You are my teacher, i improved my drawings from beginner to intermediate just for the fact that i loved watching your tutorials and put your teachings into practice... Now i can finally call myself an ARTIST because of you😊... Thank you for the good work, continue inspiring us.
Sure. One tip I would say right off the hop is that you don't need charcoal to get really dark blacks and for hyper realism. I follow multiple accounts purposely because they don't use charcoal for hyperrealism. Charcoal has a huge list of issues alot more than graphite. But the most and worst issue is smudging and keeping them sharp and all around just makes a mess. "Staedtler mars lumograph black" is just as dark and doesn't have the issues charcoal does....
@@JasonLegendaryArt., Jason, like so many other great artist, are not talented , Kim Jung Gi, one of the world's greatest cartoonist got slightly offended when someone described him as talented, he said he's not talented because it took him over two decades to perfect his artwork, drawing sometimes 12 hours a day, it takes very hard work and total commitment to get to that level, not just the odd hour here and there, also you will fail many many times, but failure should be your friend on the way to greatness. Good luck my friend 😊
I remember the early days of drawing I would watch a bunch of videos without practice.i wasn't improving and it was frustrating .... till I figured I had to watch and practice to improve ...you are totally right ...the mind may get it but the hand needs to catch up..
This is a great video. I am not so sure about putting a 3 month timeframe on learning any particular skill but it is safe to say that with diligent practice over three months the improvements will be remarkable. People often associate being able to draw with talent. Their might be some talent (in my case being stubborn) involved but drawing is a skill.
Why I draw and paint is simply because I love the process of doing it. It is relaxing, calming and fun. I don’t want or care to sell anything or show anything. I have had few offers from a few people who did see something and said, “No”. Don’t know why, It felt like as if someone were asking to buy one of your children. (Maybe one day, right now, I do not want to part with anything.) Why I work at and want to get better is because I want to be able to capture the depth and essence of my thoughts, moods and feelings in the way I visualize it in my head.
5:35 best weapons are the ones you actually master. PS: his same applies to analog and digital. A better image can be done on 1, 4, or 40 layers. With 1 brush, 1 eraser. 1 hour, 1 week or 1 year. Thank you, teacher.
I love his motivation and what he is talking about makes a lot of sense I love drawing and always had a passion since I was a kid when I put my mind to it I am a great artist but I know I can be better at it my weakness is shading and noses and lips so I am will to start as a beginner and work hard because my goal is in a year and a half to be a hyper realistic artist
That's the spirit, I complained a lot about how hard hair is to draw and i never got better, it was until I recognized it was a weakness of mine and dedicated time to practice it that i saw results.
I love your videos, soooo many on here that you just watch them draw which is admirable as some are excellent. But your videos are easy to follow and understand , you explain everything that is artists who are less talented or knowledgeable, in a way that makes sense. Thank you so much. So so helpful.. keep the videos coming. ❤ xx ps. You are so talented.. ❤
I learned so much in quite a short time through your videos. Thank´s for sharing your tips and tricks and for your entertaining videos. They´re not only eduacating, but also very entertaining 😄! Oh, and I love these edits from the movie Big Eyes in between 😂!
I’ve started drawing every day to improve now! I posted a video of my improvement over a span of 3 days! :D I’ll be with u on your journey of art, always! ❤ you are a big inspiration to me :) 🫶
I'm divided in my opinion, but because I myself didn't use grid when starting, I used to advice people not to. But if you follow that advice, your progress will be slow because you'll be learning shading as well as facial proportions. But using grid right from the start will eliminate learning facial proportions and you'll be focusing on shading, but this would mean your drawing foundation will be weak.
Wow , last time I ckeced your channel, it had only a handful of views and a couple of hundred subs! How did you grow so fast! I'm glad for you, keep it up!!

I'll highly appreciate if u could help me with the kind of app u use to grid ur drawings before u draw them

Top vido. love your art. My name is dale. Hi yuster love drawing when I was younger what's the age of me being. I'm now 46. And I'm starting to draw again I am nowhere near as good as I used to be but however. I am hoping that with practice as I draw One Piece A day. Just small stuff. Its guys like you on UA-cam that ar my teachers.. so massive thanks 🎨🎨🖼👍👍👍
i have a question, if im willing to sell my art (portraits) how should the texture of the paper be? i worked with thick papers but the texture is too strong so i can't reach the smooth skin that i need, and if i have to use thinner papers, i feel like its too cheap and weak to be sold, i feel like im stuck in between. choosing papers is my biggest difficulty
Nah don't use thin Papers. There are thick Papers that are smooth. Like I use Strathmore Bristol Smooth which is smoother than Strathmore Bristol Vellum, that one is quite rough.
