@@LivingInRochesterNY-k3k My family settled her in the late 1800’s. Kodak supported two generations of my family. I was born in D.C. when my father was serving in the Air Force but I have lived here ever since he returned in 1974

Hello! Single guy 53 yo still have plenty of life to live. Grew up in New England (CT/Westchester) and have lived in Colorado for 30+ years. Miss home and want to head back. Looking at Maine and just started finding great places in upstate NY also. Lead Cook at Chili's Bar & Grill here which I love and know there are a couple in that area, any insights as to renting? Any local resources would be appreciated! Great video, nice rhyme haha

Hi there! Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your story-sounds like an exciting new chapter ahead! Maine and Upstate NY both offer incredible opportunities, and it’s great to hear you’re exploring the area.
As for renting, here are a few tips:
      • Check out local Facebook groups or Craigslist for smaller rentals that might not be listed on mainstream sites.
      • Websites like Zillow, Apartments.com, and Rent.com are great for more structured searches.
      • Reach out to local real estate agents who also handle rental properties-they often have inside knowledge.
Given your experience at Chili’s, you might also consider reaching out to the locations in the area directly. A manager there might have local insights or even team connections for housing!
If you’re considering specific areas, I’d be happy to dive deeper into rental resources or community info-just let me know! Best of luck with the move, and thank you again for watching. Appreciate the feedback on the rhyme! 😊

I get what you mean about cost of living but comparing it to the highest cost cities in the country when obviously they offer way more is a little off base. Might be better to just say most other cities and how it’s ranked low cost overall. However, obviously property tax is high but still overall low cost of living.

You’re totally right, and I appreciate your perspective. Comparing Rochester to the highest-cost cities does set a pretty extreme benchmark, and focusing on how it ranks compared to most other cities overall would definitely be more balanced. Property taxes are definitely a drawback, but you’re spot on that the overall cost of living is still relatively low.

Cool to see a Nepali in Rochester. Are there many Indians there too? I see a few Hindu temples listed on Google Maps. Do you know about the Indian population there? Thx! Nice content.

Hey brother, thanks so much for reaching out
From a population standpoint, I’d say there are a lot of Indians, and people of Desi descent living in Henrietta.
I think if you have a tad bit more money to spend, you will look at a Pittsford, and generally live there.
I go to the Hindu temple of Rochester, pretty frequently, and generally on the weekends it’s pretty jampacked.
I can’t give you a specific an exact number, as I’m not 100% sure how many people are here, but if I were to guess, I’d say anywhere from about 25 to maybe 40,000 give or take
Are you planning on moving here?

@@LivingInRochesterNY-k3k Thanks for the info! That's encouraging. I have never been to Rochester, but have been interested in it for a while. I'm not in a position to move now, as I'm in northern New Jersey taking care of my elderly mother. But I have Rochester on my radar. Hoping to get up there for a visit. I like what I see online of Pittsford, but will check out Henrietta too. Is there a a way to reach out to you (an email address)? Thx for your help!
