trouble of cutting up your car. i also have a white brz and i have 19s however they are 245s to your 265s
side note you must have gone through alot o ink printing all those pics
keep it up. i am intrigued to see the finished result, especially with that huge RB wing, i am a big fan o that
+Henry Greive play with the tire wall calculator in the description. Yours must be 245/35 that 35 makes a huge difference on the side wall :) If I did 295/35 it is still smaller then 265/40 which what I have on my rears. Soooon man. engine rebuild is done. but I need to go pick up that engine and give it to Pure to install it. I CAN TASSSSTE the HP!!$!~@4y( )(
So for the frs for any wheel on a stock body that doesn't have a lip or much backspacing the perfect offset with some functional camber is +38 now if your adding 40mm overfenders to that aspect then you subtract 40mm from your offset, pretty basic math gives you an offset of -2, this does not account for backspacing, most wheels wide enough for a rocket bunny have about 5mm of backspacing meaning you'd need about a +3 offset. Now for the rear, applying the same math, I believe the overfenders are 65mm? So what's 38-65? -27, but ah backspacing 5mm puts you at -22, but there are a few strange factors in the rear. The of sits up higher on the fender pushing it back a few mm so the rear is a bit harder to get right.
What wheels were on the picture for this video ?
cmvd0812 the rims are cosmis xt-206r
With the Rocket Bunny v1!
Front: Rim Specs
18x9.5 +30
25mm Spacer
2inch Drop
=18x9.5 +11mm
Rear:Rim Specs
18x10.5 +22
30mm Spacer
2inch Drop
=18x10.5 -6mm
Correct me if I’m wrong?
The front would be 18x9.5 +5mm and rear would be 18x10.5 -8mm.
Is it possible to get away without cutting if I’m running a smaller tire size with these rear fenders?
Thanks!
2016 Subaru BRZ Hyper Blue Edition with Rocket Bunny V2 kit with Falken RT660 and Work Emotion T7R on BC Racing Coilovers for drifting what’s the fitment?
Frank I have a question. I’m going to buy a set of Meister M1 18x9.5 Front / 18x11 Back. I have Rocket Bunny V1, what is the offset I need for front and back for a perfect fitment without spacers?
@@captainkilos I am also wondering the same thing, as I’m in the market for wheels and tires for my V1 kit
my wheel specs are 18x9.5 -1 and 18x11 -3, so I should be goooood thx for the vid
you running any spacers with that
I’m going air ride and RB V1 kit. What width 18’s and what offset and tire size would give me a great fitment, without having to use spacers?
Is it possible to just roll and pull the rear fenders to make this kit fit with smaller wheels and spacers?
Hey man thanks for the video... I don't have a lot of knowledge about wheels and I'm in need of help
I'm about to order a set of wheels online , the work emotion ultimate CR.. 18 inch 8.5 +30 in the front and 18inch 9.5 +30 rear , 5H/114.3... Should I worry about anything like the wheels hitting the fender? I don't wanna do any modifications, except for installing the wheels. Thanks man
i just want to know why you write your 8's upside down
+Steve So my organs are switched. My heart is on he right side and everything else is flipped.
Obviously because he is Asian and English not first language. lol
I make mine the same way, english is my only language.
hey brother sorry to bother you if I go rocket bunny with these wheels I have all four 18x9.5 would it fit the rocket bunny I also have 15mm by isc suspension
Great video. Amazed u know all that but cannot subtract 56-40=16 lol...
what do you recommend for a 18x9 +25 square set up on a stock body BRZ. Should i run some negative camber so i can avoid poke or should I just go with an entirely different spec because +25 is aggressive. Just curious.
what is the weight for per wheel?
5x100 18x9.0 offset +33
What brand are your wheels for them to be 1k?
Frank need your help! lol watched your video about 3 to 4 times and still iffy about my results. So since I don't wanna run staggered I'm thinking about running 18X9 + 18mm wheels from factory. Doing your flush fitment math with the RB fenders I got in theory, would have to run in front 18X9 +20mm and rear 18X9 -27mm. So front I would practically be flushed and in rear would need a 35mm wheel spacer. Am I correct? lol Let me know if i got it or am still lost in the world of the rockets and the bunnies lol.
+j rodaa close...but@ 4:17 I show what 18x10 is then 18x11. So 18x9 comes to a negative -27 off set. If you think it backwards.
18x10 the perfect flush fitment is set at -14mm. But, you have a 18x9 wheels so "ADD" 13mm. So, if your wheels are 18x9 +18mm off and you need to get to -27 offset that is 45mm it needs to stick out. That's a pretty big spacer IMO. Hope that helps.
Would an 18 x 9.5 +38 with a 50mm spacer work?
how many inches did you lower you car?
So if I'm running 18 x 9.5 +25 - 245/35/18 and 18 x 10.5 +12 - 275/35/18 with a 1inch drop, I would most likely need to trim a bit? As I'm 43mm further out in front, and 69mm in the rear instead of 40/65
Did you ever find the answer to this?
17x8.25+35 wheels, how many “mm” spacers would I have to run to fit the 40mm front fenders ? It’s temporary until the nice wheels come in
Did you ever get a answer?
Help!! Is it possible to fit a 18x10.5 offset +15 wheel in the front of a brz/frs with a 50mm fender flare?
is this with or without spacers??
what's up I want to put 18x9.5 front 18x10 in my 1999 subaru impreza Wagon but I not sure with the offset can yo help me with that
That is not what backspacing is, backspacing is a measurement from the back of the wheel to the mounting surface.
Frank, does 1" drop refer to lower control arms only? or is that like coil-over dropping my car?
Coils lowing the whole car all together.
Hey frank, so does that essentially mean my offset would go higher 8mm each inch I drop?
You get more tuck in so yes. But be aware most people only do about an inch drop anything more gets into a stance look.
Do u need that stock grill? Mine broke :(
If i want to run 18X10.5 with 255/40/18 tires in the rear what offset would I need? Im on stock suspension. Im a moron so this is really hard.
Hey frank, you have he XT-206r right? your rear 18x11 with +15 offset??? I tried to look on cosmis website they only have 18x11 +8 offset
Just spacers to get the offset you want bro.
I just realized I bought the flex fuel kit from you 😐 lol
lolz they the sad face? you gotta good dealz. I kinda really sold it at 400 after all the fees and ship. it's double boxed and wrapped in heavy bumble wrap. hope you enjoy it bro!
+Frank Hong Emojis are different on my phone lol Yeah man. you gave me a good ass deal on it! last piece I needed for boost haha Your videos are awesome btw, keep it up brotha!
+daniel herrera last piece? for sureeeee? it's never the last parts. I have more parts fs. needs a clutch? holds 300 tq. comp stage 3!!! :)
do rb kit widen one side 40 mm or both
Will this still work on V2?
I have 16x8.5 and 16x9.5 there both 0 offset tire size for both are 205/50/16. What would be the spacers i would need. My ride height is dropped like 2". Please help me!!?? My 8.5 are in rear and 9.5 are in front
Rambo Kid uh wouldn't you want your 9.5s in the rear and 8.5 in the front ??
Hey Frank i need, I have 2014 camry wheels are 17x7.5 offset is 45 ok. The rims i want to buy are 18x8 offset is 40. My question is how would they look. 1- closer to the fender lip 2- Skinner than factory. Please help
+Eiud González wait are you for reals or just joking?
+Frank Hong why is that im for real i dont understand the offset
+Eiud González ah that's ok. That will pretty much sit similar to stock fitment. You will gain that extra 1/4 of an inch inwards which you will not see. & it should clear your stock suspension. When you are trying to remove something that requires to know both. Just remember one. Lower off set = wheels stick out more.
But, yours is a tad more complicated as you added another half inch of tires. U could also try and play with this www.frsproject.com and see the difference after you in put the information. That website is design for BRZ FRS. BUT you still input those wheels spec you stated above. One on the left and the other on the right and see that it is similar. Hope that helps.
Great video, lol the 14 was quite funny. Is there a way to get those for Rocket Bunny wide body 350z? The only thing I am currently missing is the wheels, any help would be greatly appreciated and i have a track day coming soon!
This started off well then it all went down hill when pen and paper got involved
Is there a simple answer for if I want 18 inch rims that are as wide as possible but still flush with the body kit?
Did you find the answer to this?
@@captainkilos no, I actually don't even want a brz anymore lol
@@crashwebb4715 lol what made you change your mind?
@@captainkilos I became an old jdm fanboy
@@crashwebb4715 aka unreliable money pits lol. but they will always have a place in my heart. i hope you have a second daily
Should you do the same size for a rocket bunny v2 kit
the rb v2 fits wider nicer because of the arch design.
so what size in back and front for tires and thank you for responding
It's all on you depending on the wheel fitment you pick. BUT, I would recommend 1-2 sizes smaller then mines so you can drive around and not worry about scrapping because it is too wide. etc.
Ok
But where do you buy your rims at
Any info on wheel fitment for an rx7?
Negative. but that is where you bust out a ruler.
+Frank Hong lol , thanks !
did you go to automotive school or something?
Heck no. If I did, I would not love car as much as I do. Last thing my tech friends want to do is work on there personal cars. :P I went to architecture school and doing that type of junk meow. Why what is up?
+Frank Hong oh, Im just curious because you seem so familiar with this stuff.
I have 18x9.5+35 wheels and I'm on springs will I be good if I get 245/35r18 tires?
