  • Welcome back to the channel !
    In this video, I show you how to replace a radiator on a 2010 Mazda 5 2.3 Liter Automatic. It is definitely a job you can do in the driveway provided you get the car up high enough to pull the radiator and rad fan assembly out the bottom. Hopefully you don't have to do this job in the winter like I did, if you in fact do, you will need boat loads of patience and will power. A friend is always a plus and will definitely be of help when pulling the radiator. If you do use this video as your guide, be sure that you and your friend or friends who help you with finishing the job and beer, all SubScribe to my channel. Thanks in advance, I really hope people are reading this, I've been putting a lot of effort into the descriptions of late. Please leave a comment as a confirmation so I know.
    As always thanks for watching and we will see you in the next one...

    You can put a Little grease or WD on those radiator tabs that lock to the condenser, lt will slide in (with a little push/pull).

    Videoanleitung ist super. Trotzdem sind einige Sachen schwierig umzusetzen (Wasserschläuche abbauen, Klimakühler entfernen).
    Instructions in the video are great. Some things are a bit difficult to implement (like removing the water hoses and removing the air conditioner).
    Greetings from Austria

      Thank you Schrauber for the comment. I agree sometimes removing water hoses and especially on this car the AC condenser from the radiator was a real pain. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Please subscribe if you haven't already and thank you :-)

      @@JimmysAutoClinic your humor and the way you present the video is awesome.
      I would definitely take more time with your thumbnails though. They are too busy. Usually when you look at a thumbnail you should know exactly what the video is going to be about.
      The text should be limited to 1-4 words, if you can, expressing what the video is about in an exciting manner. I wish you much luck 🙏

    Thank you from New Zealand for your video! Hubby and I were able to put a new (2nd hand) radiator in our car a few days ago, we have a Mazda premacy 2006 and your step by step video was amazing!!! Lol the part where u 🤬 you and hubby were in sync lol he was frustrated with the same one 😂
    We need to do the break pads too so will be looking to see if you have that one available 😉
    Your video saved us $700 so thank you!!!!

      I woke up to this comment this morning. Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for commenting. I have a few videos on how to do brakes nothing on the Mazda 5 or Premacy, I know the Mazda has an annoying little clip but I'm hoping in New Zealand you guys don't have any rust issues. If you don't it should come out relatively easy. From memory is actually fairly easy the process is pretty much the same as most other brakes it's more of a European style caliper. But I don't know if it's different for a New Zealand.

    Nice video man thanks for the tips. was wondering if you had to jack the front up to get the radiator out ?

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  2 роки тому

      Hey Nat, Thanks for the comment. I did have to elevate the car. I didn't use a jack I had my vehicle on the Hoist. You will need to elevate it to slip the radiator out from the bottom. Please don't forget to hit that subscribe button.

      @@JimmysAutoClinic do you think Jack stands will work?

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  2 роки тому

      Yes jack stands would work but of course it's easier to use a jack because you can adjust the height a little bit easier. Or you can grab a friend just to help you slide it out from the bottom of the vehicle. That would be the absolute easiest thing.

    The plastic housing of the vent ruined my radiator!
    Obviously this is a common issue at these vehicles.

    i think i have the exact same leak, Ive ordered some like holtz sealer thing, hoping that may fix it? any thoughts or should i just go buy a new radiator?

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  2 роки тому

      Just buy a new radiator. There are certain products that work for sealing a cooling system but you do have small passages on your head gasket as well which you can block or in the rest of the cooling system which can lead to issues later on so it is always best just to replace the radiator. The good thing is besides the work they're actually not too bad in terms of cost. Good luck my friend.

      @@JimmysAutoClinic nice one man, yeah just seems an annoying job more than a hard one, speaking from someone that has never swapped out a radiator, least I won't feel bad buying some cheap Chinese one 😂

      I hear you LOL whichever place you go with what the warranty may be. Most places now offer a three to five-year warranty some even offer lifetime. I'm in Toronto Ontario though so it may be different where you are.

    So... on the fan assembly there are no tabs on the passenger side to pull?

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  3 роки тому

      Hey Dean. There are tabs on both sides of the radiator assembly. Exactly what you do on the driver side you will do on the passenger side to release both the fan and the air conditioning condenser. It is exactly the same. Unfortunately it was quite tricky to get the camera in position to show you that so in the video I do show you off the car where the tabs were and then when I'm placing the fan back you can see the tabs that hold the fan assembly and the two tabs that hold it in place up top. In the video you can only see the tab on the driver side but there is one on the passenger side as well.

    I need to replace the condenser in mine. Is that also the only way to get the condenser out? Do you have to pull the radiator out first? Thanks

    • @JimmysAutoClinic
      @JimmysAutoClinic  2 роки тому +1

      Essentially yes, at least that's the way that I would do it. I don't know of any other ways you may be able to get the condenser out other than pulling off the complete bumper assembly which would be a lot more work.

    • @mvirbick
