I come back here every now and the. I'm 81 next month (10/12), and in my long years of listening to music...well, as I commented before, this is 'beyond excellent'.
SSSHhhh! You're NOT supposed to REVEAL Your AGE! THIS is the DIGITAL AGE and EVERYONE can be your Friendly THIEF & PIRATE! SILLY.... YES.... SO hide YEPPERS.... HIDE that AGE before It's Too Late! 😂 What an ARTIST and SONG, TOO! ❤
her natural metronome is unbelievable. There's always this silent one, two, three, four. And she's always spot on. She also shames most people with her skill on guitar. Everything is perfect about this performance.
holy shii...The Ron Sexsmith original is one of my favourite songs. I don't know how I overlooked this cover for so many years. Unrestrained, agile, ecstatic, physical yet cerebral. Love it.
I am familiar with Ron Sexsmith's struggles to earn a living off of his craft -- but damn, when he is gone, his songs will live on forever, unlike most of his peers who made more bank. The dude can write!! Feist's live cover here is unbelievable.
Ron Sexsmith ! !This version of his is also fabulous! Merry Christmas 2022 ,Thank you also to the CBC. It's all happening during "Generational Storm " , so ! Many thanks from us here in Stratford!!!
When I was 15 listening to this song, I couldnt relate because I wore my heart on my sleeve and let all my emotions out. At 33, I finally understand how it feels to have a secret heart….it’s terrifying, those 3 words! I needed this song today.
Feist's best version of this song. There are more "flavors" or "colors" within the song than the other version PLUS that organ is other worldly-sounding good....
Perhaps part of FEIST's attraction aside from INCREDIBLE SONGS with talented supportive Bands, is her #Voice's youthful "School Girl Innocence"... She sounds So Young but with captivating Songs yearning for adventure and the GROWN UP LIFE.. Am I Alone on This? FEIST's unique Voice is SO ENGAGING! and CAPTIVATING! Curious... Even her Covers, like This Ron Sexsmith Song, possess This INNOCENCE, which is Quite INSPIRING...
Like people have already written this is a song that makes you want to keep coming back. It's one of those songs that you all of a sudden feel the need to listen to.
I enjoy this song well enough in its laid-back studio version (on "Let It Die") but this raucous take is a revelation that actually pumps things up while adding to the bittersweet message of the song at the same time. That shaky opening makes it even better. She seems unclear about what she's doing, but it's all a fake-out to draw you in.
Love me some Ron Sexsmith. Was in his home town of St. Catherine's Ontario recently. Typical post industrial harbour town (city) that benefited from automotive manufacturing and the hugely impressive Welland Canal connecting Lake Ontario to Lake Erie. Think in terms of a mini Suez or Panama Canal without the geopolitical risk. That aside, the city seems to be lost and decaying in 1960s housing and architecture. The flat terrain, sprawling housing and bizarrely angled street layout and road intersections are very weird a for North America city. In truth its not that pretty a place but there is something I like about it I like. Not sure what exactly. Anyway it produced Ron Sexsmith and that singular event gives it some merit in my mind. His descriptive lyrics are world class and like Fiest he is a unique musical talent from Canada eh! It is on the lake and it has a wonderfully temperate climate and is surrounded by Apple, Peach and other orchards and vinyards. It is about 30 mins from Niagara Falls and an hour from Toronto so there is that upside I suppose? Anyway Ron Sexsmith lyrical master.
Fan friccin' tastic songstress from our neck of the woods... Canada!!! Aw, shucks, what's that flag-waving all about, creative insecurity or what? Talent knows no borders, it's one shining human sharing remarkable gifts with the world, and that is to be celebrated! How else could we touch our own souls if not for the gifted among us opening our own hearts to the beauty within?
As bad as this platform has become there are gems like this hard to find anywhere else. One of my all time favorites here, we owe you (another) one Canada. It's always this and Feel it All on the bus on Kimmel. If you can't do it live can you really do it at all?
Still one of my favourites, an absolute classic, and I didn´t know this live version. 💖💖 Secret heart What are you made of? What are you so afraid of? Dude, almost a decade waiting for an HD version of this. This is probably my favorite live performance of any song EVER.
Oh yes! I agree with you! I have watch this yt video so many times. First time was about 15 years ago, and I still love this performance so much!

her natural metronome is unbelievable. There's always this silent one, two, three, four. And she's always spot on. She also shames most people with her skill on guitar. Everything is perfect about this performance.
One of my favorites, I come back again and again. Beats the album version to bits. Love her with that guitar

People are afraid off climate change, trump and world war 3. Im afraid off the reason this video only has 300 000 views..

She's too good for today's fame. She has old-tyme talent. What an absolute gem.
She completely owns this song. So amazing watching it pour out of her. Such a jamm'n song.
This is so good after all these years....I keep coming back. Feist slays me.......again.
Leslie tugged at my sleeve once in a junk shop. I should've chatted her up.
Ron Sexsmith ! !This version of his is also fabulous! Merry Christmas 2022 ,Thank you also to the CBC. It's all happening during "Generational Storm " , so ! Many thanks from us here in Stratford!!!

Will Always be at the very top of my list of favourite great songs! ❤❤❤❤
that fucking tone, that voice. I ran out and bought a Guild Starfire V right after this. I'm not joking.
One of the all time best performances.
When I was 15 listening to this song, I couldnt relate because I wore my heart on my sleeve and let all my emotions out. At 33, I finally understand how it feels to have a secret heart….it’s terrifying, those 3 words! I needed this song today.
It never ever ever gets old. What a fucking badass
I've come back to this recording so many times in the last decade. Incredible performance. Imagine being there!
she is so good not only with the voice but also with the guitar..incredibile..
Edivad Cad She’s AMAZING live. You feel it.
What a beautiful version and a pleasure to listen too.
Five stars for the {Ron Sextant} song and great performance by Feist. Didn't know they existed till today. Where have I been? They are Great!!!
Feist's best version of this song. There are more "flavors" or "colors" within the song than the other version PLUS that organ is other worldly-sounding good....
her best version of any song
J y reviens encore ce soir, c’est intime chapeau bas j’adore ❤
Like seriously does it get any better than this Ron Sexsmith & Fiest...Perfect.
Maybe The Tallest Man On Earth's version
@@kelleybacher2469 Ooof i dont think so. Although its often the first version you see. Im glad he brought more attention to this though
Man what a great performance she is amazing!!!
I love that raw sound...nailed it and then some!
I've been re-listening to my Feist Cds and God, she has so much talent, I wish she would made another album now!
With love from Canada!!
she's so good and her voice is gold! when another album??
soon...I've heard it ;)
It just came out! I'm so glad she's making music again.
I'm in Canada too, will go to her Pleasure tour concert this summer, yeay!
Wow. Excellent nuanced version of Ron Sexsmith's classic song. I am surprised it isn't covered by more bands. Canada's Orbison...
Love both her vocal and guitar work. I'm in love.
Fantastic performance!
her voice and playing are so great
처음 노래로 소개할 때부터 이미 소름. 라이브 무대를 본 사람이 부럽네요.
La descubrí por allá en el 2007, sin duda es una maravilla de artista!!

Her guitar playing style is inimitable!
This is the best performance of this song. I wish I could find it in a higher quality though.

Like people have already written this is a song that makes you want to keep coming back.
It's one of those songs that you all of a sudden feel the need to listen to.
yep best version, love the guitar tone
Guild, underrated hidden gem of guitars.
@@THEQueeferSutherland Late 1960s Guild Starfire V, if I'm not mistaken. Great guitar, and she plays it so well!
I think she’s an underrated guitarist,
100% tasteful, 0% intention to communicate size of balls… makes me think.
Yeah, the guitar tone was so beautiful. Guild and Vox AC30?
@@DreCarvalho feist uses a pair of Vox Pathfinder 15r
Love this one of his songs
I hit like before she rocked it out. I want another like button...
Just how much better this is than the album version ...
I wanted to hate this - shit I love it to bits. This is how covers are done.
Beautiful.
Wow. Incredible guitarist
I did not know that Feist was this good. Hats off
Magnifique !
This is 14 years old!? Sh!t time flies!
진짜 기억에 남는 라이브중 하나!

The gift of UA-cam…repeat visits to get one of my very favorite fixes..Feist’s live cover of Secret Heart by the great Ron Sexsmith.
For me it is the best live concert I heard on YT. I miss the full version.
Does anyone has the full version dowloaded posted somewhere?
Yep, I miss it too. Anyone?

Secret heart
What are you made of?
What are you so afraid of?
Could it be three simple words
Or the fear of being overheard?
What's wrong?
Let him in on your secret heart
Secret heart
Why so mysterious?
Why so sacred, why so serious?
Maybe you're just acting tough
Maybe you're just not man enough
What's wrong?
Let him in on your secret heart
This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
That you're dying to reveal
Go tell him how you feel
Secret heart
Come out and share it
This loneliness, few can bear it
Could it have something to do with
Admitting that you just can't go through it alone?
Let him in on your secret heart
This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
That you're dying to reveal
Go tell him how you feel
This very secret heart
Go out and share it
This very secret heart
incredible!
