Curious how you have your place set up for sleeping? We have 3 adults and 3 kids in a 900 sqft 2 bed 1 bath apartment. We put up a temporary closet to block off what was the dining room and turned it into the kids room. I'm not sure how I'd fit 3 more people in, maybe more bunk beds lol

I love Randolph he is always happy and I can fix anything guy and does it well. One advantage of having to move into the home your dad had Justin is now having lived in both of those houses you see what has to be updated and fixed.
I wish he would stop all the weirdness! It’s freaking his kids out. This is new behavior and very strange. Why don’t they just go back to actually doing some homesteading. All this weird stuff is turning people off. Just get back to the basics, that’s what we are here for. Yeah there was a bit of a fire a few days ago but they acted, sorted it out and the house is still standing. They are and gonna be a rare breed as they get older. My mom, only 8 years older than Justin, grew up in a 600sf rock house with 10 people and no plumbing, just an outhouse. There wasn't a well on the property, they drove to the neighbors to fill up old metal milk jugs that they kept on the porch. That house is still in family, still a 2 bedroom -1 actual bedroom, 1 open space upstairs-, still doesn't have indoor plumbing due to the construction of the house that makes it not financially feasible, and still houses 6 people- my grandma, my uncle, his wife, and three of their kids. Justin, please remember that your last choice in housing is a lot of people's ONLY choice, and even some people's dream to be able to afford ❤
You should try to make your own tomato sauce. We grew all our tomatoes 🍅 and made a year of sauce. Make a tomato patch only. We use a giant pot to cook down the tomatoes and we got the machine to remove the skin off the tomatoes. It’s a day of work but it’s worth. You save a ton of money.
We keep the peels and seeds in ours then strain at the end before putting into freezer containers. Also made 2 qts of freeze dried to add when making pasta noodles or bread

Boys slept in the basement when they were old enough, our girl up stais 3 boys and 1 girl !! thats why we survived. might have been different if we had 3 girls and one boy !! LOL 5 room house 1100 sq feet !!Now just two of us and we are glad we stayed here !! love your homestead always wanted that but never got out of the city !!
Money changes people. He no longer acts like he has a need to survive as before. Poor people have to fight for what they need. He was fighting to make a living and keep his family fed and in clothes. Not being sure you were going to make it. Now he has money and no more fight as before. The poor to rich brain change has happened to them all. That is ok.

Herbs are easy to grow. I almost never buy herbs. Grow plenty and freeze in small portions. Even that little thing saves money and adds flavor and vitamins.

We go to a restaurant supply store these days that is open to the public to get our fresh fruits and vegetables. It cuts way back on our costs. We can't even start planting until April 22nd. They have great frozen produce and great meat sales as well. They do have some organic and some non. In the day of these prices you have to do what you have to do and the grocery store has become hard to do.
I do insurance loss fire damage inspections for living. The residue of the smoke and from the fire extinguisure would not be healthy.Insurance would have put them up somewhere for a week or 2 or 4 or whatever It took for the team to get in and remediate, clean and be certain The air quality is up to par. This is normal.There is no wow to it. I assist people with these things every day...

Maybe this is God's way of saying "let go of stuff and thinking your happiness depends on things being a certain way." Let go and let God, in other words. Don't let these moments rob you of your joy, Rebekah. You can do it! We all want to see you smile! BTW, we switched from reverse osmosis filter when we found out it threw 30 gallons of water down the drain to make the 5 gallons to fill the tank. I know you're on well water, but if the system is throwing that much water back into the waste water, maybe it can be saved for the garden. Or maybe you already do - hey, that would be a good video showing how to reclaim water from a reverse osmosis system.
You do what you can do and just try to keep building on it. We have eggs and a garden buy local raw dairy and meat. We don’t have enough land for too many animals. But, have about 2 acres of woods maybe pigs? It’s a process do what you can it’s better than just accepting defeat.
I understand that a regular fire extinguisher is a god send vs the alternative of losing the house or loved ones. BUT as you have just experienced it creates a colossal chemical mess. What I have next to my stove is a large container of cheap store bought salt and have put out grease fires easily with said salt before they got big. Yes there is a patch of crusty clean up but nothing like a fire extinguisher.
Once you get to your rebuilt home, you won’t know how to act! You’ve been packing and moving this past year or so, making it hard to have a normal life. Here’s hoping the remodel is done soon!

Appreciate your content I've been doing abundance plus for a few yrs but I'm really tired of you food shaming people that don't grow all their food. You used to be relatable but you are no longer for me. Most cannot do what you're doing and the "grow your own food shaming" is too much. And that you went to the grocery store because you had a situation, thankfully there was one there for you. Maybe get with "real people" and remember you ought to inspire and not shame. Be like Joel Salatin, a very humble man that educates not shames.
This wasn’t an emergency shop. They produce enough milk, eggs and meat. Any other boasts about eating what you grow is just that. Boasting. They also preserve nothing. Don’t feel bad. Supplementing your groceries a little and growing some things you like to eat is absolutely terrific and a great help to the budget and your health. Keep going and growing!

Its a family of 7 that eats mostly organic and they have barely anything grown the year before due to remodel and they now displace of where they were. Why are you surprised. And there is nothing wrong with it. When I ate 100% organic for one person, I hit 150 - 200 USD a week.

He wasn't shaming. He said, do what you can. I don't see the food shaming at all. Maybe he feels bad that they aren't doing more from the land right now but that is not a reflection of your circumstances.

Its a family of 7 that eats mostly organic and they have barely anything grown the year before due to remodel and they now displace of where they were. Why are you surprised. And there is nothing wrong with it. When I ate 100% organic for one person, I hit 150 - 200 USD a week.

It's probably getting difficult for THEM to follow their own storyline lol! The story has always been based on real life and their real life right now is up and down and backwards and all around! As a result their content has temporarily shifted. Pretty expected
