In this video we show you what the port of Nassau looks like under construction. We also share with you how to find the water taxi to paradise island. The water taxi costs only $5 per person per way. We took a short walk through the Atlantis marina and shops area on our way to a free local beach called Cabbage beach. We heard this was a nice low cost way to spend the day. We share our experience and why we would NOT suggest spending your day at cabbage beach.

I actually don't mind some barter talk. I'm curious to Jet ski, parasail and maybe banana boat. So wonder if the prices are lower than these tour deals when walking up and haggling a bit. Looks like if you went east less crowded, go up past all the entrance crowds maybe. traveled a lot and most poorer places the people do this, this is how they make money. I think booking a day pass mighta been better for you. But I like seeing the feel of you video.

Thank you for your video. We have walked to Junkanoo Beach before and found the same pitches along the walk, but not that intrusive. What do you recommend cruisers do that want to get off the ship but don't really want to do a shore excursion?
That's a good question? I have yet to find something I would really recommend instead of an excursion in Nassau. We have had much more enjoyable experiences by just getting an excursion. I enjoyed Blue Lagoon island and Pearl island. Both were nice peaceful days. A few times we have just taken the ferry boat over to paradise island and walked around the shops and marina and the casino at Atlantis. We did not get hounded much, but I would still prefer the excursions if it's in your budget.
I enjoyed Cabbage Beach in Aug, going back Thanksgiving. I’m going to ride Jet Ski, instead of paying $200 I was able to get 30 mins for $30 a beach chair and umbrella for $10 just had to negotiate.

Take a taxi to paradise island beach club on the right side of the resort you will see entrance to cabbage beach there’s a market shop sells snacks and beer before the beach entrance walk down a few steps then go to the right and you will find more private area to enjoy the beach

"We acted like we were staying at the resort to walk through the pool area '' 😂😂😂😂This is so me ,in Cancun I was acting everyday at different hotels to access Playa Tortugas and Playa Delfines because public beaches in Cancun are less beautiful than the hotel zone beach ,it sucks because I found a super cheap hotel but it was in the city and not in the hotel zone so I had to act like a guest of their hotels

Just left 3 weeks ago 2 spots you must go to is cabbage Beach and Mckenzie fish restaurant on the way back! Thank me later 😂. Lobster&shrimp is straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥 get a taxi it's much faster my man with the white hat white crossover toyota is the guy to get he will show you the way.

A lot of haggling but it's easy to say no thanks. But these are usually where you find the best deals! This is how we found jet skis for two ppl for an hour at $75.

I don't like to see so many vendors on the beach as well. There is another entrance on the right side of cabbage beach. Very quiet area and very scenery too.

Definitely not for me. Unfortunately, my cruise changed from going to Half Moon Cay to Nassau. Think we will stay on the ship. My husband doesn't have the patience to deal with this.
Dang! Half Moon Cay is so much more peaceful! Doesn't seem like a fair swap at all!
@BOOM & BIGZ TV it's not and carnival is not giving us excursion options either. :( I was willing to go to blue lagoon but it's not available for an excursion. Carnival really dropped the ball with our cruise for November.

We're avid snorkelers and have been to the Bahamas three times. We made the mistake of visiting Cabbage Beach once, and we'll never go back. The snorkeling is no good for lack of structure, the wave action can be rough, and the vibe is too high pressure. Junkanoo Beach is our go-to snorkeling venue in Nassau. Not high pressure, more relaxed and great snorkeling, and all for free.

You don't have to take ferry could have just took taxi straight from the port. You are absolutely correct they will bug the snot outta you buy when you first get there, its the cheapest Jet skiing in the bahamas so it's a catch 22 for me cause their beach is beautiful and it uses the EXACT same Beach as Atlantis 🤷🏽♀️

I don’t mind the vendors hounding us for whatever. It does get annoying but just keep going and make a joke with some of them. Nassau has so much character, enjoy it. I’m sure passengers will find a big difference now that the construction is completed.

This is why a perfect day at CocoCay has now become the number one destination in the Bahamas. Zero people bother you for it is owned by Royal Caribbean. They are building a third private beach island on Nassau so these people have just put themself put of business for we will not go back to any of these public beaches.
YES, I LOVE Royals Perfect Day at Coco Cay!!!! ! It's probably my favorite port of all! I also enjoy Carnivals private islands like Half Moon Cay & Princess Cay because there is no one bothering you the whole time. It ruins the day.
The truth is that I have never had the experience of going on a cruise it looks like a beautiful place but of course at the moment it is a disaster under construction 🚧

I’ve been having the hardest time debating between lagoon beach pearl island and or doing our own thing and finding a way!!! Any advice! I want a quiet place that’s why I thought of doing something on my own .. but .. I just don’t know .. someone suggested jaws beach but I’m scared I can’t get taxi back and or if they’ll be around … sigh!
I havnt tried Jaws beach yet. I definetly would not recommend cabbage Beach. I have hears Junkanoo beach is the same way. I would say blue lagoon over cabbage Beach and I havnt tried Pearl island.
Just people trying to earn an honest living, they did not seem to be rude - a simple No Thank You and keep walking. How did you get back to the ship, taxi or water taxi? If regular taxi, how much?
Not saying it's rude, just irritating when your trying to enjoy your vacation and someone is asking you to buy something every step you take. Just my opinion. We took the water taxi back.
