I just wanted to say Thank you! I was born and raised in Sweden and we had a "tent" in Norway. I now live in Tennessee but your videos brings back sooooo many memories, you put in so much work and time. I brought my kids back from the US to the tent in Norway bit we ended up staying at the Radisson blue after they heard the wolf's..Thanks again I enjoy your videos more than you will ever know.
I'm looking so forward to seeing the finish of the LA house. It's been like an itch I couldn't scratch for quite a while. Thanks Joe. :)
Hi Joe I am really enjoy watching all of your video u are doing u are doing a great job on making theses video and the farm to keep up with the great work u are doing stay safe look forward to the next video
Thank you Richard.
For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would ever give a thumbs down to any of Joe’s videos... Thumbs up bud, keep up the great work! I really look forward to every video you put out!
It's nice to see how much has been done. Since you "had to leave" because of Covid 19. I'm sure you and Melissa will be very happy to get it completed! I wish you and all your family the best deer camp in years! It brings joy to my heart to watch your family all get together! Keeping your tradition's alive and passing the joy of it all down to the next generation's! I too look forward to The Deer Camp Movie 2020.
Thank you Connie. I am editing that "Deer Camp 2020 the movie" video right now. I will be back up there in 2 days and will start filming the second weekend video.
Lots of sightings here in Ontario, but I think the deer can read the notices posted on the fence posts as to when the season starts....then they high tail it to a safer spot!
I think they just bed down in the deep dark forest and wait for cooler weather.
the best part of the Louisiana makeover was the sun room. THAT was AMAZING
I love the sunroof too.
Thanks for sharing with us Joe and Melissa, we wish you the best for your dealings of the Louisiana house. Be safe up there and good luck deer hunting. 👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'd be selling the Louisiana house, I wouldn't take a chance with it again.
I'm not sure why you'd rebuild it without lifting it up on stilts...
@@turbocat1984 that would have been a huge undertaking I'd say, anyway, he being a builder would know. Anyway, they need to sell and forget it, although would they recoup its worth given people would know it was affected by flood if they do sell. But I'd be looking at that, give shares to her kids, or son, and bank the rest, too much of a risk I say to keep.
I am from Louisiana and was living/working in Baton Rouge in 2016. The water table in some parts of the state is so high that you can strike water with a shovel, maybe 18 inches deep. In those areas, there are mostly camps, but some homes also and they are built on piers. But for most places it's not necessary. The issue in 2016 is we had an un-named tropical storm that came ashore and sat over the area. It dumped around 36 inches of rain in about 30 hours. The weather people called it a 1000 year flood. So it was very out of the normal even for our subtropical climate there. Hope that helps with context. -Rob
@@turbocat1984 Joe, mentioned this is a previous video. $$$
@@la_old_salt2241 Thanks for that information.
Yep I remember when that house flooded. It’s looking great. Thanks for the update.
The Louisiana is looking very nice, I'm looking forward to seeing when the walls are painted and when you do the trim! 😊👍💕💕💕
i love yur channel Joe mmm i got good news today..... im gunna be a grandpa 4? 1st time.... very happy.... blessed be yalls!!!!
Congratulations Brian. That is awesome news. Thank you.
@@NorthernSeclusion thank you Joe & Melissa hugs
Still curious about the bayou river property. I know you guys had some plans for it in the past. Stay warm and get some deer.
Thanks for explaining about the house I was wondering why you were working on a house so far away.
Joe your exactly right about the drywall. Getting someone in who does it day in and day out. It'll get done and it saves you a headache... With the dust...probably literally it'll save you a headache. Lol I look forward to seeing the cabinets and trim work...my line of work. 👍
Looking good
Great video and thanks for sharing
The LA house is looking great again.... I moved from the panhandle of FL to getaway from storms but I didn't move far enough...lol... Thanks for the update and good luck with deer season
Great video thanks
How wonderful to see the house coming along.
Wow! The house looks great. Its nice to know how to do something and have it done that way you can shift gears on other things. Big time saver. That table is beautiful! Take care....
Thanks for the update Joe 👍. Y’all take care and God bless ✌️
That really is a nice house, bright, laid out nicely. Look how far you've come with it. Heartbreaking for Melissa and the animals to have gone thru the flooding. But I'd be proud to own the place now! It's beautiful.
Thanks for the update Joe. So what's the plan with the house? Will you sell it or maybe rent it out?
Good luck hunting. I was hunting northern Michigan last weekend and it was 73 degrees. Crazy for this time of year when there is usually at least a dusting of snow. Deer were moving good though. Managed to shoot a nice 8 point.
Love seeing y'all didn't forget the La. Home. Great video.
Hi Joe & Melissa,WOW a lot of work done & it looks good 👏👍
I love that new "The Tent" plaque below the clock.
What a job it's been for you. Get it sold before the Spring floods. I hope after all this week, you guys get a good price for it. The improvements you've made certainly warrant it. She made a great choice to hire the job that you hate to do and save your energy for the jobs you're best at.
Glad for this update. I’ve often wondered how you were going to get all that done on the Louisiana house long distance. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for it.
Yeah. I live in Northwest Louisiana. Open my front door is I-49. So after it was built our area has flooded 3 times in 23 years. Mind you my home is pier n post and sits 3 feet off the ground. There is a trench 6 feet below street level and down the hill some. Basically you can hide a city bus in there and want see it standing in the street. From street level to my curve is 10" and from curve to sidewalk right outside the fence around my house is another foot in height. Well after the rain had ended water was all the way in my front yard with trashcans. The big 33 gallon ones floating up n down the street. All you could see was water. No street, sidewalk or front terrace outside the fence. And that is over 5 feet wide. High wheeled trucks got stalled out tryna come round the corner. Took about a week before all that water left. It was 3 weeks before i could even walk on my grass.
Will be looking forward to see the Louisiana house again.
Very cute place in Louisiana, Melissa. Looking forward to seeing the paint job and finish work. Take care and Happy Thanksgiving to yous! (Btw yous is the Yooper way of saying y'all. 😁)
Louisiana house is how I found you, Joe. Been that long already! Going to sell it and get away from anymore troubles
Wow, very nice Joe and Melissa!!! I am quite surprised that they got so much done!
👍👌 I love your content I watching you and I've subscribed for a long time
I have been doing sheet rock work 25 years and your home is looking great joe
Thank you James. I admire what you do and respect it as well.
Correct thoughts on Louisiana. We sold the family home in Houma many years ago because living there is expensive with insurance and the weather is always a challenge. Sheetrock is a professional group activity to me too. Good contractors need the work now... Good luck!
Thanks for the update Joe. Hope you found an enclosed trailer for all your tools. If I remember correctly you started looking last time down to get stuff up north. Just realized your missing the whole hunting crew. I thought sara drove up with you.
..LOOKS GREAT, STAY SAFE...
That’s great Joe because you do so much. Blessings! 👍👍👍💯💯💯
Amazing. The home looks really nice. Look forward to when it's completely done. Happy Thanksgiving to you both & your families.Melissa, have a nice & safe trip next week. I look forward to the deer hunting videos. 1st day was nice & warm for everyone. Hope no wolves this year.
That house is brand new! You guys have done a good job!
God bless those who lost it all. I know people in Ponchatoula ( if I spelled it correctly). Thankful Joe has th ed skills. Thankful Melissa made it out. Full steam ahead.
Enjoy deer camp Joe I hope you and your kids get one glad that the progress is being made I'm so looking forward to Louisiana videos
I remember how much it was like camping last time. Anxious for Deer movie, and the subsequent Louisiana vids.
Great video joe deer camp yahoo can’t wait to see it
I have seen every one of your videos on that house. Looking forward to more.
Good update...good luck on it all!😉🇨🇦
Looking forward to December videos joe of the house great
Looks like they did a really nice job Joe !
Joe, a few of my relatives got deer over north of Bemidji up by Blackduck and Kelliher where I grew up. Hope you do as well up at the tent. I sure miss hunting season back there. I live in Edmonds, Washington and Washington is so messed up that getting to hunt here is so hard, you need to draw a tag and getting one is such a hassle. I used to bow hunt elk and deer in Oregon when I lived there but haven't tried it here in Washington. I look forward to watching your videos. Helps take the pain out of not being able to come back home to hunt. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Bernie Sutton
Really enjoy your chanels
Thank you Brian.
Hey Joe, is it possible that it could flood again like 4 years ago or have they put some type of retaining walls?
IM so glad im not the only one....
Im a carpenter as in I frame and all that stuff. But I ABSOLUTELY HATE drywalling. I hate mudding and taping.....I always contract that out. It takes a special somebody to do it and enjoy doing it. NOT ME
I don’t mind putting the plasterboard up, but the rest of it well, that’s “wet trades” and we don’t do that, do we !!
Well you did say anything about the Deer so I will wait.
House looks fantastic yes drywall sucks!!!
Your a better finish carpenter not a lather (most wont know what I’m talking about lol) Joe!!
Good luck hope you get one in the morning.
68° here in central NY. And the bucks are chasing the doe like crazy.only going to get better with this little weather drop next two days
I'll say you guys will be happy when the house is finally sold and done with. Then it's just visiting family and taking long winter vacations there to escape the minnesota freeze🤣. It looks like it's going to be quite beautiful though frfr. I didn't realize I had been watching your channel that long but I guess I have. Time flies when you're having fun🤣. Tyfs God bless you
Improvements since Spring :) Hope the temps get colder for hunting
OMG! I want my popcorn ceilings off so bad. I have seen how they do it with a vacuum and a scrapper. I have very tall ceilings. I can't believe it has been 4 years since the flood. Life moves so fast. The house is beautiful now, Is she keeping it or selling it? I know she still has family there. God bless Joe and Melissa!
I remember when that flood happened! You’ve worked your ass off on it for sure!
You're getting real close with the southern home👍👍👍
If you need any help when you get there let me know. I'm up in Monroe,la but would make the drive to help!
What’s going to happen with it when you’re done?
Thanks for posting. Hope you're having a good time at the tent. I love seeing the tent adventures!😊💖
Tell Melissa WASHINGTON STATE says "HI"!💕🌲When is the wedding? THAT I can't wait to see!👰🤵🍾🥂
Blessings to you both, and take care!
Good that you're finally able to get it finished! This darn virus as screwed up so many peoples lives. Looking forward to the videos!
but wait where is Deer Hunting 2020 "the Movie" lol, thanks for the update Joe...I take it no deer yet thats why🤣
Still editing it. Shes going to be a long one.
@@NorthernSeclusion Awesome Joe, look forward to it as always.
A bazooka and mud box makes short work of taping but one person can't do it all. Did a great job. 3-4 days? Sally the sand pole, hate sanding! Many many moons ago. PS hows earless doing?
I remember the Louisiana house was coming along really nice, the last video I believe was you adding the back deck. I was kind of worried this season about the house with all the hurricanes you never mentioned anything so I just assumed everything was okay. I guess that last bad flood was an anomaly well anyway now it's a beautiful home.
Are you and Melissa still planning on buying a big enclosed trailer? To haul all of the belongings back north. Thanks for the update.
I love that cedar table you have.
That's awesome that Melissa can finally have that off her mind. But the big question is if you'll build your dream cabin.haha . PS tell Zack stop slackin
Joe. I live right down the road from the house. I have been out of work for a while now, huge layoffs in LA. Oil/gas engineer and those jobs are hard to come by right now. So I have a lot of free time. If you need help with the house I would be glad to help.
What is the goal of the Louisiana house? Sell, One of her kids move in, rental property? Just curious. Looking forward to this years Deer Camp Movie!
Hi Joe and Melissa nice video
👍👍👍👌❤❤❤
(11/11/20) Is the Louisiana House being rebuilt from hurricane damage flooding 2016 and then up for sale or what?
Glad deer season is four months in Texas
Yes snow we just got hit with 3 feet of snow up here in Saskatchewan a blizzard to blunt but time for winter camping up at prince Albert national park
👍👍
Look out......mudbuggin in Dec 👍🤠👏
Melissa, turn the phone to landscape mode then it won't look like we are peaking through a half open door! LOL
I'm just thrilled that a lot of December will be videos.
Good idea. ❤️🙏🏻💯
Looking forward to Louisiana videos.
I think it would be interesting to here how you guy met if you don't mind sharing it
She commented on one of my Mudbuggin UA-cam videos. She said it is Crawfish, NOT crayfish. I was going through my divorce, we were not looking for anyone. We kept messaging and talking and one year later we met in person up here in Minnesota. We spent 4 days at The tent. Long story short, here we are 9 years later.
That's awesome 👍
I'm wondering when any new videos are coming out
Never fear Alvin is here, Joe , when the house is finished are you gonna put it on the market? Would probably get a good penny for it, that is alot to worry about being so far away , Take care my friend cant wait for the deer camp video, Alvin
Your beard is avesome.
@@relaxandregenerationchanel8887 thank you
Hopefully it won't rain over thanksgiving, it always seems to rain when you all are there.
Flood insurance is going to be a killer.
What do you mean? We pay flood insurance on it all the time. Always have.
@@NorthernSeclusion I am in Australia. We pay home insurance rates much higher if we are on a flood plain. Our home insurance had 5000 au. dollars added after floods in 2012. The water was nowhere near us. we found an insurer who included flood damage in policy without extra charge. That is around 800 au dollars instead of nearly 6000.
Are you going to be moving to Louisiana when the house is done, or are you still going to be living in the farmhouse? The house looks great so far.
We are staying here in Minnesota. We will probably keep the Louisiana house for a while though. We own it and it is a nice house. Melissa's family lives there and it is a nice southern retreat. The winters get very long here in Minnesota.
SALUDOS JOE .TAKE GOOD CARE AT YOURSELF . G.B.Y.
That's an amazing feat to have kept a long distance relationship for 7 years, both of y'all must be special people, don't think I could live like that! How many times a month did you guys see each other?
I'm patiently awaiting the 2020 Deer Hunting video.... Like an 8 year old on Christmas eve.
I am about 3/4s done with editing folder #1 of the videos clips. This video has 14 folders of video clips. You can expect it uploaded sometime next week. It would be sooner but I will be back up at deer camp for weekend 2 in 2 days.
Just curious, what did y’all do to help prevent future flooding. Was the house raised up more or additional drainage added.
Thatts nice did they jump the fence
I've been watching y'all that long?!
WILL THERE BE A TENT VIDEO ???
Yes, I have been editing it in my spare time this week. I did not have much spare time this week. I will be editing it this weekend while I am back up here at The Tent filming another Tent video.
"It's 1400 miles away." Excuses, excuses. We all know your an epic level long distance driver Mr.Joe :)
I was thinking the same thing!🤣
In 1 video itwas recently he drove 300+ miles in a day if I remember correctly
The Louisiana house is really looking nice. You only forgot one thing and that's to raise it about about 10 feet. Oh well, it won't happen again will it?
Hi Joe - is there a way for you to improve the drainage, so that house doesn't get flooded again? Would be a shame if it happens again after all this work
