Nice cover guys! You are a talented musicians. This is the most demanding work of Claude Bolling, and you played it quite well. Congratulations!

IMPECCABLE COUNTERPOINT
6:17 I can feel the trumpetist's fear build up as he's about to attack that stratospherically high D.
That one seemed fine, but the several high Gs were interesting.
Bravo this concert is great, I admire Claude Bolling a lot
Beautiful!
Tip. If you put markers [mm:ss] (starting at 00:00), the video'll be divided in chapters. Sorry for my english
0:41 I was caught off guard
Wow this is epic!
These Bolling pieces have a certain charm and there's a lot to like in these series of compositions he did in this vein during that time but they seem to be a hodge podge of styles in them.
Congratulations on getting most of the notes right, that's half the battle. Good job overall. The fast passages all feel hurried and "hang on tight" but they were played well. Lead mouthpiece on piccolo is too harsh, as is the trumpet with lead mpc on the flugelhorn piece. If it was flugel, you get the picture. Straight trumpet over swing piano is correct, wish you had done it that way. In general a very nice presentation.
1:40 was the Diane Rehm Show theme
A masterful piece of music. The trumpeter is greatly talented. Those super fast repeated notes are just incredible. Bravo to the pianist too: are the improvisations transcribed in smaller notes, or is the pianist following the written score?
He's playing exactly what's printed, which itself might be a transcription of something someone else (Bolling himself?) improvised at some point. You can hear from the pianist's inability to lock in with the drummer that it's unlikely he's ever improvised a note in his life.
Suddenly I'm listening to NPR!
am i wrong or there is a drum too? or is it the Jazz Piano, like is it a prepared pianos? also sounds there is a bass too xD
Title is wrong! i noticed it's supposed to be jazz band and not jazz piano
I think the proper term is "Jazz Piano Trio" which consists of a piano, drums, and double bass.
Wow, nice. Inspiring for me as a music composer. Many many thanks🙏❤🌹⚘
NPR Weekend Edition, no?
Wild how you can tell when a Jazz trumpeter tries to play classical and vice versa.
Anywhere I can get the score?
