- Researchers from Melbourne University are calling for urgent focus to protect the mental health of teenage elite athletes across Australia. More than half of all mental illnesses arise between the ages of 16-25, yet we know very little about the risks elite teenage athletes are under. We take a look at the extreme lengths young people go to in becoming an elite athlete and the risk it has on their mental health.

There is no avoiding these issues if kids wants to be pro elite in their sports. Its all about being competetive and sacrifices, someone else will always out practice and out perform you. If you can not cope with it then stop performing at an elite level simple as that
