"how to make dnb like Rob Gasser" - nothing... "how to make dnb like Panda Eyes" - nothing... How to make... melodic dnb? FINALLY! Thanks you so much for the tutorial, you should really put some artists in the tags for search optimization, that's the only tutorial on this genre I could find on youtube.
great tutorial. already on par with the bigger guys in the industry. would love to see more dnb related, like how to make some interesting dnb reese basses, but not the over the top wubs. i feel like there is not enough tutorials on how to make chilled yet energetic liquicity style dnb like: Lexurus, Flite, Camo&Krooked, FredV&Grafix, Maduk, Metrik type stuff
fantastic tutorial, I'm struggling with side chaining. I've watched pretty much every tut on UA-cam and I still cant figure it out, however you've just helped me a lot, maybe post a dedicated video. very detailed yet straight to the point, I've subscribed. keep it up.
Great detailed video, always wanted to start making melodic drum and bass and this video had some of the perfect explanations I needed. thank you so much
nice tutorial man! i guess you like fox stevenson since you showed some of his production tricks and explained them really well! I would recommend you to try distorting lead and bass together on a bus see what happens. keep up the good work!
pls drop a mini tutorial on how you made that drop lead!! This tutorial is awesome dude but getting my lead to sound right is the only thing im struggling with :(
Brilliant vid, i picked up a couple tips there. Im bored of making same old dnb. Lool. Only thing id say is it droped to quick. (Not that im a pro) to me it needed longer build up but the track is sick. 😁
Basic sounds are much better than complex because it's not gonna make you have a hard time eq-ing Most importantly, pop music mostly are basic sounds that people can catch very easily. Drum and Bass works the same, just in faster tempo/BPM
How do I send a song to the mixer and use the filter to take out the high parts or low parts I don't need I'm like a beginner beginner. Im just having issues using the tools or finding them and properly using them ?
I find the multiband sidechain quite difficult cuz I don't have Fabfilter pro, I wonder if I can just do multiband sidechaining with ParametricEQ or Maximus instead of Fabfilter.
I think it can maybe be done with Maximus! With stock plugins I’d probably split the bands with Fruity Frequency Splitter then SC with fruity limiter on each channel
What kind of sound are you going for? Sound design can be as simple or as complicated as you want, I like to go simple and use effects to make it sit right and sound more polished. A bit of reverb/delay after you EQ your sound how you want should help it to sound bigger if that’s the problem you’re having?
@@spacesdnb i would love that lead that u used here, could u maybe make a video or just send me a screenshot of what u used to process this, basically all the sounds u used, the saw layers, the lead, the bass, (i got the plucky ish thing +/- like in the video)
@@spacesdnb also if you could do something on melody writing perhaps? I absolutely adore the melody you wrote and I have a hard time creating something similar. I cant work on a song wich's key element is dog poopoo
I’ll try to go more into detail in a future one with how I write melodies! It’s pretty hard to explain because it’s something you just kind of work out the longer you’re at it but there are some tips to get better results that I can go into :)
I use a unique kick / snare sample that I’ve shortened to the smallest size, that goes on their own mixer channels unlinked from the master so it doesn’t make sound, then sidechained wherever it needs to go
9:03 you cut your low end lead but why you still sidechained your kick to the lead? The lead already have room for the fundamental of the kick in low end area
Hey! I have two questions 1- I didn't understand how you make that sound without the serum (1:29) 2-Are you going to release this song? I really enjoyed it! Keep the good work!💚
The sound is a saw with an LFO on a lowpass filter's cutoff to get a 1/8th rhythm. And I'm glad you like the song! It's probably going to change a bit when I finalize it but I'd like to release it :)
@@spacesdnb Thanks for answering so quickly, I know that in the beginning it's hard to grow but if you keep this kind of quality you are going to blow up very fast!
how do i get serum in fl studio ? i really dont know how to do shit in this program xD how do i start with that i just want to do some dnB but that looks fucking hard to do with 0 experience
Thank u @Spaces , if u may will look for something for psytrance production I'll can help u 🤟 Never played drum & bass but in the last 5 years it's my favourite music for dance.. hope to be able to find little time in the future to create a track, for sure I'll can be inspired by your tunes, really good man 💣
simple workflow tip: select a time period, select the elements you want to duplicate and press ctrl+b. It duplicates to the spot you want rather than having to ctrl+c ctrl+v and dragging to the right spot.
It can be a bit overwhelming as you learn but it gets so much easier, I think a lot of the hard stuff is learning the software/where everything is for the first time, after that it starts making a lot more sense!
Final result is at 18:23! Thanks for watching and let me know if you have questions!
Honestly a very insightfull tutorial. Subbed!
Thank you I’m glad you find it helpful!
This has to be the best tutorial I've watched 🎉🎉 very helpful 🦾🦾

Thanks so much!

love this one, reminds me of a Liquicity track!
Amazing tutorial, but as a beginner I can only go to so many things before I have to start buying stuff. Could you perhaps try something with Vital?
more content from you please, great guide.
thank you
another way to sidechain that is imo alot easier is in the mixer sidechain the kick to the sounds you want to duck down and put a limiter on them
So Cool man!
Serum is pretty neat
Great tutorial and really like the tune
Thanks!
Sounds pretty good to Me, definitely would sound good with a vocal.
Can you make a video with the more in depth explanation of this sidechaining?
Done, up now!
